"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and then throw it in the face of the person who gave you the lemons until they give you the oranges you originally asked for?" - Bill McNeal
Nothing like peacefully strolling through the Mojave desert when all of the sudden you get jumpscared by the abrupt killcam of Boone de-materializing a Gecko from 5280 feet away
Holy Shit. I never realized it before, but after your video where Jeanie said that she knew that Boone thought his wife was kidnapped, I went back over the files. I originally thought nothing about it, but in hindsight that would actually be very suspicious. After all, Boone said it himself, he didn’t tell anyone about his suspicions because he was afraid the Legion would come after them also. So how could Crawford know about Boone having suspicions in the first place? If Crawford was in fact innocent, she wouldn’t have known about what Boone thought about in the first place. That was so subtle, I can’t believe missed that.
For anyone creating future Fallout games be it Bethesda or otherwise, please, please look closely at how this character was portayed and handled, this is one of the most morally complex characters the game has to offer and you can really feel the broken man that Boone is. This is great storytelling and world building with multiple paths that you can come across, you can pass it by or it can follow you, you find out how Bittersprings effected many and how a person might break further and give into the corruption all around.
The sad part of this is that there are people who call Boone a psychopath that enjoyed deleting his wife because 'the slave camp is small.' Like, huh!?
Which is part of a broader phenomenon I've observed. Behaviour in Fallout world is no holds barred and often it's kill or be killed. We do stuff in game where we would spend life in prison in the normal world. It's not fair to call him a psycho cause the Wasteland is a world of madness
Boone's backstory always makes me sad. Life throwed everything at his way and with our help he can even came on top at the end. What a companion to have in the wastelands of Mojave. Also great video
What happened at Bitter Springs was unfortunate but given the Great Khan's 200 yr hx of terrorizing the wasteland (many of those innocent ppl were women, children, and elderly) I find myself lacking much sympathy for them in New Vegas
Understandable, but war crimes are still war crimes even against terrorist. Civilizations may be built on corpses at first but senseless violence is just wrong when a nation deems itself as a "morally right" beacon of civilization.
It's true, and it's telling how much humanity the NCR has that they actually feel bad about it and feel sympathy for their enemies and even consider the ones who can't fight "civilians". It's a luxury the NCR's enemies, including the Khans and the Legion would never afford the NCR themselves. It has its flaws, but the NCR is the closest thing that the west coast has to pre-war civilization we've seen so far. Including a society-wide code of ethics that's actually cultural.
Hooboy, it's SYNONYMOUS!!!! Thank you for your work, you make excellent content! The Mystery Of Joshua Graham: how is he immune to chems? Some of them? All of them? I'm very curious as to how being lit on fire and tossed in a giant gash in the earth makes one impervious to the effects of man-made drugs. Also, where do all these damn Fresh Apples keep coming from?!?
Hell yeah I know every single detail about big B for 10+ years. But loving fallout lore so much you’ll rewatch the same story being told even to this day
I think if I had lived the life that Boone did I don't know if I'd be able to go on. Whether it was Bitter Springs, the horror that he must've felt in that moment and the shattering of his worldview when it came to the NCR or his experience with his wife and child and how it all ended. To have to first live with what had happened at Bitter Springs, caring for your family while also fearing what they'd think of you if they ever learned what happened whether it was your fault or not, something like that could quite easily shatter his family's images of him forever. To live in that cycle of fear, guilt, regret and the many other emotions while having to suppress those feelings sounds truly awful. Him not being able to save his wife and daughter but instead being placed in the position of ending their lives rather than allowing them to live a life of nothing but hardship and suffering is unimaginable. Boone and his life especially how he lsot his famiky and the guilt he must've felt reminds me very much of The Survivalist from the Honest Hearts DLC who also grappled with losing his family and the guilt he felt over not dying with his family when the bombs fell. I also am reminded of Max Payne who also was unable to save his wife and daughter and another character in that series later on. Cole Phelps also comes to mind and his experience during WW2 and the cave on Okinawa, in a sense it was his own Bitter Springs.
The great thing i like in boon is hes great in sniping you can inherit it every marked enemy gives you critical hit in vats mode plus if you bring him in bitter springs he will change his attire
It would be amazing if we see Boone, Veronica, and Raul in the Tv show, my ideal ending that they use, house wins, Veronica left BoS for the Followers,Boone redeemed himself and stays in Vegas as a caravan gaurd, and Raul pick up the ways of the vaquero again
I never knew boone was only 27, he always seemed way older to me. Guess it makes sense, hes has more than a lifetime of experience in the span of about 6 years...
Boon and rex are my companions. While rex is biting nutz boon is shooting them in the face from beyond render distance lol. Boons story always got me so i always roll with him.
Always felt kinda bad for him although he's such a dark character. He's a hard man but i found myself attached to him after we had gone through a few bad situations together
Bro wait carla was prego damn i already felt bad for Boone but he had to kill not just his wife but kid too like fuck dude ofc hed become a edgelord like others are saying. He litteraly had to kill the last part of himself 😢damn dude
I had to mainly force his quest with console commands. Still trying to figure out how to do all the legion stuff and his quest without console commands
Your videos about New Vegas are depressing, because is very apparent that we never are going to get more Fallout games with this level of writing😢. Only Pagliarulo crap
When Life Gives You Lemons...
YOU MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK!
You make your engineers invent a combustible lemon, to burn people's houses down with.

Having your wife sold by those you trust and having to mercy ☠️ her is probably the worst thing

Cold.....ice cold.
Boone gave me some of the sickest killcam on legionaries, thanks Boone.
The sad part of this is that there are people who call Boone a psychopath that enjoyed deleting his wife because 'the slave camp is small.' Like, huh!?
Yeah seriously. They forget that tbe game is scaled down by like 10x. and the player character is literally a demi god.
Assuming he had hardcore mode level 30 health he'd still only get a few of them before getting overwhelmed and shot and cut to pieces

Also great video
Boone is such an edge lord but the writing is so amazing that of course he’s an edge lord, who wouldn’t be after what he’s been through?
He is The edge lord
Aren't edge lords full of crap though? Boone has been through actual trauma and takes tangible action on it.
"It's that dude silent and stoic?!? What a edgelord!" 🙄

By far one of my favourite characters in the entirety of the Fallout series
The real tragedy was that his name was Craig the whole time.
