I have tried to outsource editing for a long time! I have probably tried 8 different ones. How in the world do you find a good one?!?! I am getting a consistent gallery back, but it either does not look deliverable yet and I need to work on them or it is not my style/what I asked for. I have given several of them a growth period, but it is wasting my time and it is delaying my return times. I really want to outsource this but I am starting to just want to give up. I will have to take less bookings because of this and won't be able to make as much. It is frustrating!
Oh no! I'm so sorry you've had this experience, Dianne. I think the solution is two-fold: 1. Knowing that you will likely still have to work on the galleries just a tiny bit once they are back from your editor. I still spend about 60-90 minutes in the wedding galleries once I get them back to make sure everything is cohesive and to my liking before exporting and sending over. But, this is (of course) FAR less time than I would normally need to edit. 2. It's going to be a trial and error period of finding the right person - but don't give up! Another thought process that helped me is to remember that not every. single. image. in the wedding gallery needs to be edited to absolute perfection. For example, if I'm delivering 1500 images, there are likely 400-500 images from the reception of guests dancing. If a handful of these images are slightly warmer or cooler or darker than I would have edited them myself...that is OKAY. Sometimes freeing up a little bit of the need for "perfection" when it is likely only something WE would notice as a photographer helps to free up some room for error!
Hi Hope. Could you elaborate? Does your Va completely manage your honeybook? I'm still learning how to use honeybook and it can definitely be overwhelming at times from setup to ongoing management. If she is completely managing your honey book, that is a gamechanger 💪🏿

The things that your VA does, wouldn’t a CRM automatically fix this, through automatic workflows?
