    For first time I found that the Router Mode was working when connecting to the main router. But later months it's had issues like dropping connection, terribly slowing down internet speed that unable to run the speed test etc. Only after changing to Access Point mode this problem was resolved. However, I didn't have have dynamic IP anymore when connecting to the internet in Access Point mode. In such mode only assigned static IP provided by the main router (inspite of DHCP enabled in this router). DHCP setting also greyed out in TP-link. Is there a means to have dynamic IP to all the devices connected to TP-link ? or any possibility to change back to Router Mode again ?

      You should try to read up and get a better understanding of Wi-Fi and connections. I don't mean that in a bad way I just mean it's rather confusing unless you have a little more knowledge. however it can all easily be found online. in order to extend or boost the Wi-Fi you have to have Wi-Fi. so if you were talking about extending it with a router you need an ethernet cable or you need to get one with a Poe switch so you don't have to plug it in but you're still going to need the ethernet cord. otherwise you're talking about a range extender or something that just plugs in. not a router. look into Wi-Fi range extenders and mesh systems

    why do you use wan port on the first scenario but lan port on the second?

    • @thinkdeeperdeeper3147
      @thinkdeeperdeeper3147 6 месяцев назад

      The WAN port in a router is used to connect the router to the internet or a modem. It is used to receive data from the internet and distribute it to the devices connected to the router. On the other hand, LAN ports are used to connect devices within a local network. They are used to transfer data between devices connected to the router.
      In the Access Point mode, the WAN port is not used. Instead, the router is connected to the internet via a LAN port. This is because the router is not responsible for routing traffic in this mode. It is only responsible for providing wireless access to devices connected to it.
      In the LAN settings, the WAN port is also not used. Instead, the router is connected to the internet via a modem. The modem is connected to the WAN port of the router. The LAN ports are used to connect devices within the local network

      @delta6832 5 месяцев назад

      @@joegame4576the video is not accurate when making the router an access point (AP) connect the two routers lan to lan not lan to wan. So the Ethernet cable would be connected to main router lan port and to second routers lan port (not the second routers wan port). Hope this clears ur doubt.

    • @roodeeznutz
      @roodeeznutz 3 месяца назад

      TP-Link provides "Operation Mode" menu and enables the WAN port to work similar to LAN-LAN in "AP mode" and still provide 4 LAN ports to be used. In regular router which doesn't have that menu, you have to use the second method because WAN port is still WAN port and you need LAN port to connect both routers so that leaves you 3 LAN ports to use.

    In the second option, you disabled changed Lan address to 192.168.0.2 and disabled DHCP server. Conected via lan port to lan port to main router rather lan port to wan port. Will wifi work with this config? If yes then ip address will be issued by the main router DHCP.... right?

    • @thinkdeeperdeeper3147
      @thinkdeeperdeeper3147 6 месяцев назад

      Yes, devices can be connected to the WiFi of the secondary router even when there is no wire in the WAN port of the secondary router. In this setup, the secondary router is connected to the main router via a LAN port. The WAN port of the secondary router is not used.
      When the secondary router is connected to the main router via a LAN port, it acts as an access point. The access point provides wireless access to devices connected to it. The devices connected to the secondary router will be able to communicate with devices connected to the main router, as long as they are on the same network.
      It’s important to note that the secondary router should be configured to operate in Access Point mode. This mode disables the router functionality of the secondary router and allows it to function as an access point. You can configure the secondary router to operate in Access Point mode by disabling DHCP and NAT
