a great arrangement....good to see you young people making music as it shold be made.......we i was young back in the 60s and played in a band, it was cool to have a sax or some other horn in your band....somehow with the coming of hard rock and metal and the junk they pass of as country music, we lost the desire to use our ears to distinguish one note from another. amen to this type of work and hope he continues to teach and play music
Oh my gosh. I can't tell you how much I love this recording! The tune is a favorite, but this recording is exactly what I wanted to hear! Kudos to the Roy Frank Orchestra and thanks to fishheadhorn for posting it! Woohooo!
I hope to see my grandson perform the alto sax solo to this classic song in the last concert of the season. As first-chair, first section, and section leader in a very large, well-funded high school band, he has the option to select a Sax solo. His predecessor in title always played "Careless Whisper," which my grandson says, makes him "gag." He LOVES music from the Big Band Era, the 50s, 60s and early 1970s. "You guys were lucky. You had great cars and actual music."
I didn't notice but after I read your comment I watched again. Interesting; he's just "feeling it". That's the purpose of music: to make us feel something. We all feel it; we tap our toes, sway, move our heads, even dance.
Exzellente Aufnahme!!! Dieses Stück gehört seit Kindertagen zu meinen absoluten Favourits, umso mehr freut es mich, so eine inspirierende Interpretation zu hören, herzlichen Dank!

Haven't you heard the Duke Ellington version?
Es läuft mir jedesmal kalt über den RÜcken, wenn ich das Stück höre... Und ich denke dabei an den großen Film.
