Cool stuff wish I could have seen him in 84' but I was a little to young. Got to see him in 96 or whenever in Minnesota. But God bless him just beutiful. Now that's true Americana.
I was at this concert. It opened with Bruce standing with his back to the crowd and the scarf trailing out of his pocket. Born in the U.S.A. An American playing for Canadians who loved it. The good old days........
Bruce had an italian grandmother. There is some italian blood in his veins and I feel proud of it. I was at the concert in Torino and I remember Bruce saying some words in my language. I apologise for my shaky english
Why do people have look back so far to find good music? I keep thinking someone will put a great band together soon and soon never comes. Bruce has about 12 songs I love. This is one I’ll always love. Perfect chemistry: lyrics subject matter guitar etc. not bland whatsoever. Love it
You can almost feel the energy coming through the screen. I've never seen Bruce Springsteen give a half-hearted performance. You can tell he's having the time of his life on stage.
Loved BRUCE since I was 8 yrs. old.....first song that got me was Prove It All Night. From then it was a LOVE affair of all the past albums from the beginning....had to explore him intensely. Best concert I ever was at in Joizy, as a teenager. He was magic!
I love the joy these bands had playing music back in the 70s and 80s, you just dont see it that often these days (though there are certainly still artists that genuinley love sharing their music with thousands of people). Feels like this level of artistry is disappearing.
Saw 2 Toronto concerts in 1984...then 2 in New Jersey in 2009--with my twenty year old son. Forever a Bruce fan. There is NO other concert like his: there are two kinds of music fans--those who have been to a Bruce concert and those who haven't. And, he is still relevant...as evidenced by the HUGE Bruce fan that my son and many of his friends are. Waiting for the next tour. BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE! And, I agree...Max is the best drummer. (And his son Jay is a chip off the old block!)
MAXIE WEINBERG, U NEVER GIT THE RECOGNITION THAT U DESERVE !!! AS TINA SANG, U R SIMPLY THE BEST !!! AND THX MAX FOR THE LETTERMANS AND THE VENTURES !!! R I P C C
Was there that night...one of the great shows of my life...and RIP to the Great Burt in his black TransAm...cus one day, we're ALL gonna meet down at that Cadillac Ranch *(2019 addendum..RIP Junior, the wild man from the "woods of Caroline...give our love to Danny, and the Big Man..)
The best performance of this song ever. Now, every time they play it, they pay it slower and slower. When Bruce turns 350 years old, it will be a fast waltz.
I'm in Tennessee on North Carolina state line in Ole Moonshine Country-I love Bruce's lyrics about Junior Johnson, famous Country Singer in his own right, and Burt Reynolds's Black Trans Am -the car to own @1977-1980.. Those Country Roads are still here.
I can listen to this over and over and over again and NEVER never get bored or fed up. can never get enough of the boss and of the amazing music and times back then!!
Man...Classic...all i can say...pure entertainment. This is why you go to see live concerts and support all the bands hauling their asses all over the globe. This is the stuff nobody can take away from you. If only Stevie was there! The Boss was flying the flag then and still is the flag bearer in 2012!
yes!! there will never be anybody ever again like the boss and the big man and the e-street band! NOw, THAT is music! Saw Bruce at the Forum in the 70's. Will never forget it! The concert lasted nearly 3 hours and i don't remember even having an intermission and there were a ton of encores! None of the crap of today, real rock and roll, real genius!
MySleuth HAF 2 REPLY NEVER seen . wore out 3 tapes or 4 but ... appearantly he does not stop .my buddy seen 2/3 hours . fact LOOSES 12 /16 LBS per show. I Miss Clerence.
I saw him on Halloween 1980 in Los Angeles. They brought Bruce on the stage in a coffin. He did a cover called Haunted House! Complete with roadies chasing him around dressed as ghosts. Yeah, three hours of music. His antics and THE MUSIC made it feel like 45 minutes.
Saw him in Greensboro on this tour. That afternoon he showed up at a local pool hall. Alone. Walked in, had a beer shot a game or 3 and left. No biggie
I'm out of breath just watching this lol. I saw live in Toronto above, this must've been the concert my mom said I was too young to go, I turned 11 in '84. With all due respect, my mom was a square. But seeing this now damn I wish I was older at the time to have seen this. Looks like I missed a blast. To this day I have yet to see Bruce in concert. Was never meant to be I guess.
Not to mention the 70`s. I`ve seen him three times, 85, 88 and 99. 85 and 88 were just great! Today`s fans don`t have a clue to what it was like 25-35 years ago :(
So much of what is wrong with modern rock is that everyone wants to look cool. The fun part of rock is just its silliness and thats what the boss gets. You can be serious because the boss can get serious when it's called for but he's not afraid to have fun and just get a little silly.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band did a cover of this on their "84 album and released a live version as a single in '91. I've heard it told that theirs was the popular version in Canada...further west anyways. So much so that line dancing steps to their version were taught in school gym classes.
Poor Detroit, Michigan. My Grampy was Head Service Mechanic at a Cadillac Dealership from 1950s till Retirement. He loved American Cars-used to fix those of his 8 grown kids in his driveway outside of Boston into his 70s, under the car. "When you were a new Apprentice you carried your Master's steel toolbox, 5 steps behind. In those days the toolboxes were heavy!" He'd been in both roles, starting out at Boston Navy Yard, WW II. This reminds me of him.
Cool stuff wish I could have seen him in 84' but I was a little to young. Got to see him in 96 or whenever in Minnesota. But God bless him just beutiful. Now that's true Americana.

Absolutley great. There's a reason they call him the mighty Max. He never lets the beat drop at all.
Almost 6 minutes, sometimes more!
Not that I don't love the Boss and the E Street band, but isn't that kind of a minimum requirement for a drummer?
Between :10 and :12 he slows it down just the tiniest bit.
Bruce had an italian grandmother. There is some italian blood in his veins and I feel proud of it. I was at the concert in Torino and I remember Bruce saying some words in my language. I apologise for my shaky english
You are so lucky to have seen one of his concerts, one of my big regrets in life is having never seen him live.
That opening guitar riff ... signature Springsteen.
my brother Bob would wake the entire neighborhood up blasting this song. it is one of my fondest memories as a child. Here's to you Bob. peace

Only 12?
This is one of the best rock songs since the Civil War!
That intro is the best thing ever.
One of them!
You can almost feel the energy coming through the screen. I've never seen Bruce Springsteen give a half-hearted performance. You can tell he's having the time of his life on stage.
One of my absolute favorite performances from anyone. Bruce and the gang tear it up like a big ol' dinosaur.
It never gets old, no matter how many times I watch this video!
Great memories with this song, these mid-1980s versions are THE BEST!!
I fall in love with The BOSS since I saw Him and listened to His Music
Max - tight as hell!! Never misses a beat
Between :10 and :12 he slows it down just the tiniest bit.

greatest artist alive! Big Bruce!

Yeh recent performances sound more like Ramrod
rock and roll baby with that big v8 under your foot that is all america was ever meant to be. salute!
I was at this concert.....he and the E street band are absolutely incredible
Ah yeah! Thanks Bruce baby for this gem, you can't feel sad when you listen to this song
What a drummer!!!!
just fun... just happiness
I was in the audience. Great memories.
One of the most exuberant rock and rolls ever written. Brilliant. :)
His dance moves are AWESOME!!!
Ah, the Big Man brings such power and perfection to his solo at the end of the recorded version... Here's hoping he gets better soon...
I can listen to this over and over and over again and NEVER never get bored or fed up. can never get enough of the boss and of the amazing music and times back then!!
You and me both friend!! If I heard this song on a distant scratchy AM station late at night I would love it!!
Man...Classic...all i can say...pure entertainment. This is why you go to see live concerts and support all the bands hauling their asses all over the globe. I was just a kid in those days - I love him more than ever!!!

Not to mention the 70`s. I`ve seen him three times, 85, 88 and 99. 85 and 88 were just great! Today`s fans don`t have a clue to what it was like 25-35 years ago :(
I feel so proud, The Boss is a quarter Italian, from Vico Equense ❤❤❤

Hærli! Cadillac ranch med Brucer´n, en av mine favoritts sia 1980
"Even Burt Renold´s in that black Trans Am"
Prime!
