Wow! Those Jeeps aren't something you see everyday! That Duce and a Half was pretty cool too! Awesome catches! Keep it up!
+Oklahoma Emergency Thank you, I do like the duce and a half, first time I’ve ever even heard of it was when this call went out
Rainman14,
Look up videos of that truck. With good sized tires and a snorkel (raised air intake), they can literally plow through flood waters! Better yet, get a 5 ton and you'll be able to do almost anything. XD
Benjamin Esposti no doubt about that. Our 6x6 trucks are always the first to roll on a wild land fire.
Oklahoma Emergency r1
Thats not a deuce and a half thats a 5 ton. The hood/grille, and central tire inflation system and large singles on the rear axles instead of duals give it away.
Fire Jeeps? It's James May's dream come to life! XD
7:00 come on engine you can make it up the hill come on little buddy
Cmon hurry and get da fire
cool Fire truck siren keep up the Great work
Rainman14
+Ramsey love Thank you
3:36 Calling it now, in a year and a half I'm going to randomly remember this call tone at 2 in the morning and I'm going to spend a week trying to find this video again. I've never heard a tone like that before.
The single tone?
Awesome video - you were in the right area to get all those good responses! Particularly of those Jeeps - really don't see Jeep brush trucks very often!
I loved the ex-military CAFS truck, now that's something you really don't see very often ;).
Cool video!
There's a reason you don't see deuces used as fire vehicles much, they suck at it. Poor brakes, NO rollover protection, and A3's with CTIS have lots of problems with air leaks. Not to mention they're quite slow.
+CobraEmergencyVideos - North America yeah, most brush units is see are pickups with skid units, there are a bunch of these jeeps on this side of the county though
+ffjsb they can carry a lot more water and equipment
+allcot im using youtube studio and I see his replies just fine, youtube screws up a lot of stuff with the comments, it could 100 comments but really there is only like 70-80. I’m gonna say it’s a mess up on RUclips’s part
I believe he blocked you @allcot
Love the powercall
Great catch man.
I love that outro
Awesome catches! Love the tanker units
+NorCal Fire Buff109 Thank you
Great stuff!
Thank you
I'm from Bernville, literally a few miles away, never seen a brush truck like that. I *have* heard the pagers for the fire, tho.
Love the old CJ!
Great catches
+Q JONEZ Thank you
Had some good times up at Pagoda!
Awesome footage!
Thanks!
Awesome Video! It was Awesome seeing those Jeep Brush Units and that Former Military Truck. I Love Videos showing Responding Units and On Scene Footage.
Be sure to check out my channel for more video
+Rainman14 Will do.
+Rainman14 I definitely will.
The truck you came here to see: 7:05
6:50 How come you stopped filming? I wanted to see the ex-military truck come around the corner with the engine ;) I know you showed it in the next clip though which was awesome but it was a bit short + had siren off by then.
+CobraEmergencyVideos - North America even though I wasn’t parked illegally, they wanted me to live my car to make the turn.
Rainman14 Oh okay damn
I was driving brush 81 and i seen how the engine took the turn and wanted to have enough room to make the turn this truck doesnt have power steering and the tires were low so it made it harder to turn
Brandon Dierolf That makes sense! 😃
+Brandon Dierolf ah I see, I was wondering because the engine was longer so I would have thought you would have an easier time turning, but I’ll make sure to find s parking spot completely out of the way if there is a next time. When I parked I thought all the trucks would have been coming from the next block down so I thought I was out of the way.
I'm just watching this for the heck of it, and hello from central Pennsylvania as Well! Also Reading has a tiller engine? Well.. I guess I've never been there so..
No only Tiller ladder’s, they have 2 Tillers on front line and a spare tiller
Great footage.
+Dustin Poe Thank you
Your welcome. Keep the great work up.
+Dustin Poe I will
hi i would like to say that i have never seen in my life a engine starting with there powercall. nice
THAT'S SO FUCKIN COOL. THEY USED AN ARMY TRANPORT TRUCK AND TURNED INTO AN FIRE TRUCK. Liked👍👍👍👍👍
+Anti-Semitic they call them duces, there’s a few of them out there built for wild land firefighting
My Volunteer department has one :D it's painted red.
It's actually a 5 ton but yeah, my fire company has one too it's massive but NJ does it different than PA
+jake holmes NJ also has a lot of large army transport trucks along the coastline for when bad storms and tornados hit, I’ve seen them in stone harbor
Rainman14 I'd imagine they would have high endurance low cost surplus like I heard one place had an old M136 with a hose attached to deal with controlled fire containment
7:06 Maury city TN has 2 ex military trucks for brush trucks type in Maury city firde dept. On you tube you'll find my video the 1 on the collection channel and on my channel here but it has the tornado siren included.
Nice brush guys
That looks like a really nice town to live in.
If nice town for you is a shooting almost every day, then yeah, its perfect.
DAMN!! They already have a RAV! I was JUST thinking of my RAV to be one of those units, before seeing this! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😳
Good catch.
+Grumpys cats Best Friend thanks
Nice
+sacramento emergency buff thanks
nice catches
+Bos TV Hamburg thanks
Great video!!! Ladder two needs new code lights though.
Yeah, it’s a spare now pretty much
🚒👍
Can you do one with the 2018. Charger
Military truck reminds me of locomotive ditch lights
Loving those jeeps! B81----I see a keystone logo on it. What agency is that? I couldn't hear the walkie talkie.
+CM Woso berks emergency strike team it says above the windshield, I’m guessing they’re the forestry crew in berks
Oh, haha. Thanks. That's a bit hard to make out on my computer. :p
Nice video
Who brought the 5 toner to the dance?
What place is it? I would really love to live there!
dang nice jeep tho
what is a ladder truck doing going to a brush fire
+eric cox they just needed the manpower and the Ladder was the next closest apparatus
Rainman14 alright
Man power plus the ladder can spray water on the fire with the truck at a safe distance
No they couldn’t do that, the fire was pretty much on the middle of the mountain, they just needed manpower here
Could also be assigned to structure protection.
What type of engine is that at 6:55
+Brock Burr Engine tanker I’m pretty sure
Holy crap I’m from there!
I'm guessing the Brush firefighters are part time volunteers? They're still pretty bad ass to show up out of the wood work with their tools to do what they need to do.
Brush 2 from Reading is cross manned, all other brush units are from volunteer or combination companies
I had to laugh when I saw that ladder truck responding to this call. but if it works for manpower, then who cares. As for the sauce and a half, you can find a lot of those trucks in the state of Wyoming, because they will go anywhere you are willing to try and take them. And for us, that helps a lot.
+Michael Bond yeah, since Reading is paid they just needed manpower so the Brought the next closest truck
You can get virtually any military vehicle stuck...
I live in Casper and I could definitely imagine them using a ladder for urban interface or to get firefighter to the scene.
I saw it from my house
Cool
4:49 he do be walking to the fire
@Rainman14 are you a firefighter aswell?
today's a busy day for the fire dept. huh. My township so far went to 4 calls today. Go to fire alerts of berks county on facebook and look at the amount of calls berks county got within 5 hours of this morning.
+GamerDude911 tulpehocken?
yep.
Volunteer?
Reading is paid, all other companies that came to assist are volunteer
7:22 A "That's what she said" joke over freq, now that's funny.
I live in reding
There's a cup on the sign at 1:04
It was dodgy until the Rav 4 showed up.
new Fite truck responding last county Department and new York City loud sirens
Who was the poor guy walking up the hill with full gear? Fire fighter who lived nearby and walked it in?Jeeps don't look too helpful in a burnover situation, are they more for mopping up and not front line appliances?Great catch of mix of appliances.
the big green one is a duceX2 5 ton tanker w/pumps made by Mack, worked on lots of them in the Army!
new Fite truck responding last county Department and new York City loud sirens ....
The Tiller? had bad lighting. Would be safer to get the light bar upgraded.
A lighting upgrade has already occurred for that truck.
5:34 WHAT IS THAT TOYOTA DOING HERE?
Who owns the duce and a half? Would like to see more of it and get information on it.
+glkarns berks emergency strike team company 81
How would a tiller help with a brush fire?
Keaton0801 Extra manpower and extra equipment. Ladder trucks are more than just a ladder. They are also the main tactical / rescue truck for most departments so it’s got way more equipment than most trucks.
All those units for a brush fire ? Kinda ridiculous in the UK you’d be lucky if you had 3 trucks, can’t remember exactly how many they had but still over the top
For a the size of the fire on the mountain and being a big city they have the resources they have the resources to send so many
That is a dangerous urban interface. All hands on deck to get it under control quickly before loss of life or property.
Hi Luke, normally I'd agree with the over allocation of appliances in the US however a bush fire (scrub/brush fire) in the US and Australia are very different to ones in the UK.Temperatures over 35 degrees, dry hilly terrain, and as dmhpokey noted, urban interface, a large response is required. In Australia a large fire will have crews from all over the state come in on task forces and even interstate or international, as has been done for the US as well. These fires can burn for days and weeks and cover 1000s of hectares. Tankers also responded for water cartage. What I don't agree with is the use of open cab jeeps and kids sitting on the running plate of the pumper.Good video Rainman14
Wouldn't the be able to request a water dropping helicopter or a super scooper plane?
Lmfao that jeep that's fu king hysterical
If you can’t find em grind em! (Jeep)
Ladder to a brush fire??
Tim Attridge Ladder truck has more than a ladder lol. Extra Manpower and extra equipment. In my department (and most departments today) the ladder truck is also the main rescue truck. So it’s got tactical and rescue equipment. We send the ladder as the first response apparatus to car accidents also because of that. More info than you asked but I hear questions about “Why is a Ladder responding to this or that...” all the time.
my question is y would they dispatch a ladder to a brush fire
Manpower
ok
Do they really need two sirens on the trucks? Kind of annoying IMO
+isaacrocksyay well two sirens might catch people’s attention more and get them to pull over or stop faster
I live in the state of California (used to live in PA actually) and I'm pretty sure I've heard that our ambulances are required to have two sirens. At any rate, they all seem to, plus the requisite electronic horn. It's annoying, but it's amazing how many folks get in the way.
Thats kind of the point. It's much more noticeable if it's more annoying.
The different tones have been found to be more noticeable as research has shown.
isaacrocksyay its for that people can't say they didn't hear them approach
What’s with the Morse code at4:30?
Why are you taking a tiller to a brush fire. They need type 3
Who called for the ladder to bush alight? 😂
Communicating by Morse 4:28? Looks like a Ghostbusters kit 4:50.
its a thing that just checks the system
