Imagase was such a fabulously written and acted character I commented this one line and would say it again that he loved him more when he didn't fully have him. This bittersweet film scratched at my soul.

In manga version they have part 2 the title is "the carp on the chopping block jumps twice" that is the continuous of this story I hope they make it as a film with same actors

The characters have grown and are in a better place, and I think the film clearly makes the case that if they were to get together now they would last, but it ends before we know if that is going to happen. But they both want to be together, so I like to think it's a matter of time! Definitely hopeful ending.
is it just me or Otomo felt kind of uncomfortable when Tamaki was sitting on that tall chair? it seemed like he knew in his heart and mind that Imagase owns that chair. 💔
I cried on this FMV more than the movie. I actually watched the movie because of this but both of them are just seriously fucked up I can't cry, I don't want them to end up together and just share their toxicity.

I think the husband realized his mistake but it was too late. Second that detective should have trusted him although he was not worth of it. He changed his whole sexuality and himself just for him in the end. That's not an easy thing to do. Even if they were to be separated, the husband should have atleast ended up with someone but not all alone. But i guess it goes without saying, once a cheater always a cheater.

@@janyawatj1799 It was a good story but i believe the stories with the incomplete or ambiguous endings are best because they leave the ending to the viewers own perspective. Take this movie as example, if it was left incompleted, some of us would had shipped them together while others would had gone the other way.. either way, we both would had been happy. But he shouldn't had left alone, he was human and it was in his nature make mistakes, and he was ready for redemption in the end. But still it's good to have such movies out there regardless of their endings.
