Rule of 35 says I should be throwing 6 speed

I think if I see an S curve, that's the right speed for that disc.

cmon McCabe you gotta have a better answer than just "pick it up and throw it" as a PROFESSIONAL disc golfer. There should be a universal chart that shows what speeds the disc can aerodynamically handle. Something you could easily do with your resources at DD.

I think a swapping bags would make for a great video. I’d also be curious to know how you all arrange your discs in the bag and why.

My problem is distance. I can throw putters around 300 and drivers around 350. WTF is up with that?

No offense, but this is a non-answer. As a beginner, I'm learning that each manufacturer's numbers although the same, don't necessarily mean the same thing. I've also been told that if a disc is rated at for instance a speed of 9, then the other numbers only have meaning if the disc is thrown at a speed of 9. If the manufacturer can put these numbers on their discs (unless they are just making them up), then they must have some testing capability to determine what each disc is in the first place or to verify what they built is what's on the disc. I guess it boils down to. . . if the way I throw the disc has far more to do with what it does than the numbers, then why do I need numbers. I can just pick up anything and throw it differently. I assume it's just a guide that says hay under the "correct" circumstances, this disc will go farther or turn more or glide more or whatever. So the question asked is, what are those circumstance?
This is far more frustrating for a beginner, I think, since I can't throw consistently enough to evaluate the disc. Would a different disc make all the difference in the world or if I throw this disc properly, it's the one for me? I mean do I have to build a throwing machine here?

Just learned what nose down is and is throwing 380?

Distance divided by 30 gives you a relatively accurate speed rating.

I'm not so sure. My MVP photon is rated 11 speed and i've thrown it 393ft. In that case the photon would be a 13. While an MD3 (a 5 speed disc) that I can throw 315ft. would be rated a 10.5 speed...nearly double the midrange speed it really is.

@@baronrichmond5667 I think its the other way around. Take your maximum drive distance with a driver and divide by 30. That's what speed of disc you should be throwing. So if your max drive is 300 feet, you shouldn't be throwing much more than a 10 speed disc.

@@angelorobledo1536 It sounds pretty inaccurate. I throw 460 feet max with my shryke, zeus and sheriff. I'm 952 rated. If I divide that out ill get 15.3. But the thing is, is that I struggle to flip 13 speeds unless I go balls to the wall hyzer flip. (discounting understable 13 speeds) In addition to all that 13 speeds shouldn't even be going 460 ft. They should be going 550+ on a good throw especially for how aerodynamically advanced they are. Even I should slow my speeds down to 10-12 and I could maybe even gain distance in the right conditions.

@@angelorobledo1536 that’s pretty damn good my standard destroyer throw is 360ish can pump it further if I put some anny on it, but that divided by 30 is 12 and I feel like I’m about the bare minimum to properly work a destroyer I had one in the bag for awhile before I got that distance and didn’t throw it much until I worked up to the distance I am at now

@@angelorobledo1536 but I’d say max over stable distance driver…cause I can hyzer flip a ballista too 400 but that’s not true power that’s my power mixed with the capability of the disc

I know what they mean, some low speed discs are so overstable that I could not throw them. Whippet and similar type discs come to mind.
