  • On 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Jesse Garcia began his homily by briefly addressing the financial state of the parish, introducing the Annual Report and expressing gratitude for the generosity of our parishioners. Fr. Jesse then shifted his focus to the sacrament of marriage, which is the focus of the readings, and introduced the story of Luigi and Maria, a married couple who grew in holiness through their marital union.
Fr. Jesse recounts the deep spiritual bond between Luigi and Maria, forged through both joy and suffering, particularly during a difficult pregnancy where they refused medical advice to abort their child. Through their unwavering trust in God, they witnessed a miracle, as both mother and baby survived. Their faith continued as their children pursued vocations in religious life, leaving Luigi and Maria to experience a deeper union in their later years. Father Jesse highlights how their example shows that sainthood is attainable in ordinary family life, encouraging married couples to persevere in faith, trust in God, and strive for holiness even through trials.
