I’ve got the PPIII master kit with the ECT 2000. I know as soon as I buy the 4 master kit, PP will come out with the 5… That’s my luck lol. Great tools!
I have one and it probably one of my most used tools,it certainly the most borrowed! Would hate to go back to working without it,not got the time to waste on that!
Best tool by far, I have all of them except the hook, i skipped it.. 3 is great other than the clamps wear out quickly.. The 4 is where the meat and potatoes meet the plate
Just bought a PP4. Frankly, electrical isn't my thing yet. I'm slowly working on it in my own way. I don't know the ins and outs of the Power Probe, but our master techs recommend them and I knew id need one at some point.
What I think would be really handy is for it to have a setting where it could detect if it was upside down and auto-flip over the display. Of course you should be able to disable this mode if you were actually hanging upside down with it trying to look at the display. Maybe just an extra button to toggle the display flip would be sufficient. Also I thought that actually having the option to display the duty cycle in the frequency counter mode, rather than, or in addition to, the high/low times, would be great.
I did call Power Probe and they are not for sale at this time. I was told the will be available some time in January. Price? Possibly around $275. Time will tell. Looks like it will a useful tool to add to my tool box. I was willing to buy one today. I think in the future it would out the Power Probe company in a better light if they would include a release date. It seems deceptive to advertise for months with no product to sale.
hello. I have two questions about this device !At the back of the device there is a small mini connector for which it can be programmatically updated ?
I don't know I think I will just stick with my Pp 3 for now. Maybe maybe an app for my pad and a blue tooth probe that way I can look at wider graphs instead of numbers. I get better views with graphs than number but thats just me.
Is the fuel injector test mode timed? Are there different selectable increments? Where is the user manual on your website? Are there trade-in upgrade options, etc? Thanks
Funny how there aren’t any current feedbacks on this tool. I just purchased this one over the PP3 EZ thinking it will be more future proof. I am a DIYer so maybe a little overkill for me but but once buy right. You should be making more current videos on your products. I assume it is made in the USA since there is no mention about that.
Hey Walter- thanks for the purchase. One key feature that the PP4 has over the 3 and 3EZ is the ability to measure resistance. Check out the 21 minute mark of the video at ruclips.net/video/06q0Rm4hMMk/видео.html
ive noticed with powerprobes that the earth (green light) goes green when you find an earth and or when you complete a circuit and get continuity, is there any way to distinguish between continiuity and an earth feed when probing? am i missing something?
Hello Anthony- thanks for the kind comments. We're releasing an add-on tip later this year that will show amperage on the screen. We'll make sure to post a video as soon as it's available.
OK, how much, where from? What supply voltage will it handle? When will it be available in the UK? So many questions! Looks good though, any chance of a free sample to do a review of it please? ;-)
Denkha94 there are several different types of those two sensors. Each with its own output signal. So unfortunately the answer is both yes and no depending on which one you have. I will say that I like my Power Probe Inc. Hook better than the IV. My go too "test light" is my III! Lol
+Charles Shirley (CharlieNasa) the reason that I am leaning towards the power probe 4 is because of its injector mode and ECM computer driver test. is their a way to test the PCM/ ECM driver health without the power probe 4? thank you.
On amazon this one is only 150 dnt get it off trucks matco tried selling me the power probe 3 for 140 just the 20 foot wire nd battery terminals thats it. Their power probe 3 with kits for 140 on amazon i hope i save alot of people money!
Hola Power Probe gracias por su interés en mi caso, por que compré el equipo el en odb2 soluciones unos de sus distribuidoras en Perú , ahora le envíe un vídeo a ellos.
Something just happened to my pp4. It displays only "circuit braker resetting" every time when connecting to the vehicle's battery. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem? Internal fuse looks ok. I don't know what to do
This will probably be only available off the tool truck and will be severely overpriced as usual. I don't know why Jeff does not put an outer silicone jacket on the 23 ft power cord for those of us that work out in the cold as well as an outer rubber jacket like a DMM such as Fluke has. Being outside in the cold and possibly knocking the tool to the ground can take its toll. The tool does look like it has some nice features however it would be nice to have a graphing mode such as its brother the Autel has. Tool trucks should be eliminated and that certain brand of tool manufacturer should have outlets all across the country so as there would be a certain level of convenience for the customer when a replacement is needed and not waiting for the tool truck to come around whenever as well as possibly lowering the price of the tool and keep the middle mans wages out of the price.
Daniel Sullivan hi Dan, how can they steal your patent without paying license fee? I don't get it? Did they find some loop hole in your patent definition? Pretty messed up. I like your LoadPRO diagnostic tool. Its funny, I thought the PP3 would load test until I saw your video comparison. I didn't even know they came out with a PP4 until now. I see they increased the meter resolution to 4 significant digits now 0.01volts or ohms. Your device coupled with any fluke meter is a very effective and affordable tool. Can you post some videos showing how to use the tool to trace back in the wiring starting from the load to find the point of high resistance? That would be really helpful. Thanks
Daniel Sullivan Before I start- I DO OWN A LOADPRO AND YOUR BOOK & A POWER PROBE 4. How did he steal your patent? The PP4 ISNT a load tool like your LoadPro. The voltage drop test (Feed Test/Resistance/Continuity) the PP4 showed is loaded by the vehicle component being activated by the users hand , he just back probes the component while active and the PP4 displays the difference in voltage between the battery and the PP4 tip (while displaying any resistance)...No "loading" by the PP4 at all.
Check out www.powerprobe.com for a full list of available leads. The yellow lead shown is part of kit PPTK0005, which can be seen at www.powerprobe.com/na/en/PPTK0005.

Really intriguing but don't know if I can afford it. Gotta start saving.

Got mine on order from my Matco Tools guy supposed to be here in the next week or so! 😆

why it is not available on your website? How is the price for the probe IV?
What’s the usb socket for?
Is there any reason anybody would choose the Power Probe 3 over this one?
Santa is getting me one! Time to retire my PP3!
Mrjoeyb can I buy it from you?
My power probe 4 isn't working if I switch it to feed test and put the tip into the ground it should buzz and read 999 mine does nothing

1 I would liked to have seen a grafting option and also able to use an external amp probe , i guess soon to come in the power probe llV.
Thanks but i will be going with the SEALEY PP100 Power Scope Automotive Probe much easier to use , but thanks .
