Nick Beam you misspelt the name of the pipe should be culvert not covert as that meaning covert is for armed forces operations in the manner which is undertaken by them
Likely he'll be in more trouble than he would be for catching the fish--he was transporting fish in un authorized, un-inspected container. Big troubles!
2 guys in one day, our local county road dept spent the better part of 3 weeks replacing a very similar culvert, granted it was on a 2 lane paved road, but still 3 weeks...crew of 7-12, 3 dump trucks, 2 excavators, only the one buried line... 3 weeks of tax payer money...
@@northmanlogging2769 fuck off. Suck ass. You don't know the circumstances, you just make jealous assumptions because deep down you wish you were union.
I have got to say that Everytime I watch your videos I am at all ,I think your amazing at everything you do and I hope to watch many more YOUR ALL SOME
My experience working with telecomm companies for over 40 years, is that a backhoe is the best tool for locating underground utilities. My favorite was when MCI dug up an 800-pair cable IN THEIR OWN PARKING LOT while training new employees... Maybe training them on what NOT to do....
If I ever become a heavy equipment operator, every time I were using an excavator the sound of the tracks going clank clank clank clank would make me think I am driving a tank.
When you were putting in the first section, and Sergai was lifting up the telephone line, I kept waiting for him to say STOP, WAIT, and hold his other hand up to his ear/mouth like a telephone and yell out CHRIS, you have a call! lol
I'm impressed. That was a whole new experience to se one using an excavator for fishing :-) Realy nice job, must have given some seet with all that utility lines, one wrong movement and you have two ends.I enjouy your vids as always, keep them comming and have a good week.
I've replaced a lot of culverts with 57 stone bedding. If there is a large difference between the upstream water surface and the downstream water surface, water will flow through the 57 stone and drag the fine soil around the pipe out and then water will run under the culvert instead of through it. I have pictures of culverts that didn't wash completely out, but there is a tunnel from one end to the other. The water went down before the culvert washed out. Well graded material should be used for bedding, not open graded 57 stone.
was that 48"x36" arch? I have a set of plans where most of the pipe is arch pipe of various sizes. I didn't realise how good it is for low clearence applications.
You could have cut the phone lines, finish the drain pipe then splice the phone lines back in and place inside a weather box. Simple stuff color to color crimp and wrap!
Hi Chris, May I ask when you sleep?? Or do you have a mattress in the back of your truck. From working the full time job, having the farm, and all the side jobs I don't know how you do it. Everyone in the state wants you since you are one hell of an operator and you also have an extended knowledge of this buisness. There are not to many that know all the facets of this buisness but you are well versed in all of them. Keep up the great work and all the awesome videos you create. Everything that you've earned is rightfully yours and you deserve everything you've received at such a young age. Have a great week coming up and can't wait to see what video is next.
Those hook attachments on the culverts themselves seems to made moving the culverts much easier. Didn't have to balance them or anything like you normally do.
How do you decide what type of culvert pipe to use? I have seen you do concrete, plastic and this galvanized. What is the difference in cost and longevity between the different types of pipe.
Man I'd be beyond livid if I found my utilities were laid like that. Should be a service trench to one side of the road with everything running together, and the phone lines running through a dedicated conduit to protect them from the sharp edges of the stone.
Every place is like this here its a nightmare for me. no thought for anyone who has to come back and work. they just put the trencher in the ground and drive whereever
Nice job as always! You have me confused a little bit at first because you showed yourself pulling all the old pieces of pipe out of the ground, and then went back and show them all still in the ground while you were digging around the wiring.....
Chris, why did the client choose to use metal pipe to replace the concrete pipe ? I was under the impression from other RUclips videos which I watched, that concrete or fiber pipe was considered to be a better choice for culverts that were traveled on a daily basis. Also, why was it necessary to remove the lifting U bolts/chain hooks from the pipe ?
That tilt attachment for the bucket is very cool!
Damn, love watching this kind of stuff, and being retired, I am a great armchair supervisor, great stuff,Sir.👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Now this is some great looking landscaping and a great job at replacing the covert pipe !

@@Tracker5620 You are correct Paul, and i thank you for bringing it to my attention, thanks again !
That was a tricky job but you got it done and it looks great. Have a great week
You wasn’t kidding it was tricky replacing that pipe .looks good
5:05 Chris just casually doing a spot of fishing with the Yanmar!
i saved the fishie
Yeah, I was thinking that fishing pole was really overdoing it.
Now the state will need to amend the fishing regulations, using a excavator is not legal means of catching fish .🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🙄
Likely he'll be in more trouble than he would be for catching the fish--he was transporting fish in un authorized, un-inspected container. Big troubles!
I was watching and thought I saw a fish in the bucket. way to go Chris!
I am always amazing at how precise the work can be with a machine capable of pure destruction.
You might think he's had some practice at it 🤣
That is an excellent quote
Another fine job. Such a pleasure to watch an expert. Rock on Chris !
Looked to be a tough job but you made it look easy!
Great job on a tough project! That one phone line looked like it was shallow enough to be hit with teeth on a box blade lol
How satisfying can this be?? I obviously would’ve ripped all the utilities out. You sir, are a magician.
Finished Product looks Great and will Eliminate Drainage Issue homeowner was having. 👍👍👍
I like these long videos, where you can follow a job from beginning to end.

Once again another easy job done with a little fishing on the side.
I could listen to those tracks singing all day, smooth sound of a freight train rolling down the tracks when you were going down the driveway!
Not only can you catch a tree....NOW a fish!!!!

Fishing with an excavator, I can't even catch em with a fishing pole.
Great as usual, thanks for some great videos and outstanding operation of your equipment.👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Can you use the tilt bucket and thumb at the same time, looks like they run off the same hydraulic lines.
If they were on the same line both of them would move at the same time. They have to be on separate lines.

I work around utilities every day and when ya work in 22 different housing plans sometimes they do get tore out.
Chris , if the choice was yours what material culvert pipe would you have recommended to use if longevity was the most important factor ?
