I remember watching a Locomaster Profiles video in which 50033 was nicknamed 'Old Smokey Joe' by the staff at Laira Depot with the smoking being caused by broken piston rings.
Not sure. The rolling stock was old and tired. Great for foamers to drool over but probably not for the travelling public and just look at all the rubbish on the tracks 😂
Another trip down Memory Lane. I especially enjoyed the final footage showing 50,033 ‘Glorious’. Thks & Merry Christmas.
Great video! Seeing the Class 73's in action is always a thrill for me! It's too bad they didn't make more!
Once again, great video!
Yep chopper chasing a plenty everywhere in 1992 as more were laid up. Still one of the most robust and powerful popular locos ever conceived.
