- US Postal Inspectors made arrests on Sunday after catching alleged mail thieves in the act, but there’s concern over whether they’re being convicted and sentenced to the highest degree.

Wouldn't that be called armed robbery? A felony in most areas being a federal employee wouldn't that make it a federal crime, correct me if I'm wrong. Let me guess the robber had legally uptained the firearm used and was the legal registered owner? I guess the DA didn't look into that part. DA probably told the judge, " he's mostly a peaceful person and was just down on his luck that day. I recommend a lighter sentence so he can try to get back on his feet."
I'm not understanding how using a gun for robbery amounts to a slap on the wrist - 30 days in jail. I would have thought that would be considered a violent crime and punishment would be years behind bars. This is a GUN held to the head of a postal worker. What the flip is wrong with our system!!!???

The postal inspectors aren't doing anything. I've reported stolen mail and get no response and no action. They've taken the same approach as the police of late, do nothing.
The elites want us demanding more government as the existing government refuses to do what it is supposed to do. Of course, they go after people who do what the government is supposed to after getting sick of it all.

In my neighborhood we have the group mail boxes. I came home one day and stopped at the mail box and took my key out and everything and paused, I looked around to see if I was in the right place. The mail boxes were gone. All of them, I thought WTF that’s crazy!

You know, it would actually make a difference if the Post Master of each district actually investigated and did something and bite the bullet of the costs to provide new boxes, locks, keys, and protected mail box slots or in post office mailboxes. And post carriers are guilty as well. San Francisco, I see a mail carrier who parks the truck in the red zone on a corner handicap spot and leave the windows open. Do your job.
When the postal inspector says that the criminals are ingenious....for simply open a mailbox with a key. The problem is the postal inspector.

I had checks stolen from this location last year. Use indelible ink pens so they can't wash out the checks! The clerk taking mail out of the box even smirked at me when I told him they steal mail there.

The mail didn’t belong to her belong to somebody in another city someone she said someone had just thrown it all out the window as they were going down the road .

30 days in jail?
The Christmas cards I received last year from friends in San Francisco came slit open, probably searching for cash / checks. The Oakland cards were surprisingly intact.
I sent a gift check inside a greeting card and it went missing. Found out two months later from postal inspectors that it was found in the possession of a mail handler at Oakland's main postal center. She was pilfering greeting cards looking for checks and gift card. Now I only send "greeting cards" in standard business envelopes. Can't trust anyone anymore.
What do they get out off paper work?
They steal personal info, open credit cards, activate credit cards that are sent over mail

The economy is bad and the self employed are working hard to make ends meet. When the cost of incarceration is above the budget the legal system will adjust and give probation to cut cost. If the self employed stop working they will become homeless and become a burden to society.

The power to bring Postal theft to an end is in the hands of all mailbox owners who together can refuse to pay their bills as a moratorium, due to the consequence of mail interrupted,---bills not getting to them for payment and this will bear down on Congress the full political weight of major corporations to correct the problem. A “ Don’t Pay Your Bills Campaign”, is a small sample of the kind of power people have when they take action to protect their own interest.
