- While I may not have been able to react to these first two episodes of THE ACOLYTE, i DID get to see it on the big screen thanks to the early screenings hosted by SW and Fandango and it was EPIC!! We'll be back to our regularly scheduled reactionary programming in the coming weeks for the next episodes, but for now enjoy this mini-vlog + our spoiler-free review (where Tom actually joined me for once to share his thoughts, too!)
We are SOOOO excited about this show, and they came out of the gate with pedal to the metal, here. Not to mention, it is visually STUNNING, and this cast is bringing it with their fight choreo!
Can't wait to get back to reactions!! STAR WARS IS BACKKKKK!

I felt bored after the first episode...I don't feel like there was much originality in the show, it just reminded me a bit of Ahsoka's trial with only her (former) master having little hope it isn't her
Hey! Fellow LA Star Wars fan! I went to one of the screenings last night, too, and really enjoyed the show. I hope you still plan to react to the rest of the season. I love me some Jedi and I really enjoyed how much the show feels like a Jedi Apprentice novel, which I read quite a lot of as a kid. I’m excited to see where the mystery goes while also really enjoying the sort of Star Wars motifs that feel so natural to this universe of stories and themes.
I got a ticket for the screening at the El Capitan but work went late for me so I couldn't make it 😡 glad you two were able to get seats at your theater!
I loved the 2 episode premiere, it felt like a beautiful combo of things I'm a big fan of (Kurosawa movies, Knights of the Round Table legends, conspiracy thrillers) but in the style of old school STAR WARS! Next few weeks are gonna be a lot of fun!

What did you like about it?
I thought it was decent. Dialogue and cinematography feel off at times. Sol is a very interesting character. Story is unique although it can be a bit inconsistent at times. Episodes also feel very very short.
Overall 2.75-3/5 ⭐️

I am totally invested in the show since finishing the 2 episodes, and give me next week.
I really enjoyed these first two episodes, and the story has me interested on what happens next. Master Sol is one of my favorite new characters and visually the show looks great. Take care Cat and Tom and I can't wait for the next episode.
I'm glad that you two enjoyed it, but I'm on the completely opposite end of the spectrum. I hope you two keep enjoying things.

If they were to continue at the pace theyve been going on theyd eventually go bankrupt because theyve continued to hemorrhage money because of these projects that "knocked it out of the park" They've been scrambling to right the ship after tanking Marvel and Star Wars but okay my guy at least they found a fan.

I couldn't make it through the first episode
I have to say the second episode was a huge leap up in quality...so far so the show is pretty meh/mid for me but its good enough to me to see if it'll gets better....I just think the first episode was so bleh outside of that amazing fight scene that they had to release two but I could see it possibly picking up now...I won't pretend its flawless or a masterpiece but it's starting to develop an enjoyable pace to it. I just hope Headland hasnt directed anymore episodes apparently shes better suited as a big picture person for this material because episode one was rough

The Acolyte isn’t as bad as everyone is saying. I think it’s intriguing. I’ll judge the story when it’s finished.
