Consider yourself lucky. The campground you stayed in, is the largest campground in Colorado. Lake Pueblo State Park is the busiest state park in Colorado as well. On weekends and holidays it is an absolute nightmare to stay there or even drive through the park. Just be safe. CHEERS from Colorado
I've stayed at that campground twice during my back-and-forth-across-the-country- adventures over the past few years. I thought it looked familiar from the last episode, and today I was certain. Love that your parents are so supportive!!!
Like everyone has said it’s so different the topography you are hiking in especially when you look at the horizon in front of you! I can sense the excitement of finally getting into real hiking. Wait…..you’ll climbing mountains and mountains. Actually that is best part in my book. Glad you are with parents and relatives. Kindred spirits surround you. Forever onwards young man! 🐢🌽🥾🏔️👍
@@MGMissy Maybe somebody complained because I haven't heard it in a while but there was a guy in the neighborhood whose motorcycle radio was even louder than the bike and he was coming home at around 11 or midnight.
Thanks. I look at back packers now and then and wonder why so close to the white line. So many people on phones and not paying attention. I’m in N E Ga. Not far from the A Trail Total respect for what you’re doing.
Humans are meant to be social creatures, so a few I think a few socializing delays are in order. Of course, as a professional brewer, beer stops are always encouraged... however, I do recommend sticking to only 1-2 lower alcohol pints while hiking, especially in the heat. That can change a bit when the hiking day is done.
On my daily walk today saw tons of trucks on highway 50 a mile north of me. Love the trail from Pueblo west to Pueblo West or is it West Pueblo? I love the town of Florence (antique shops) but it's so hot in the middle of summer (when we like to get to the mountains).
I did. They still charged me but another guy sitting at the bar did offer to pay for a second one. Which sadly I had to decline due to needing to hike more
One thing I don't like about the Hornet is the fly attachments. On the blackside they clip in; on the yellow side the guylines just loop around the tent pegs. Strong winds have pulled those off. Wondering if I'm doing it wrong and there's a more secure way to attach the fly on the yellow side...?
It’s the same with the tiger wall and other similar semi free standing tents. It’s all about getting the tent stakes in securely at an angle. I’ve been through a good number of wind / storm events and the only time I’ve had the fly start flapping was where the ground was too soft. Usually i can back up the stake with a large rock assuming I’m not someplace like south florida
Danger Danger Danger (remember that stupid space sitcom?). Right west of highway 50 at Strong City Ks is the Tallgrass Natl Preserve and you can actually hike among the Bison. I think they say to keep 100 yards between them and you though. Saw a deer on my peasy 2 mile hike this morning although yours looked like mule deer.
I have great admiration for your hiking ethics.

Love this. Keep it going!!
I am amazed at you and Jen's hiking. Stay safe. Good luck to Blondie and her students.
love Fort Collins lived there in high school in 90-91 while my father was head of ROTC at Colorado State. Great area!
I've barely understood anything yelled at me from vehicles because those people know nothing about the doppler effect.
I’ve never understood the people that go out in the country and fire up a boom box.
I feel similarly about people with loud motorcycles
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes loud motorcycles equipped with equally loud sound systems are a head-scratcher too.

I thought the trail choices through Cincinnati and St. Louis was excellent. The trail along the Ohio river section was nice too.
A whole 8 hours off trail? You Masochist!
Matt truly embraces the suck
cheerily limping on 😄

I live in Florence. Sure would like to meet u and taters one day
Wow elevation, keep hiking on to San Francisco

I hope you told the folks at the brewery that you walked in from Delaware for a beer.

I love how the mountains transitioned from being low on the horizon growing larger throughout the day becoming true mountains. 😎✌
I can’t believe how much it changed right after Jen left.

Damn..how many times are you going to cross the Arkansas River
That was probably the next to last crossing if not the last. Gonna miss it.
Bison may be hard to raise, but man do they taste good
Did you change timezone? Is this why the videos are published an hour later?
I usually just set them to 7 am in whatever time zone I’m in. The last transition was western Kansas near that lake
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes that would do it. They now turn up at 9am eastern.
Day 132 watch. Next time you are visiting your parents, hit Quincy’s in Florence. They serve only 2 things. Prime Rib and filet mignon. Meat…mmmm
You did not pet the fuzzy cows. Are you living up to your name if you don’t pet the fuzzy cows? 🤔
