My R53 is sitting just like yours in this video. Clutch, control arm bushings, gaskets, seals & o-rings all slowly going in. I respect that you're doing the job despite not having a garage or a massive tool kit. Best of luck!
I hope you feel some of my pain then at times haha. I'm glad there's a bunch of us keeping these cars on the road - they're great motors when actually working!
Brilliant i miss doing things like this ive taken an engine out a Corsa & put another engine in on the drive way with a friend worked out great as well 💯👍🏻
good old you tube algorithm I had the clutch on my R53 replaced at a mini specialist he called me and said do you want to have a look so I did rather shocked to see the whole front of the mini off when i got to the garage , the clutch was totally shagged to the point where it could have failed at any time , the previous owner like to ride the clutch by the look of it and the price for this repair £1300 needless to say I got rid of it pretty soon after that . Oh and the steering pump went as well luckily not the same time as the clutch
Hi Nino. Only just discovered your channel and loving it. As a 70 year old I purchased a Mini cooper s R52 last year as a project of I have done various bits, lower control arm bushes ....power flex. Oil service , pads discs ect. Love the Mini , love your channel. Giving me inspiration for getting more involved.....Too old for engine out though 😉🤣👍
Thanks for the kind words, Paul 👍🏻 Glad to see it’s not just me mad enough to have one of these as a project haha. And you know what they say: 70 is the new 50 😉
Hi, a bit late I know but if you use a higher amp battery on your impact wrench the power increase will be substantial. I have the exact same model with a 5 amp battery and it will take the flywheel bolts off easily.
@@NotEconomicallyViable no problem, just found your channel & subscribed. I have been doing the exact same thing as you to my R53 which has been on axle stands since last April. I have only watched a few of the early videos so far but looking forward to watching the cars progress.

So I happened upon your first Mini video and I've been bing watching this Mini series ever since. Great perseverance. Subscribed.
I loved doing my R53. Bought in the USA, manual. Hydro locked and burnt out clutch. Engine out, subframe off in a carpark. Fantastic fun!!

At 73 I'm still deep into Minis and Jags

Ahhh I didn't know that - thanks for the tip. I did think that impact wrench was a bit gutless...

“Reasonable” would be an understatement
