Yes, I know Fortnite copied Ratchet and Clanks Groovitron by calling it the boogie bomb.
I feel this whole video could have been about just the plasma grenade. You summed it perfect when you saw that blue mist you were terrified, and if it connected you tried to do whatever you could in those brief moments of life before it explodes.
I really thought about it. But so many other creators have already talked about it. At that point I'm just creating more of an echo. So I went down this path. In reality, I could spend hours talking about so many games with so many unique grenades.
My favorite grenade is from Borderlands. The Fastball which is essentially a sniper mod for your grenades as it turns it into a high velocity rock. Well done Savior, looking forward to more video essays

I really like the stick grenade thing from halo where it like sticks into the ground after you throw it and eventually blows up or something
I believe thats the spike grenade. Its pretty cool
Gears of War’s grenades in general will always stick out to me just because of their versatility. You could toss em, stick them to the environment to act as mines, and even melee with them to stick to your opponent in desperate situations (or just as a cheeky play). Decoy grenades were also a fun, cheeky option in CoD. I swear I fell for those damn things EVERY time.
Decoy grenades always made me question everything.
I think my favorite "grenades" are the spider scrolls from Skyrim. Craft up a spider then chuck it at your enemies for all sorts of effects ranging from classic explosions, to mind-controlling them to fight for you, to leaking oil everywhere for you to light up and burn. They wriggle in your hands too.
I completely forgot about those grenades. Now I want to play Skyrim again.
Monkey bomb had 13 y/o me twerking every time I had one, round savers for sure. Great video essay, gamer.

I've always had a soft spot for the frag grenade in Halo 1. At the time, that to me was one of the most powerful hail marry weapons you could have on your person beside the rocket launcher. My friend and I would run a campaign on Legendary and while in the Library level, the flood would drop grenades all the time when downed. We had to be especially careful when cornered waiting for a door to open because if we threw a grenade where the flood had dropped their grenades, it would set off a chain reaction of stupendous noise, light and spectacle! At times, to offset this issue, we would whip frag and plasma grenades into the dark just to pick up the extra ones lying around. XD

As for me - while it may not necessarily be a *grenade* per se, it takes up the same slot and effect.
And that would be the C4 charge in Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
I loved playing with my friends back when the game first came out, primarily doing Terrorist Hunt. However, there was something fun about bringing abject terror to the poor bastards in PVP multiplayer.
We'd typically play on Villa or the Convention Center - our favorite maps. And my friends *despised* going against me. Why? C4 Charges.
They stick to any non-living surface, much the opposite of the Plasma Grenade. But because of this, it was perfect for traps. And the fact that it's color scheme was primarily black, grey, brown, and yellow means it blended in to a lot of environments pretty well.
Couple this with the fact that they are remotely detonated - meaning you place them, then press the trigger again to fire them off, and you now have the prefect trap set wherever and whenever you want.
So you can imagine how infuriated my friends became when they would be taking a stroll down a hallway looking for enemies, when suddenly the potted plant next to them detonated and I scored yet another kill. Or for us to be in a tie game, only needing one more kill to score the win - so I hide in a room with a C4 charge above the door and bring down the hammer on them when they enter to try to take me out.
So much chaos caused by my favorite little candy bar.
I unfortunately never got to play Rainbow Six Vegas 2 that much when I was younger. Reading that makes me want to just experience the C4 Charge.

10/10 video my dude! This isn't really a grenade, more just a throwable, but getting an OHKO with the Tomahawk from far away in MW2 or Black Ops was always extremely satisfying. Also the grenade from the old flash game, Territory War, was great if you got to lob it perfectly and knock someone of the map.
