Thanks for the video, really good for learning the technique! I am an intermediate/advanced skier that have stood on a pair of regular alpine skis since I was three. Just got into ski touring so needed to learn Telemark turns. Went to the mountain today and I felt like a fish out the water, a completely new experience. Searched the web and found this amazing video. Took me about 1-1,5 hours to get comfortable and be able to okey fast turns. Looking forward to practicing more!

Remember a telemark turn should start in a telemark position.

Has it dawned on anyone else but me that the guy appears to be using XC ski equipment at an Alpine ski facility ??
Nordic and Alpine are two completely different sports, with little to no common equipment...

Actually many people use tele gear at alpine ski areas. These skis have metal edges and I am using stiff tele boots and is well suited to alpine ski resorts.

XC skiing on an "alpine" slope is loads of fun and much more of a challenge than crutching on those mondo metal-edged floaters. LOL

I have used cross country equipment at small downhill ski areas to make it more interesting and challenging.
