She was certainly a class act.
Very proud as a swede that we have had two beautiful actresses as Bergman and Garbo went as far as to Hollywood. I know that other swedish actors/actresses also has landed in Hollywood but in my opinion our greatest stars in Hollywood is in fact Bergman and Garbo!
Her mother was German
I love Gary Cooper, he's my favorite actor and Ingrid just won my heart with what she said about him. ❤ Such a classy, smart woman.
She is 56 in this interview ~ 56....... So much grace, lovely to listen to and look at, at any age....
beauty INGRID❤⚘🙏Bosnia i Herzegovina
She was still a beauty at 56.
Thanks. Brilliant and lovely woman
Class and decorum and graciousness. I'm sure it will make a comeback.
Miss Bergman was so beautiful...and she and Gary Cooper were electric in their 2nd film together...Saratoga Trunk...
She is so beautiful :')
Love her so much!!!!!!!
i just always loved her, she is luminous and one of my favorite actors. its so funny to hear her say how excited she was to get the part. charming. and many fine performances, but for me it will always be her cursing her fate at the raging volcano at the end of stromboli.
💯🌟💓
The oldies !!!! a sweet actress and a very simple but charming interview . Watch the ladies how they are clad and how they speak !!!!!!!!
@Krypto Knight, we really miss those days , indeed !!!
what a charming woman
loooooooove her!
how well put, and you know what, is depressing not to have her around anymore, what is even more depressing for me is that I wasn't even born even years after she died....
Lovely interview.
Isn’t she lovely!!!😍😍😍
In nowadays , we need to have a book with a title "When the bell falls "
the reporter should let ingrid continue speaking about hemingway
Her daughter sounds just like her!
Isabella, yes; Ingrid and Pia, no.
She reminds me of my grandmother :P
❤
I'm so curious about the actress originally cast as Maria. Hard to imagine the disappointment she must've felt when she was sent home. Tough gig in the best of times.
Rest in Paradise, Ingrid, Gary... and Ernest, too.
✨
EDIT: Vera Zorina, the Norwegian ballerina whose husband was George Balanchine, filmed the role for two weeks before being replaced by I.B.
Fwiw, Zorina's lackluster performance had as much to do with the recasting as the pressure from Hemingway.
I got to know something 😀
Internet says it was Vera Zorina.
I love the odd camera angles.
Yes, the CBC had already legalized marijuana for its employees about 15 years before this was filmed. The rest of the country is finally catching up this month (October 2018).
The interviewer is Adrienne Clarkson, who one day would be appointed Governor-General of Canada.
Thank you, I was wondering who she was!
@@PunchlineEverytime me too, looks like Connie Chung
ain't she adorable?
For Whom the Bell Tolls
hemingway is my cousin in "real" life
I wonder who was that first actress? i got curious...
Internet says it was Vera Zorina.
I feel bad for the original actress.
I am so happy that Bergman got the role and not Phyllis Diller
Dr Joyce Brothers could have played Maria, had Ms Bergman and Ms Diller been unavailable.
hmmmm. adrian clarkson as a journalist
speaking of cutting hair.... jeez, interviewer needs to think about that.
Was this woman famous in Usa?
yes , she was and still is well known internationally
No. During WWII she got on a plane in Casablanca and never was heard from again...
@@Grimenoughtomaketherobotcry I remember someone,I think her love said to her "here's look at you kid" or something like that then she got on that plane and never heard of later,I was there in Casablanca.
@@judekelly8324 Better go watch that movie again.
ISN"T
it's 3 sizes too big. haha
Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuussse meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
you better see an eye doctor
no I would not like you better if you was ingrid bergman
She doesn't look Spanish at all...why can she play Maria?
its all Jenna Ortega these days
jaja whatever
Wheres the pots and pans? I don't see her in the kitchen!
i mean i seen hair styles back then...but hers is the worst
With all due respect to the interviewer --- is that a hairstyle....or a monsoon sitting on top of your head?
There is something in her that I don’t like. Although she smiles but there is no warm feeling in her smile. Scares me.
It's called reserve. Something Americans could do with a bit more.
Scandinavian coolness. Doesn't mean that they're cold on the inside!
That's is exactly what I love about her. To me it means she's a smart woman, not a drama queen at all, very composed even when she laughs.
