    This has an Intech 4.6L DOHC 32 Valve V8 making 302 HP while paired to a 5 Speed Auto.
    This was a rough one and the Transmissions in these are terrible. Its not audible in this video but the Torque Converter is getting ready to go which mean theres a good chance the transmission is screwed too. I made out a grindy whining sound when while reving and herd it slightly when changing gears. It shut off on me while doing the exhaust shot and it was about to shut off when I shifted into reverse.

    302 hp Mustang Mach 1 engine. 2 more than your Continental and Navigator. Ford was proud of this vehicle.

    love the instrument cluster the Aviator and Navigator had during this time period

    Look for one of these now if you want to be happy with your purchase. I just picked up an '04 and am very impressed. I was a valet at one time and have driven BMWs, Mercedes, Cadillacs, Bentley's and Lexus's. NOTHING drives like a Lincoln. If you buy one you'll be glad you did no matter how much you paid. I don't work for intechdude300 I'm just a glad '04 Aviator owner. Get one before they're extinct. Do you really want a hybrid?

      Think it’s still worth it in 2019 they are hard to find but I want one

      @@domoniquediamond7794 Big risk. I found a nice one for 3k at 100K but I also know the engines have a cooling flaw and can grenade. Not even worth to think about fixing that at this point. They are disposable cars.

    @talldude123 If you take a quick look at the side profile that's what you'd think but the Aviator was almost completely different. It had upgraded body mounts, bushings, springs, a DOHC V8, a faster and smoother transmission, unique grille and front fascia, unique rear end, different headlights and taillights, larger brakes, 100% unique interior (even the turn signal stalk was different), quieter interior, and a bunch of options you couldn't get on Explorer like HID lights and THX speakers.

    Really similar to the engines in the 03 - 04 Mach 1's. After I buy a new car for my wife, I plan to look for low mile Aviator for myself.

    I never understood a professional review of any kind with F bombs all over the place. It makes hard to focus on the value of the information provided when the language is in any way professional at all. It is just an observation.

    Very few negative reviews are true on most cars.....due to the fact everyone seems to think, "its on warranty" and I am a retired dealership technician.... I heard it all....

    Nice vehicles just that their rear lift gate tends to crack. Design flaw that affected Aviators, Mountaineers and Explorers of that period.

    LOL yeah thats it im sure of it. The funny thing is his car has been doing it for over a year and he keeps ignoring it haha. His is the 4WD model, it still works bc he went out in the snow with it on but everytime he stops and turns that nasty shutter just shakes the whole car lol How much is that gonna cost to fix and how long do you think he has until it just fails?

    A neighbor has the first-year model, a 2003, same model, Red exterior, same interior, nice truck. Must have like 200k on it now, LOL. Also has the 6CD/MP3 changer radio. The white lighting is a cool touch.

    why did u say in the video that the transmission wouldnt last when u put it in gear? i just purchased a 2005 aviator myself

    • @Intechdude300
      @Intechdude300  10 лет назад +3

      This was so long ago & I don't fully remember everything of that day. I do recall the the gear engagement being either harsh or delayed. Anyways I'm sorry to say but the transmissions in these along with the 2002 & newer Explorer & Mountaineer were very problematic. Most common issue within the tranny is with the shift solenoid & torque converter.

    Would you say its worth to buy one of these or not? I've started looking for one but I keep finding bad reviews.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo
    @xoquixxoqafxo 13 лет назад +1

    i actually really liked the interior of this model and the 03-07 Navigator. The instrument cluster was my favorite, very classy looking. Shame about the 5 spd autos tho. My best friend has an 02 Explorer with the dreadful 4.0L with 70k, does that have a 4 or 5 spd? His is alright , but we both noticed whenever he turns and hits the gas there is a shutter from the drivetrain.

      What about timing belt. How often have you changed it ?

    • @starxlr7863
      @starxlr7863 8 лет назад +5

      There is no timing belt on the 4.6L InTech, it's all chain driven overhead cams. These are some very good engines and will last a long time of properly maintained and cared for.

    My 04 Aviator has 128,000 miles. I replaced Computer, and coil packs twice, after it started randomly losing power. 1st time at 58000 miles, 2nd time at 80000 miles, I usually get around 15 miles per gallon... right now more around 10miles per gallon because I need to clean my Catalytic Converter. The check engine light on for the past 4 yrs without running any codes, still a mystery. My plastic is cracked on my tailgate also, and hinge also has broke before. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle.

    haha he is definitely not tech savy with cars, especially mechanical shit. His parents are rich tho (both engineers) so Im sure when it does fail they will pay to get it fixed. Its got an insanely low mileage for an 02 (70k) and it didnt start giving him problems until his parents gave it to him in 08 when it had 40k lol Can you do that kind of work on cars? Cause I'd be impressed if you could :P

    There's only one way to show you all what the Lincoln MKT replacement is aviator that is case cause the mkt is crap because navigator concept n isn't the aviator gone and now in concept aviator great we're going to be having a back to the future cars FYI Honda prelude is one and Cadillac cars are ct123456789 and xt123456789 so confused and fun for future of cars
