How Drivers LEARN a New Route Without GPS

- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- What up player! So I guess I didn't clarify this in my video about how we navigate without GPS. We first get trained on the route to learn addresses, where to deliver, and the most efficient way to run the route for a week or two. So you'll essentially be running with someone that has all the knowledge about the route and you run until with them until you're comfortable to be on your own. If you have any more questions, make sure to leave them in the comments below! Thanks for tuning in today, and i'll catch y'all in the next one. Peace!!!

Ayy, I wanna give a thank you, to you. Because of your videos, I have no idea how I found you, but I left my Management retail job at CVS & joined UPS as a driver. I was fortunate enough to be promoted to a full-time permanent driver just a week into the job, now I'm a driver. Always thought about becoming a driver for FedEx/UPS, but your videos made me make the jump. Thank you.
:’] wow. I’m so grateful to hear that I’ve inspired someone positively. Thanks for sharing, and good luck on your new job my dude 👊👍🙌
@@LunatiKz God bless brother
ur lucky af
That's wassup, how he shout out his boy that help him out with the job. Keep up the good videos pimp. Much love
Never once cared about being a driver but someone how I found this dude channel and he is making me want to become one
That’s my tio at 2:38. s/o Israel best uncle ever🔥 Good video man 🦾
I see my man upgraded to the zebra scanners
Man those new Zebra scanners keep losing connection man. So stressful when scanning packages in the morning about to run out.
@@ivobondptbe your route must be in a rural area. I've had troubles with the GPS on it, but it never stopped me from scanning a package. Thats pretty wack fr
@@Dupog Not on route but in the warehouse.
@@ivobondptbe ? the drivers are upgrading to zebra or panasonic scanners... same software though from what i'm seeing on other videos
I liked Panasonics better
I work on FedEx too friend, but in México, i'm retail service agent. Saludos amigo
bone apple tea lmao
should be bone apple teeth
i dont know how i came across your vids ...... but im glad i did ! keep it up bro
The work, the music, very wholesome for a sometime stressful job. Worked for both Amazon and UPS, very negative environment, but unlike other jobs the money pays the bills and you spoil yourself a bit. more power to you brotha
You worked for ups driving? Been there for 11 months and still waiting on a driving spot. I drive for Amazon too and then head to ups (sorter warehouse)
@@renearanda6332 has that driving spot opened up now that its summer and we're still heavy from covid?
Justin McNicol I just became a driver for ups because of the demand of online orders, went through Intergrad last week just passed now to wait for my route
@Bavex01XPro yeah but you’re also unionized - so you just pop in your truck and go. Kinda boring as fuck, FedEx employees sort and load their trucks, which makes it a lot easier to navigate in the back and makes you feel like you have more responsibility than to just “I get in truck and drive”
@@agentcorgi2995 lol anything to make you feel better about working at FedEx
Sending some love from a DHL driver in Belgium, Europe. Peace!!
As a swing driver, that tape cupholder is my special gift to people who call in sick and I run their route..if they don't have one built in
Upload more day in the life.. i really enjoy them ;D Grettings from Mexico
keep vlogging, this is super interesting
I’m training with a FedEx ground driver. It’s my second day. I basically help him deliver boxes. I am nervous when I start my driving test, but I all I have to do is use my mirrors, and my backup camera, and I will do good. God knows, and sees my situation. I know I will pass. When should us new hires get our uniforms?.
How did it go? Did you pass? Are you still driving for FedEx?
the cupholder in your truck is the best, sometimes you have to utilize what you have in your surroundings!
“It’s not bad. It’s not good, but not bad either.” What a legend.
Lol yall uses service cross too! And yes ups trucks have duct tap cup holders too.
Ive been seeing lately they are finally replacing our oldest fleet trucks. At least in my center, there are no longer any stick shifts. And on thursday, i drove a truck with 3k miles and it had 2 builtin fans!!! It was awesome!
In our fedex trucks we got iPads with gps I’m so glad I didn’t have to learn without the gps
Started at express in October! Loving it
Damn boy u got a nice car homie
How do you know what package to get when you get to the address
Lol u get trained for a week wouldn't that be nice. At UPS they have you print out some maps and good luck
I run in ohio and luckily my contractor hooks us up with iPads and ground cloud that plans out or routes daily. Which is dope just jump in the truck and go. No need to technically "learn" them
We have some trucks like that too, our routing software helps sequence stops. Only difference is this is the garbage industry, not postal haha
Kinda crazy I always enjoyed watching your work videos and never thought I’d ever get the opportunity to work there and I just recently got hired for FedEx Express. Really nervous and excited.
Keep your Grind Up 🔥💪🏽
Good hustle! I drive for the Big Brown in the U.K and I've learnt like 10 routes in 2 years, I was lucky to get a day being shown the route!! Luckily I finally got my own route in the last few months..... Stay safe out there fellow Cardboard Warrior!
Please make a video on pay as well as your typical hours
Damn Fedex is way behind technology compared to UPS.
The fedex I work at we have GPS in every truck
Trey Grizzly at UPS we’ve had GPS for two years already. It takes us exactly where the package needs to get delivered.
@@Daniel-nx7zh Right on ya same here , FedEx ground is tricky depends if you have a good contractor or not
@@Daniel-nx7zh It's not Fedex that provides it. It's the contractor. Only thing Fedex provides are the packages, the uniforms are bought by the contractors as well.
JinxtheOmen makes sense, let’s see when fedex is going start getting rid of contractors.
ROAD WARRIOR. It’s cheap and easy to use. My contractor reimburses me for using it.

Bro upload a new video. Your vibes are lit 🔥
0:46 you just picked your nose and wiped it on me 🤣🤣🤣
I have no idea how it works but how do you know where to go when you go on your route according to your packages for example if you deliver a package do you click deliver and it gives you an address/route to the next package ?? I’m so confused hope someone can enlighten me :)
at ups they be throwing us out there cold turkey 🤣
😂😂😂 oh hell nah!!!
I use to work at FedEx ground but as a truck loader AND I HATED EVERY SINGLE SEC OF IT! Getting overworked for $12/Hr fuck NO! The only good thing about FedEx is it payed weekly instead of Bi-weekly. I wonder how it’s treating it’s employees with the pandemic out!
He makes it seem so easy hahaha I started driving for FedEx a month ago today I had 187 stops and 4 pick ups I got back to the terminal by 7:30 pm😔
Nice man! Stick in there don’t quit that job man! Everybody has something to work for n this is it for you! Don’t quit! Push through it we all have rough days and everything but it’s worth it all in the end!
I have 199 stops at amazon. My manager was good ignoff to send some help got a few stops done by another driver. My route order alot of big heavy boxes because is mostly rich residential neighborhood. So you'll be sore on arms and legs at the end of the day regardless.
Dumb question, but did FedX purchase the vans in 1930 and just haven't bothered to buy any new ones? Why are they so old looking. I'm actually shocked at how poor the vehicles are for you.
Do you go to school as well?
90% of this job is finding a good contractor I have been doing this 9 year and had 4 contractors and only two of them have been good the other two your shit I’m doing a rt about 120 stop and 180 package and get about a two hour brake every day before pick up
I get FedEx packages every day by mistake. My address number but a different street name. This happens weekly. Any idea why?
My contractor trained me 3 days and got me doing different routes every day
1:34 g wagon
Aside from riding with someone on my new route, which was only 2 days. I used the app RoadWarrior for about a week or so and let it optimize all my stops from my manifest for me. Once I got used to the area I just went off my manifest and having my truck organized/grouped based on what main road the stop is off of.
Doesn’t the scanner have all the stops too tho, is the manifest needed
I do my driving test tomorrow. Kinda excited. I used to work for FedEx back in 2013-14. But the route n contractor wasn’t the best. Low pay but understandable for the amount of packages that rural area had. This time it’s for a different contractor and he told me it’s better pay then what I did have then. So I’m hoping for the best. I’ll give an update with the next couple of weeks
I wonder when FedEx retires all of its current trucks. Perhaps when this young guy gets retired?!
GPS is too slow. Memorize the map. You have three seconds to decide which way you are going next.
Hey man how’s it going. I am recently starting for FedEx here in Texas. Your videos are awesome. Question: do you still work for FedEx?
5:26 god, i fucking hate when i hear that...lmao.....AND the person wasnt there?? aww hell no
I deliver for UPS and the only route I’ve been trained on was my training route. After that I’ve done atleast 15 routes maybe 20, but I was just thrown Into them and had to teach myself. I just buy a suction holder thingy for my phone and attach it to the windshield. basically GPS every address for the 1st day. 2nd I do the same but at that point I already have most of the business memorized and just GPS the residentials. By the end of the week I have 75%-90% of it down and don’t have to use my phone much. As for businesses those are the hardest. I basically just ask around for where their deliveries go but once you deliver there once you already know where to go the second time. That’s just me though. UPS has a map that shows us all our deliveries for that day on a map and has each stop pinned and in order for us. So some people just print that map out each day and just follow that. But everyone has their own way of learning. But one thing we can all agree on is learning a new route sucks, especially the 1st day.
Mr ChichMagnett I heard ups now has a gps inside the dial pad? I asked
Bone apple tea. LOL. You got my sub. -amazon driver
3:23 I’d anyone just gonna ignore the ever so casual g wagon hes sitting right next to? 🤣🤣🤣
Hey bro how are you doing you’re making good videos can you tell us a little bit how much you make as a FedEx ground delivery driver I believe everybody interested, how much is your monthly paycheck
Bulk head door open mirror not folded parked on opposite side they dont tell you guys anything for that?
I'm new and they put me in one of the hardest route. I'm mad lol
Would you say you enjoy your job? I'm thinking about getting into this.
Do it bro u going to like it
Oh yeah, UPS drivers are the same way from learning new routes, to the cup holders.
😂😂😂
I work for ups we do have 2 cup holders all of our trucks do lol
I got put on a new route with no training man 😂 I was SO LOST
Happens to everyone when they first start and have a new route but overtime you'll start memorizing it and deliver it quicker.
How many packages you end up delivering?
@@jonjoyk5130 I forgot honeslty but update I’m a swinger now 😂
@@Turtleyyy so did you have to put all the packages in your contractors truck at the end of the day
Chencho from PlanB 😂 damn his twin
How to learn your route without gps…. *answer * learn your route
I literally started today and I stressed the f out of my trainer lol. I made so many errors and was slow because I’m in a small city going out to the country. Some stops are like 10 minutes or more away
It’s a learning curve for sure, but you’ll get it down as time goes on. Don’t give up!
Keep vloging bro 🙏🏼
Hey, so how come you don’t work for ups?? I love your videos by the way and I plan to become a delivery driver as well!
Some UPS locations aren't hiring drivers off the street; they have to offer that to the inside workers first & at some locations, it may take years.
Their union is weakening too, allowing for lower paid drivers 22.4 in the system... it's still favorable than FedEx when it comes to benefits.
You have to start as a warehouse worker and work your way up to driver. My friend at UPS started as a warehouse worker, then warehouses manager, and then became a driver
@@NXN2 it all depends on the location; some will hire off the street if not enough inside people want to drive. I've known a few that went straight to driving from quitting FedEx Ground
Earl A. It’s not that it’s weakening it’s the fact that UPS as started to deliver on Saturday’s and soon Sunday as well. The 22.4 drivers will be in charge of delivering the weekends making sure the regular driver only have to work Mon-Fri. And the lower pay is only because they aren’t driving more then half the time. The 22.4 drivers in my building are only driving 1-2 days a week the other 3-4 days they’re working in the building to get their 8 hours so it makes since if they’re only driving 25% of the time they get paid $1 less. But still only driving 1-2 days and only making $1 less is great. And yes their top rate is what $5-$7 lower but let’s be realistic 99% of the drivers won’t even stay 22.4 longer than 1 1/2 years because at that point a position would have opened up and they would’ve been promoted. Literally the people that will actually reach the top rate for a 22.4 drivers will be the ones that refuse the promotion when offered. And before you say anything I am a 22.4 driver myself so I do know what I’m talking about and I’ll be moved off 22.4 when the next batch of driver come in which they’re currently training them now.
Mr ChichMagnett i’m doing intergrad right now and they hired me off the street, anything i should expect? if they really will have me driving 1-2 days and the rest sorting? i guess
My truck has a cup holder duct tape haha 😄
Is there any beer or alcohol involved in this job???? Please answer me
Do y’all noticed that g-wargan
Bro I’m glad I saw your vid I’m now a driver for FedEx and tryna get the hang of my map in Houston… I’m from Louisiana so it’s difficult but I know I’ll catch on soon!
Bro, u still work for fedex?
How many miles on that old work horse?
I just started my route today in Islamorada Fl by myself, I did an average of 15 packages per hour.
That’s not to bad 👍
Now I’m going to start a new route and have to learn that one,it’s closer than Islamorada.i out some videos on my channel.
Hey bro are you still working considering whats going on with Cov 19 ? Here in the NJ hub we are and they didn’t have any type of safety meeting nor provide us with mask or gloves. I bought my own work gloves and got a mask from nurses I deliver to. Crazy time to be working bro stay safe 🙏
The fucking homie
Noo bring back the manual truck
What made you choose fedex over ups
I like your videos parthner. I'm from puebla México, and first god, ve work in Fedex México.
You walk to the front door then run back to your van? Waking won’t slow you down??
Yeah, that’s my system so I’m not always gassed out 🥵
What's your average hours look like?
Did you have to have previous driving experience to work for FedEx?
Whoa - I was today years old when I discovered that FedEx has lockers like Amazon does (and apparently "borrowed" the idea from Amazon on top of it)! 😯🤣
You gotta find P&D where you work union bro and 100% paid premiums. Dope content though!
A week or two weeks? Try two days my friend. I'm lost honestly.
Ouch!! Haha
dude you are awesome , I just started this new "Casual part time" with FedEx they call it, but I like doing it, I was delivering for Amazon Flex so I'm use to the deliveries, but the hardest part for me is inputting all this bs codes in that new Leo scanner.......lol....I wish he could just have an app in our phones like Amazon does it.
I noticed that White G wagon
I love driving jobs
You guy use gps ?
Only thing I learned in this video was he likes his cup holder made out of tape
Got the same scammer I work at DHL Express In Holland
So you can’t use GPS?

these videos are super dope my dog, keep em' coming
Starting tomorrow and only had two days to shadow a dude. I tried my best to remember the major intersections, but the small residential roads I have no choice but to use GPS for.
Been gone too long, forgot what a code 07 is! 08 was “closed” if I recall correctly.
Intelcom Canada has all the routes optimized, using smartphone its amazing, 200 packages done 4-5 hours. It doesn't matter if its new route you have it all optimized with Google maps.
When did you switch from ground to home delivery? Which is better? Is it a MUST for you to know how to drive manual transmissions?
Im drunk and I had a thought how did they deliver pizza back in the day with no gps or phone and here I am :)
Idk where you drive, but I get GPS on the STAR V and an ipad
do you have a set schedule or does it vary ?
I’ll stick with the big truck. Should get ur class a cdl to do doubles and triples for fed ex
