It's not just you brother. I don't think there's a musky fisherman in the world who hasn't thought at least once, "Why am I doing this?"
I think we can learn more from a no catch musky day than an amazing day. If we have an amazing day, we probably aren't learning much, the fish are just on. I'm trying to put a positive spin here. 😂 These are the types of thought processes I go through on bad days. "I'm out here learning. They call it fishing, not catching." Haha

@kava8902 I very much enjoy your assessment of the no fish days. I think you're spot on! Thanks so much for watching!

I’ve always enjoyed your videos, but if you expect to catch one every time and have mini-meltdowns every time you don’t, you’re in the wrong game. Come fish MN metro and see how hard and heartbreaking that can be. You’re spoiled you get to fish Eagle multiple times a year. Enjoy the ride, dude. Even the grinds.

@BlacktheWHiteagain I appreciate you watching the videos. I certainly don't expect fish everytime out, but I do put a little more pressure on myself than the average musky angler, I'm guessing, because I'm trying to keep up with a weekly upload schedule, and everyday on the water is important to try to achieve that goal. I guess I don't look at any of my behavior in this video as a mini-meltdown. There's no breaking rods, or excessive swearing, or throwing things. More like severe frustration because I really just want to have content to share with everyone. 😊

I have always said “ the only thing you can count on in musky fishing is that you cant count on anything “

Great video! I learn as much or more from seeing the follows and near misses on video as the catches. Yes, these fish do weird things. This summer, my son had been casting his first Medussa for a while when he got a backlash in his reel that he needed help with. He handed me the rod, I untangled the backlash, and reeled it in for him. In comes a ball of weeds with white medussa legs flailing, followed by a big musky. Followed it to the boat and swam off before the figure 8. We still laugh about that one. Anyways, good vid as always, thanks.

@deanmentjes7774Thanks very much! It's crazy what these fish will follow in on! It's why I tell my friends to figure 8 even with weeds on the bait. You just never know!

I have a few times considered throwing all my tackle in the lake. Great video Brian.

@mitchellgenz1373 I think anyone who's done this for long enough has that thought regularly 😅
