  • My brother and I hiked down to the banks of a free flowing river in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains for some late winter musky fishing. The water temperature started at about 40F and rose to 41F throughout the day. The air temperature reached about 50F. Muskies were found in slower pools near deep water. Most action occurred mid afternoon.

    I've had a lot of fun on a few trips to West Virginia's stretch of the Shenandoah River for smallmouth, but I bet there would be musky as well in the right areas. You sure had a scenic spot on your river.

    The illusive Musky is a bucket list fish. Recently moved to Western NC and they've got those "fish of 10,000 casts" around here. Maybe I'll inadvertently hook up on one while targeting large and small mouth bass?!?!

    • @absoluteunitmedia
      @absoluteunitmedia  2 месяца назад

      It could happen! Might wanna beef up your leader though. If I’m walleye/bass fishing and I think that might happen I’ll use a 60-80 lb fluorocarbon leader…as long as the water is murky enough that the bass won’t care

    To answer the question about the bricks. Long time ago a huge brick factory was here. It lasted from the late 1800's till 1950 when much of the buildings burned.
