I was lucky i got to see him in concert a couple times. He was a great performance. I got to meet him. He was so nice. His music is always in my car. I listen to him all the time. He is just one person i never get tired of. Great song and reaction.
Thanks Don for this classic. Started my morning well , a cup of coffee and some vintage Merle Thanks for the reaction Don. BTW I despise Bulleit Whiskey 🙂
This one reminded me that I haven't heard Jerry Lee Lewis's "What's Made Milwaukee Famous". Does one need to make a donation to make a request? May I request that you react to this tune?
That’s who it is. I heard Merle refer to it as a partial harmony. It was all over the stuff he put out in the mid-late 60s on Capital Records. This one, Okie from Muskogee, Always Wanting You, a good bit of those songs in that period had it.
He is the greatest...grew up with Merle...
Thanks for the review of this Merle classic.
Now THAT'S country right there! Great choice.
You know it really bad if the bottle let you down!!!🍾

I've had a lot of those moments. But there is always something good come out of them. For the most part.
Don, I liked your choice. It sounds like an early version of this song.
Good one
Sometimes you're drinking to forget and there's just not THAT much booze.😢

You won't find any answers in a bottle, after driking whatever is in it. All you have is a empty bottle.
Pretty sure that's Bonnie Owens singing back up.

Yes and he and Bonnie were also married. Their voices worked so well together.
