🚨IMPORTANT🚨: At 1:00, the music had to be muted due to copyright, so sorry about that! For context, it's the FNAF 3 original menu theme which you can find on RUclips. So please do skip that section, and enjoy the rest of the video :) Did you notice The Fourth Closet reference? Comment the timestamp below 👀 EDIT: 26:00 Yes, phone guy did mention that the animatronic suits were to follow children's voices. However, I thought it would be an interesting thing to look at it in another way too, which further enhances the fear factor, emphasising the killers craziness.ruclips.net/user/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f6a8.png
I sure did! I love how subtly you implemented that, I smiled as soon as I realized! It's at 6:37. Awesome video by the way. It's so atmospheric!! You totally capture what makes FNaF 3 so unnerving. (I'm a huge fan of your work on the comic dubs/voice acting by the way, it's absolutely amazing - EASILY the best impression of him I've ever heard!!)
@@abdipfy Thank you very much! I do really appreciate the kind words, they mean a lot! Furthermore, congrats on being the first person to notice the TFC reference!
@@Arcadendo Of course, I'm so happy to know it has an impact because I mean it. And thank you!!! Springtrap/Will is my favorite character and FNaF is my favorite media, so I can pick up on the smaller things sometimes :)
I like the perspective but I find it much more horrifying that Afton isn't fully in control and that the suit is forcing him to follow the voices, keeping him from getting to you.
I personally think that Springtrap is one of the, if not the best designed FNaF animatronic. He's basically a bunch of horrifying concepts all mixed into one. Edit: Today I learned that there are a concerning amount of people who want to date Springtrap.
Ikr, there are so many factors to his scariness. 1. he was a real actual murderer in life, which is a bit different than a confused spirit of a murder victim 2. springlock failure is probably one of the most painful ways to go 3. it's not just a machine that struck the uncanny valley anymore, there's a mangled corpse inside of this bad boy
@@nataliaborys1554 Also, unlike the preceding antagonists, which were (at least seemingly) just attacking you due to instinct, Springtrap knows what he's doing, and he WANTS to kill you.
@@nataliaborys1554 I never found any of those reasons scary to me, the whole “murderer” thing doesn’t scare me because he literally follows fake children noises for like 7 nights in a row and doesn’t not get tricked a single time lol He even knows where you are and doesn’t just get to you so like it doesn’t make sense lol
I've always found fnaf's 3's jumpscares underrated. I like how for once your threat wasn't an animatronic lunging at you at first site, but instead a sinister murderer who didn't need theatrics. He simply walks up to you, and you know what comes next.
25:57 Not quite. True that William has a desire to kill, but (to my understanding) this isn't why the lure of Balloon Boy's voice works on him. The spring animatronics, when not being worn by an employee, were programmed to gravitate toward sound - after all, that was likely where the guests were. The suit, while it has William inside it, is technically in animatronic form; William does not have total control over it. When the BB audio lure is played, the suit detects the sound and its programming compels it to move toward the noise. This is why the audio lure consistently works, despite the fact that it is always the same and there is never an actual child in the room. A highly intelligent serial killer like William wouldn't be so easily fooled, but a programmed suit can't tell the difference.
Super underrated comment. Thinking about it myself I'm like "Yep, this is true!" FNaF 4 you have big scary looking monsters that surprise you (at least that was the only time I got scared in 4 was when I was surprised by a jumpscare.) In FNaF 3, it's all suspense. You just feel on edge the entire time and nothing dropped my stomach to the floor faster than seeing Springtrap with his head poking out from behind the door like "Hey friend, it's time to die"
20:15 the reason springtrap goes after the voice is because his suit is still active. His suit follows the voice because the suit's system thinks it's a real child who wants to be entertained . As the suit moves itself at this point, William suffers uncontrolled pain.
@@flowersinathens102 it hasn't been touched for 30 years and hasn't lost power. Only after fire of the pizzeria where springtrap escaped i think he had full control over that body
@@Pygargue00fr because he's literally missing his endo somehow, I don't get it because he is literally just guts and a head but somehow he regrew his bone and crawled off the endo. That is literally the only explanation 💀
I think Scott was trying to go with more of the fear aspect instead of the jumpscare aspect in fnaf 3. I think that’s why so many people consider this weaker than the others. It’s intentionally different. It causes fear, nervousness, and uncertainty. You did a great job analyzing this game, well done!
Yeah, I think everyone was too focused on jumpscares. I still can't play fnaf, not because of jumpscares, but because of the atmosphere. Like, the way how animatronics get closer to you is more scary than what they do when they get to you. But every time I talked about fnaf with somebody, it was like "well, first game has nice jumpscares, but I think second has better and louder, fnaf 3 is lame, even fantom's jumpscares are not that scary, bla-bla, and fnaf 4 has greeeeeat creepy JUMPSCARES". You can download literally any horror, if you wanna jumpscares, it doesn't make fnaf special
what you mean less jumpscares? this thing has jumpscares upon jumpscares lol its the main mechanic, every other mechanic is bound to it lmao it's boring, cheap and repetitive
@@yrnxkj7607 well, fnaf 3 and sl were more about the plot as we said already. The thing why for me it wasn't that scary as fnaf 2, because there's only one enemy at time. It's not like 10 animatronics are trying to get you, so you feel more safe. But the atmosphere still creepy.
What scared me compared to the first two games is when Springtrap was at the window or door, there was nothing you could do. You can’t close a door, put on a mask, or just shine a flashlight. And when he’s at the window his stance looks like he’s saying “Aha found you” and when he peaks behind the door, it seems more like a taunt.
I’ve gotten him to leave back to the previous room a couple of times but yeah most of the time you have to do the good ol stare down and hope the ventilation doesn’t need reset until you get to 6am!
Fnaf 3 is honestly my favorite game in the series. The game has everything I love in a fnaf game. It has a creepy atmosphere, a great design for the antagonist, some good lore, and tense and strategical gameplay. It honestly baffles me how people say that it’s one of the weaker entries.
Let's not forget the ambience whenever Springtrap is close to you. Whenever that sound starts to play, i immediately start to panic and mess up with atleast one thing, wich then leads to death. And the feeling, knowing that there is only one real danger in the entire establishment is also extremely dread inducing. Whenever someone says FNaF 3 is the worst in the franchise, I just think of the Buzz Lightyear meme with everyone being the same. It's defenitaly one of if not the greatest entry in the franchise.
@@Chineseisntalanguageapparently and that's exactly the point! People judge this game based on jumpscares, wich aren't that great, but it's more like a release from the danger. You didn't know where he was, and now you're dead. But after that, you're releaved. It's over. Usually with games, the jumpscare is suppoesed to scare you more than anything, while in FNaF in general, it's the core game. It's so unique and I love it for that!
@@Uvulo I agree, especially with the statement about the ambience when he's nearby. When Springtrap is just coldly staring at you before he kills you while that creepy ambience plays... it's just sheer terror and fills the player with utter dread.
26:00 The reason he follows balloon boys voice is because when the suit is in its animatronic form it follows the voices of children, because it was designed that way not because Springtrap has a desire to kill every single child ever. He is basically forced to move to the voice.
The reason I believe the community loves Springtrap so much, aside from the design and backstory, is that his debut game is all about just you and him. No other threats, no distractions, your attention is always focused on him even when the phantoms are bothering you
What I like about FNAF 3 is that Sprintraps jumpscare is more of a “technique” than just jumping right at you. Just shows that the spirit of the kids, are still kids. While Springtrap, William Afton, is still a cold blooded killer.
Let's put it this way FNAF 1 is an unnerving 7 nights FNAF 2 is a scary and difficult shift FNAF 3 is the pinnacle of fear FNAF 4 is a living nightmare FNAF SL is an eery dark location FNAF PS is something that tells you that everything you have went through has finally ended FNAF UCN is the depiction of hell FNAF VR is something that feels real, but not. FNAF AR is something that makes it look like it's in your room FNAF SB is something new.
One of the biggest criticisms most people have, both back when FNaF 3 came out and even currently, is that the jumpscares are bad and not scary, especially Springtrap's. This criticism has always bugged me for a few reasons. First of all, jumpscares don't even need to be scary. The purpose of them is to make you jump by surprising you and catching you off guard. Jumpscares don't even have to be in a horror medium to achieve this, they just work better in a horror setting because tension is built. You are more scared of BEING jumpscared than the jumpscare itself, so it really isn't as important as people think that they're scary. Secondly, I think Springtrap's jumpscares more than make up for the lack of a fear factor by conveying his personality and differentiating him from the other animatronics. In FNaF 1 and 2, you can tell most of the animatronics are acting in a fit of rage. They're like rabid animals, they aren't thinking about how to do it, they're just going to kill you. Springtrap, however, feels very calculated in his attempt to kill you. While the other animatronics are hunting you, he is stalking you. He evades you in the camera by standing in dark places or staying close to a the walls. Instead of flailing around and screaming, he walks calmly towards you with a hiss. His expressions also change a bit. In one jumpscare, his left one, you can see his eyes move like he's looking you over and his eyelids lift in what could be surprise, excitement, or even curiosity. His perceived emotions combined with the smoothness of his movement give him an eerie human-like and uncanny element.
26:00 Apparently the reason springtrap follows the sound of children is actually because the suit is automated and has a feature designed to find where the children are. So basically Aston isn’t willingly following the noise, the suit forces him to. That would make more sense then him being so hungry for murder of children that he is drawn to the sound.
@@dasunnyboiwell, this suit wasn’t designed for murdering children, this was more made for actually entertaining them, so he designed it to be near it to entertain
I still remember being in middle school, freaking out with my friends over the close-up renders of Springtrap because we swore we could see a person in the suit. FNAF has come so far since then! Great video friend, it's about time someone appreciates how well the 3rd game stands up. It really felt like the final standoff against the horrors of the past 2 games. I honestly thought 3 would be the last game for a while!
The other thing about the scariness of Springtrap crawling to get to the player is that under normal circumstances, this robot wouldn't ever be crawling, just walking and standing on stage. It's like Afton has adapted and is able to contort the suit to move in ways that are almost human, but not quite. His movement still has that stiff, robotic quality to it. Perfect for a human decaying in a mutilated mechanical shell.
Just knowing a human being, a coporeal and aware human being with malicious intent is after you makes Fnaf 3 so much more disturbing. He plays with you some, like peeking around the door and staring through the glass, even his jumpscares are like taunts more than quick jumps for a kill-I wish Fanf 3 took that taunting even further and really allowed Springtrap to be a force not just for scaring you by killing you but wearing down your mind before doing so.
Fnaf 3 was my first ever fnaf game back in the day, and the feeling of jumping into this as a kid, and knowing nothing about the fnaf series at the time was unbeatable, the feeling of being watched on night 1 and not even knowing how to survive night 2, and not even being able to tell where you are was terrifying. Of course when you know about the fnaf series lore and gameplay it doesn't give off those vibes, but back then it felt lonely, eerie and I felt helpless to say the least.
I think that while the FNAF 3 springtrap jumpscare while inherently less scary, shows that William Afton is a calm, cold and calculated killer. This almost directly contrasts the erratic and almost confused behaviour during their jumpscare and while generally moving around. It thematically fits the anger and confusion of the dead children as well as Aftons, as aforementioned, calm cold and collected killings.
I really enjoyed it, FNAF 3 is pretty underrated. There are plenty of good content in this game who is really just ignored by the community. And the video is really well done!
I'd argue that it's perfectly rated, when you compare FNaF 3 to the atmosphere of the 1st game, Springtrap doesn't feel like as major of a threat. The constant deathless jumpscares kinda numb you to them I feel, so in the end it ends up feeling way less scary as a result. Mind you, I never played FNaF 3 myself, just watched a lot of playthroughs, but even watching it, it just didn't give the same jitters. It's personally my least favorite game, BUT, it's my absolute favorite lore/story wise and for that it is highly underrated!
That true ending trought. With the kids finally free and all. It's all so beautifull. Only to smash it to pieces and get trowed out the window in the latest games.... why? This game had one of the best endings out there!
@@redskull378 it's badass, true. But fnaf 3 was more simbolic. An actual ending to the suffering of so many. Thanks to us! The players. The ones who theorised and managdd to piece what trully happened to them. Finally helping them move on felt a lot more satisfying to me at least that having a dude nobody cares about and hasn't done anything for 40+ years burn everyone and acheiveving nothing in the end because we all knew that everyone would be back in the next installment
The sad part is that I can actually see the idea behind why more games could have worked on some level. Puppet does not show up in either ending, because it is shown in the game intact on the cam and it presumably just did not want to pass on, despite being set free. I feel as though that alone is a pretty decent hook for intrigue for what it continues to do and if it has a bigger goal. The issue being that this potential hook is replaced for Afton backstory we didn't need and new animatronics that matter jack all to the original trilogy. Thus we get to Pizzeria Simulator at the end of it and are faced with the fact that there is actually very little if any intrigue to having kept going after 3, because none of these guys have any context for what they have been doing between games, they just show up and then get burned with no further narrative interaction. Heck, Puppet actually has it the worst because despite being supposed to be a major piece of the puzzle, it is effectively reduced to a endo and overshadowed by the shell that captured it.
To me, the noise at the start of the nights always seemed like mechanical whirring, a machine barely coming to life despite being battered and destroyed, symbolizing how springtrap comes to life again despite having been trapped in the suit
Im so glad you brought attention to the minigame music. Fnaf 3s minigame music makes me feel a weird sense of nostalgia but it also creeps me out and makes me sad. It's a vibe that I havent gotten from anything else in the series.
I think Scott genuinely thought 3 was going to be the last cause he thought we would have solved the whole story....but we didn't so he made 4 to clarify some things....and he planned that we would've solved it then too which is what the box was...it was everything. The story in it's completeness. Each game after 3 scott made plans in case we solved the game. That's what 3 secrets were about. It was scott telling us "If you ever solve this...then that is the end." That's why you have to solve insane secrets to get the good ending where the kids have moved on. They refuse to move on till their story is known and the truth is known! They don't just want revenge on Afton and that's why Cassidy (golden freddy possibly) can't move on even when they got to toruture afton for who knows how long. That's not the key to saving the children. The key is the truth. They want us to know the WHOLE story. So Scott can't stop till we do.
Well, according to the interview he did with Dawko FNaF 3 wasn't the last game because people didn't like the jumpscares and he didn't want to end on a "flat note" so to speak, but FNaF 4 ended up confusing a lot of people plot-wise so he made Sister Location, but people thought _that_ was too sci-fi (and it wasn't really suited as a finale anyways) so he made Pizza Sim, then, which satisfied both him and the fans plot-wise, but some of the scares were limited and you couldn't see any of the animatronics at night unless you were dead, so UCN was made as a sort of cap-off, both in the sense of providing an epilogue to the story _and_ to create the ultimate, final gameplay experience. Then Scott retired and mostly let other folks do the work (with some supervision) so there's not much to speak of after that lolol
I'll never forget the moment of sheer panic and fright I experienced when I saw Springtrap sprinting by the front window the first time. I was frantically switching thru the cams trying to find him, but couldn't since he's so well hidden. Then I hear that creepy "eeeeee" sound kick in (the sound that plays when he's close to you) and I start to lose my composure a bit. Then out of nowhere he sprints across the window while I was on the cams, allowing me only a small glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye. I'm an adult, yet this scared me so badly I actually exited the game before he could get me, something I haven't done on any game since I was little. Although the game doesn't really bother me nowadays, my first playthrough was one to remember for sure.
Came back to rewatch this and dude, this is beautifully put together. I always thought the third game was always so,, malicious. I'm really happy that more people are talking about FNAF 3! It was always my favorite but the community really doesn't talk about it as much as it's other counterparts, I've heard that most people find it boring. Keep up the good work man!
I remember being so terrified and scared of following FNAF 1 and 2 since they realized as a kid (especially the story) so I stoped paying attention and playing the games for awhile and stuck to my Xbox. One day while browsing RUclips I stumbled on a video explaining and pointing out the theory’s within FNAF 3 teasers and the same fear that pushed me away from the series pushed me back. When I found out that the child killer finally died and the kids souls were released I was so happy. For some reason I felt really bad about the murders when I was little. Now I’m an adult and looking back FNAF was wild.
I loved how you (over)analyzed every single detail and gave it meaning, it really shows both how invested you are in the series and how much attention to detail you have, and it also makes us realize some elements we night have not thought of before. Great video!
Nothing scares me more than Fnaf 4, actually, since you don't have any cameras to check on the animatronics, but the third... illusions, having to reboot and having that charge of anxiety before being able to check again only to find him looking right at you or being on your left is the scariest thing ever to me.
FNAF 3 instantly cemented Springtrap/William Afton as one of my favorite antagonists in gaming. He's a truly menacing and villainous character, and seeing him return in other incarnations in future titles, especially Burntrap in Security Breach, was a fantastic way to show that no matter how hard Michael Afton and others have tried, evil NEVER dies.
@@coltonwilkie241 they really could've just made vanessa a copycat killer with no real connection to old Bill Afton besides liking his style, but no, somehow she got possessed by the soul of a man who's died more often than goku at this point
Same here are you with a Favourites spring trap is on my favourites to and I also really like Fnaf three a lot too. I love it more of the best absolutely
@@LargeMetallicFellow Jason was struck by lightning and became a zombie and Freddy is literally a demon. I don't think there's anything supernatural about William. He's just a guy who kills kids.
I love fnaf 3 and it deserves more respect even with the not so good jumpscares. Literally springtrap himself is the main antagonist. Also some of my favourite music from fnaf is from this game and I get emotional every time I hear the good ending music.
25:53 actually, i think that the reason he's lured to the balloon boy laugh is because of the machine's programming, to go to where there's noise so that it's near the crowds. it shows that he's stuck inside of his own body, and he's not just a zombie, he's a zombie stuck inside of a family franchise robot
There was always something that separates this game from the rest and springtrap form the other animatronics, he feels more aware, more alive. Where the others feel like a unholy remnant lashing out violently springtrap feels like something with malevolent intent, with a intention to kill you.
You really went outside the box and explained the meaning and effect of all the aspects of the game. People don't realise the sense of horror in fnaf 3, well done.
26:20 just a little thing to take note of is this is still William, he isn't dumb, he wouldn't follow the voice of balloon boy more than twice because he'd figure out its just a decoy by then, pretty sure he follows it because its in the suits coding to follow the nearest child just like the haunted animatronics he destroyed they couldn't get past their coding, also he isnt all that desperate to get into ur room, you can see him hiding sometimes but other times he'd just straight up stare at the camera and toy with u, another thing that makes him terrifying is that he doesn't seem like an animatronic he seems real, like a human.
I remember that when i was i child i was completly terryfied about Springtrap, he was one of my worst nightmares if not the most, because is not only what you explained about him it is way more bacuse its a freaking dead body of a serial killer trying to kill you.
That Mandela catalogue photo scared the shit out of me i have hallucinations of alternates a lot i wish there was a warning last night i saw my door handle aggressively shaking and heard my name being called in my grandmas voice but it was very distorted kept seeing alternates in the corner of my eye
At 19:00 the tune played is originally from the piece “Ständchen” (Serenade) by Franz Schubert, a piece published after the composer’s death. The piece tells a story of a person’s pensive sorrow and longing for love, which could also relate to the story of William Afton where his life was completely ruined because of his twisted beliefs and corrupt mind. The suit itself even suggests the inability to escape from the consequences of his actions. While the kids experience freedom after death, his soul is trapped inside his own creation. Though Afton might yearn for freedom from his cursed existence, the nature of his being in the suit suggests that he is more focused on continuing his influence.
I don't think FNAF 3 is that scary. To me FNAF 4 is the scariest one. But FNAF 3 does have tension especially when you loose the site of spring trap, the system go off and a phantom attacks. FNAF 3 is one of my fav fnaf games, by gameplay and lore, and to this day FNAF 3 is the only fnaf game I completed all 5 nights in and also did the good ending
@@argo8276 I mean I am not scared of fnaf in general but the only games that can make me jump a little is FNAF 4 cause it is hard to predict when you will be jumpscared and when won't. FNAF 4 is scary cause it takes you by suprise cause you think you are a safe to flash the light cause you did not hear breathing but then you see 3 sets of sharp teeth jump at you with loud dip voiced jump scare. The most scary jumpscare to me is nightmare mangle in fnaf 4
The thing about FNaF 4 is that you literally CAN NOT die ever once you know how breathing sounds like and what sound cue plays when you need to let go etc. IMO FNaF 4 is the easiest FNaF game solely because it doesn't rely on LUCK. Its all good hearing and skill. Unlike other games where there are literally unwinnable scenarios that you absolutely couldn't prevent no matter how well you played.
Although I absolutely love pizzeria simulator and sister location, the magic of the original trilogy was unmatched since back then we had little to work with on what was going on, so there was this incredible eerieness to it. People nowadays can say the games aren't scary mainly because everyone knows the general machenics and there is familiarity in that, but playing fnaf 1, 2, or 3 for the first time when they just came out was a creepy experience because it put you in a more hopeless situation than any other horror game series.
What always creeped me out about Springtrap was the happy smile of springbonnie, but the screaming mouth of the body inside. Then the eyes showing just evil.
I like this game, but I always feared it the least out of all the FNaF games I played. My friends were really scared of it tho lol. I remember surviving up to Night 4 in two breaks at school. I wasn't afraid of the jumpscares because I saw them comming, but everyone around me would jump lol. EDIT: about 5 years ago I was really scared of Springtrap because I saw images of him without the mask, the flesh is terrifying.
Ah so that’s why I had a panic attack on a plane. It wasn’t the edible or my fear of flying. It was Afton’s horrific disposition and nightmarish aura 😄
Scott: *scratches ass* Fnaf fandom : We see the author using his hand to release the agonising itch that he felt in the area of his buttocks, he creating a reference to the purple guy who used the same exact limb to build his robots and kill all those children, who, just like Scott, were in agony. Anyway, great video keep it up
I really like the jump scare. Maybe it's how the designers did it, almost walking (stepping) towards you instead of jumping. Also he looks a bit more humanized than the others, so like a zombie in suit. It's something in the eyes that also is different. I do also like the menu theme song as well.
I also want to mention that the music used for the minigames are all very popular music box pieces. In particular, usage of Schubert's serenade for Shadow bonnie and Swan lake for Fredbear is just... depressingly haunting.
i love springtraps jumpscare because we never see the animatronics move and the fact that this one does so smoothly, as if it were human, reminds you that there IS an evil sinister human inside of it.
One of my favorite aspects of FNaF 3 in regards to tension is how before in the past games, Night 1 was always easy but there was still a looming threat. Going into this game, as I figured out the controls I started to panic near 'cause I couldn't find Springtrap at all, only for it to be revealed by the end of the call that they didn't even find an animatronic yet.
Intro 0:00 Here ya go if you want to skip 1:18 And skip to 2:19 And some other stuff like the sound tracks or music 2:03 3:15 5:56 6:23 7:34 Phone call/ Phone guy 9:39 If you wanna skip then go to 10:19 JUMPSCARE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 15:08 Music box 18:58 Skip to 19:14 loud noise warning 20:25
They really did Afton dirty in SB... had him in a shitty 10 minute mini game that a toddler with no arms can complete. I hope that in the future, they can finally do Springtrap justice
Its that giant open space to the left of your office for me. You know, the place where the door ISNT. That giant exposed open fucking space is what makes this game so terrifying. At least with fnaf 2, at least its way in front of you. Its a big office and the hallway is really big. You dont FEEL like theyre right up on you. In fnaf 3 you're right next to the door. 2 steps away from where spring trap can just walk it. Youre entire left side is totally exposed.
All that great design points and build up of how he comes at you yet springtrap has a jumpscare animation of some guy who looks like he’s about to greet himself in a British accent I mean maybe I wouldn’t have a problem if the camera didn’t hold too long at that last shot
My very first exposure to anything fnaf related was when I was 12, fnaf 3 just came out and my then favorite youtuber whom I watched for starcraft decided to try it out. Springtrap was so horrifying to me, I had trouble sleeping for a solid 2 weeks and I suddenly gained a fear of darkness, feeling like every time the night came, he would be peeking through the dark door like he does in the game. I have never been this horrified of a game or character ever before and since. As I grew up, I learned to appreciate his desing and started to admire how an accurate depiction of death and decay Springtrap is. This game has a special place in my heart because of this.
FNAF VR vent repair with ennard. I would genuinely rather give up an arm than have to experience that in real life, even with no chance of death. No other animatronic can scare me like ennard.
the way you write the script for ur videos feels like how i used to write when i had to analyse a text in english class lmao. its not bad its just funny to listen to
I'm shocked that no one has said this but at 28:46 Golden Freddy's head is the only one missing here, and we know that he still appears in later games.
i actually like springtraps jumpscare, he doesnt throw himself at you like the other animatronics, he has experience and he knows what hes doing, hes done it many times
Good points! For me, the minigames were the creepiest bits. Seeing William sprint towards the animatronic and suddenly dismantle them with that loud…. “song” was a legitimate jumpscare for me when I first witnessed it. And then the other ones with the music boxes - they always felt wrong, like I shouldn’t be playing such a happy game in this terrifying place with a terrifying job to do.
People always shit on Springtrap’s jumpscare animation being more mundane… but I always thought that the idea of a more human-like enemy in the game was much more terrifying, given the fact that there IS an actual man inside the springlocked suit. He’s a dead man still walking, forever paying for his sins by being forced to live in the shell he died in for an eternity… and he still craves the blood of the innocent.
Since the first time I played FNAF 3 until today, springtrap still scares me in a way I can't describe. I spent countless nights of my childhood (in which I first played it) hallucinating with him and ending up sleeping in my parents bedroom. Something about him freaks me out. Idk. Only happens with the design of FNAF 3 though.
i'm absolutely mind-blown by the script of the video, by the research that has been put into it, and by how you gave another point of view for every single detail in this horror masterpiece. thanks for making this, i think this my favourite fnaf-related video.
This video is amazing! FNAF 3 always felt… different to me, more mysterious, like there are still things to uncover while I know there is not, that’s why it’s one of my favorite FNaF games!
Springtrap, in my opinion, is one of the scariest animatronics. The other animatronics? They’re dead kids in a mechanical body. Possessed objects? Yeah, that’s terrifying. But Springtrap? You’re looking at the body of a *murderer*. When he is standing outside of the office, tall and still, imposing, you are staring into the eyes of a murderer. He isn’t an angry, broken child with a want for revenge, he is a heartless, calculating person, who is fully aware of what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. And you aren’t his only victim. I never really found anyone who truly liked Fnaf 3 until now. While it isn't my favorite in the series, seeing these points does give a better perspective on its strongsutes
I feel the need to say something. This was tbh one of the best videos I have seen in a while. Just the way you explained everything was amazing and interesting. I never really looked that way at it. It gives people the chance to understand this insane Killer William Afton. Also how you explained the Design and the details really got me . If it was intentional or not from Scott with Springtrap he created the best character in all the fnaf games . Well done !
I agree, I remember playing FNAF 3 when it came out. I was so scared of the game. The vibrant horror green color throughout the establishment and Springtrap it's main antagonist have never left my childhood memories. I remember seeing Springtrap peering behind the door frame and I turned the game off, didn't play it again until I was old enough to not be scared anymore. Ever since I saw him peer around the door frame my imagination would play tricks on me and I actually thought I would see Springtrap lean back from the door frame of my room every time I would look at the door. The scariest FNAF game I have played. Props to Scott.
I think one thing that makes fnaf 3 so intense is how you never feel truly safe, in fnaf 1 and SLCN, there was guaranteed safety via the doors, and as chaotic and stressful as fnaf 2 is, there were at least brief moments of safety with the freddy mask. Even in fnaf 4 you could neutralize one animatronic at a time. In fnaf 3 you always feel vulnerable.

1. he was a real actual murderer in life, which is a bit different than a confused spirit of a murder victim
2. springlock failure is probably one of the most painful ways to go
3. it's not just a machine that struck the uncanny valley anymore, there's a mangled corpse inside of this bad boy

Especially considering golden bonnie was one of the first animatronics that was made so the ai would be particularly limited
Somehow you managed to make it even more creepy. Imagine being controlled by a suit.

FNaF 4 is fear depicted by a child, FNaF 3 is fear depicted by an adult.
I love that dichotomy, because in their own way, they’re equally *terrifying.*
Fnaf 3 is fear depicted by its atmosphere of suspense. Not adult. Because every other early FNAF game has an adult working a shift besides 4.
Probably because fnaf 3 is in a horror attraction made by an adult and fnaf 4 is in a child's nightmare
But the jumpscare of springtrap is feels made by a man child
Too stiff, robotic, and decayed to be alive...but too fluid, human, and erratic to be dead... Such an amazing design and character.

And when he’s at the window his stance looks like he’s saying “Aha found you” and when he peaks behind the door, it seems more like a taunt.

All the more reason springtrap is more scary than any other character in fnaf
I imagine he can't lunge at you like the other animatronics
26:00 Apparently the reason springtrap follows the sound of children is actually because the suit is automated and has a feature designed to find where the children are. So basically Aston isn’t willingly following the noise, the suit forces him to. That would make more sense then him being so hungry for murder of children that he is drawn to the sound.
Well, he also made that suit

Yeah imo the first 3 games, maybe the 4th, are the only entries to Fnaf lore I see as canon
@@lpfan4491 exacly, the new characters for the most part are hollow and unintresting.

27:17 I always thought his Jumpscare sucked but then I realized Springtrap is confused because in the lore the night guard is his son Micheal.
And there’s another sound in the game that scares me a lot, that plays when Springtrap is near you. It looks like someone with asthma is breathing
The script is truly outstanding. A great video.

There’s a reason why it was described as “Dreadful” in the Sister Location trailer

FNAF 3 is one of my fav fnaf games, by gameplay and lore, and to this day FNAF 3 is the only fnaf game I completed all 5 nights in and also did the good ending
Yeah
Fnaf 4?💀
@@argo8276 I mean I am not scared of fnaf in general but the only games that can make me jump a little is FNAF 4 cause it is hard to predict when you will be jumpscared and when won't. FNAF 4 is scary cause it takes you by suprise cause you think you are a safe to flash the light cause you did not hear breathing but then you see 3 sets of sharp teeth jump at you with loud dip voiced jump scare. The most scary jumpscare to me is nightmare mangle in fnaf 4
@@SpringsFNAFTime fr i agree
Fnaf 3 is precisely like this video. Underrated.
Amazing way to break down the most forgotten game from this franchise.
I'm not sure what you mean by the faces on the posters giving an uneasy feeling. They're literally just the epic face but on a Freddy's character.
Exactly what i thought
What always creeped me out about Springtrap was the happy smile of springbonnie, but the screaming mouth of the body inside. Then the eyes showing just evil.
The whole heartbeat idea really emphasizes the fact that the panel is the only thing keeping you alive.
2:27 hes just standing there MENACINGLY
Fnaf 3 was my first fnaf game. Seeing that and now security breach is crazy
Scott: *scratches ass*
Fnaf fandom : We see the author using his hand to release the agonising itch that he felt in the area of his buttocks, he creating a reference to the purple guy who used the same exact limb to build his robots and kill all those children, who, just like Scott, were in agony.
Ok I gotta say I really love this thirty minute over-analysis of the game and would LOVE for you to do this with the other games
FNaF 3 got you dreading, and then I fall asleep after getting jumpscared

All that great design points and build up of how he comes at you yet springtrap has a jumpscare animation of some guy who looks like he’s about to greet himself in a British accent
I mean maybe I wouldn’t have a problem if the camera didn’t hold too long at that last shot
29:05 I paused and read the newspaper and was blown away at the cool story Scott put into it! This is such an amazing detail I neglected to notice.
this video is more full of conjecture than my college classes on historic novels
Ennard is scary? The mask makes him look like a goofy dork to me lol
the way you write the script for ur videos feels like how i used to write when i had to analyse a text in english class lmao. its not bad its just funny to listen to
Lmao that is exactly what I went for
I'm shocked that no one has said this but at 28:46 Golden Freddy's head is the only one missing here, and we know that he still appears in later games.
i actually like springtraps jumpscare, he doesnt throw himself at you like the other animatronics, he has experience and he knows what hes doing, hes done it many times
He canonically ain't dead inside the suit though, still a zombie anyway
fnaf 3 was always the most terrifying to me, i felt uneasy the whole time watching this excellent video
Fnaf 3 has always been my favorite one, and you just made it more scary by putting all of this in my head.
like, thank you so much
Since the first time I played FNAF 3 until today, springtrap still scares me in a way I can't describe. I spent countless nights of my childhood (in which I first played it) hallucinating with him and ending up sleeping in my parents bedroom. Something about him freaks me out. Idk. Only happens with the design of FNAF 3 though.
Lmao same, was looking for a comment like this
This guy sounds like he has never played fnaf, but knows more than me probably
i'm absolutely mind-blown by the script of the video, by the research that has been put into it, and by how you gave another point of view for every single detail in this horror masterpiece. thanks for making this, i think this my favourite fnaf-related video.
This video is amazing! FNAF 3 always felt… different to me, more mysterious, like there are still things to uncover while I know there is not, that’s why it’s one of my favorite FNaF games!
I THOUGHT YOU HAD SOO MUCH MORE SUBSCRIBERS WHATTTT. THIS IS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO
Just staring into his eyes outside of the office window is the most terrifying thing in and of itself.
I never really found anyone who truly liked Fnaf 3 until now. While it isn't my favorite in the series, seeing these points does give a better perspective on its strongsutes
The more you understand the true main lore of FNAF; the scarier FNaF 3 truly becomes. Love the vid!
Well done !
1:00 silence is the best soundtrack.
I find this video to be heartwarming and adorable. I love the attention to the details. :)
“you instantly feel that sense of fear when you boot up the game to this song playing”
the song that plays: 🦗🔇🤫🤐

I agree with you on the intro, Fnaf 3 is always has given me a weird type of fear.
This also amplified with minigames and story.
I LOVE The Fazbear Frights Office You Can VERY Easily Imagine Being There And What The Building Feels Like That Being Stuffy And Uncomfortably Warm
