It's funny, humans have tendencies. Art loves to have movements immediately followed by a counter movement. Originally people said Fnaf 3 was not scary, even called it the most boring in the series, now so many videos calling it the best and most scary. So now people say that if you know, you will see that fnaf 3 is the most scary in the series... No it's fucking not, there are pieces there yes, but the gamplay is more brainless than Fnaf 1, the screamer fest of the phantoms makes it annoying to play, the desing of springtrap is amazing but if you are not shit at the game you barely get to see it and tension as much as he wants to praise is non existent.

Sure there are the phantoms, but they don't kill you, they just bring you closer to it, you could take all the phantoms jumpscare and still end the night Its 1 vs 1 You with williams working suit and camera and him with the phantoms I always tought about amnesia as the best horror game of all time, since for horror wich many horror creators forgot, the atmosphere, blair witch? Had almost no budget, got the atmosphere, became one of the best horror movie, paranormal activity, same sh#t, amnesia, same sh#t, fnaf 3,a bit complicated but almost the same sh#t, still, its just you, and a serial killer, for 6 nights, with no help

alot of people complain about Springtrap's jumpscare being slow and not scary, but realistically, Springtrap (William Afton in the suit) is literally a rotting corpse, stuck and trapped inside a decrepit suit with essentially a bunch of robot parts violently jammed inside his body and limbs, and having sat still for basically 30 years straight, i imagine he'd have a tough time moving quick and aggressively like how everyone wants

I see fnaf 3 now as like being hunted by a serial killer such as Micheal Myers or Chucky with Springtrap's hunting style and hiding in the cameras as well as when he jumpscare the player and the distractions help to lure the killer away but even in the player's mind you still feel vulnerable thinking Springtrap is one move away from killing the player even if he was just given a distraction

The only thing I would remove from FNaF 3 is the "danger ambience" when he's near the office, like imagine seeing him run by the window without that loud ass ambience and you second guess if he's a hallucination or not

The real horror is when you find out who springtrap really is, it's not another lost child,but the sick twisted monster who's responsible for all this pain. it's not another game of keep the vengeful kids away or get shoved into a suit, you're fighting for your life against Afton himself,and you don't even get a flashlight,just anolog computers and faulty wireing

I guess video essays aren't for everyone to make. Damn this was bad. All subjective, no good arguments, weird and non logical conclusions, a whole section at the beginning no less dedicated to music and sound design while obviously knowing nothing about music or sound.

One thing i like about Springtrap's jumpscare, is that you can't really see the faces it makes. What is William thinking when he jumpscares you ? Is it a grin of happiness to show he'll love killing you ? Is it an angry look ? You can't know, because Springtrap always has that smile on its face.

The piece tells a story of a person’s pensive sorrow and longing for love, which could also relate to the story of William Afton where his life was completely ruined because of his twisted beliefs and corrupt mind. The suit itself even suggests the inability to escape from the consequences of his actions. While the kids experience freedom after death, his soul is trapped inside his own creation. Though Afton might yearn for freedom from his cursed existence, the nature of his being in the suit suggests that he is more focused on continuing his influence.

Pinnacle of fear? Maybe in all of fnaf, it is. Though sitting in a room waiting to be jumsparced isn't fear much less horror. It will get you twitching when loud noise plays over slow animation sure, but it will get dull. If anyone really wants to experience fear, I highly recommend amnesia the bunker

14:40 there's absolutely no way fnaf 3 was inspired in any way, shape or form by analog horror, and you're factually wrong in saying that either analog horror or fnaf 3 came in the late 2010s. Fnaf came out early 2015 and the pioneering analog horror series, local 58 came out by late 2015. It just doesn't make sense.

FNAF 3, across the board, is considered to be the least frightening of all the games. In the beginning of a playthrough, the hallucinations can be scary. But after just a couple of nights, they become predictable. And whatever tension is built through the gameplay is deflated when you lose because Springtrap's jumpscare is the most anti-climactic in the entire franchise. And even for the few that are genuinely frightened by his jumpscare, in about half of one's attempts you can see Springtrap outside your office when your death is guaranteed. So there isn't even an anticipation element. You already know the scare is coming, so there's no scare when it happens.

The idea of springtrap being found in a boarded up room gives me Indiana Jones/The Mummy vibes, humanity found something it wasn’t supposed to, and now that thing is loose because of it Edit: Springtrap’s motivation for killing the player is also very unnerving because you know he’s escaped again, you’re another loose end that he needs to tie up because if he doesn’t, the whole world will know he’s back

The build up is great, but the payoff is... Kind of shit
