- Cinerama Inc presents "La Fayette" (1961) in Super Technirama 70. 7OMM Trailer for the rare French-Italian biographical epic. Trailer remastered in High Definition with Smilebox technology to simulate how this EPIC was presented originally on the big Road Show screens in CINERAMA.
Smilebox is a superb tool.
Otherwise we need a correction of the lack of details in the suffering shadows and removing the yellowish charakter.
Is there a chance this will be released on UHD HDR Bluray?
Wow! Never heard of this one. It would be great to check it out on blu-ray or 4k from a Technirama 70 transfer.
You haven't heard of it because it's best forgotten.
You're best forgotten. Go away.@@fredemny3304
I just downloaded a poor 480p of this movie which I thought looked interesting...haven't seen it yet but a SmileBox version would be a vast improvement. CINERAMA released movies in this format when it was shown it could be done with a single lens. "Mad World" was the first with this process. 70MM films could be shown on a curved screen and looked just as spectacular as CINERAMA.
I'm sure it'll soon be available for sale on disc, or illegal download lol They remastered all their Travelogue movies a couple years ago.
Without being projected onto a curved screen, presenting an image as warped as this really is unnecessary
bad news it was available in France on Blu ray regular box
🤔It doesn't look like a 3-camera cinerama to me🙄
It isn't.
It’s not. They’ve just distorted the image for no reason.
As of 1963 with the release of Mad World, Ultra Panavision films played on the existing Cinerama screens and billed themselves as being “ in Cinerama” although not the true Cinerama as you note.
Besides Mad World, films such as Ice Station Zebra, 2001, Grand Prix, Khartoum, Krakatoa ( east of Java) were all “ in Cinerama”.
Maybe strohiemer could get the American rights and get this fixed and put it on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray
That's a dude who could do it, for sure.
I'm not sure that he would consider it to be worth the effort. It might look impressive, but it's a really bad film which I don't think would ever recoup the considerable costs involved .
@@ericthemauve A rather presumptuous assertion, don't you think? IMDB which is always harsh because everyone is a critic rates it 6-10.
Peter Cetera at 1:47 !
😆
The second shot shows exactly why smilebox is a very silly idea for this film.
Behold the ~~~~BeNdY bRiDgE~~~~!
Don't be a d-bag purist. Have a little fun.
It is not Cinerama! Fake Cinerama yes.
Looks great, but really poor film.
Satan thy name is Smilebox.
