So one thing about Black Clover that I really love is that the main rivals (shouty kid and edgy cool guy) are just homies. They are competing for the same goal, but they don't have any hostility or antagonism aimed at each other. They care for each other and want the best for them without having that classic shounen hate rivalry.
This is what I liked. After being a fan of Naruto as a kid, Black Clover cuts out all the stuff that annoyed me, but kept all the best tropes and themes.

The one from Black Clover is more based off of what you're talking about probably, but its a concept that threads or strings are related to fate in a couple different cultures.
Black Clover is in someways a very basic shounen but imo also excels at that. The foreshadowing and twists and also the character development (especially for sidecharacters which is rare) can be crayz good. Also, the "Power of Friendship" actually translates to teamwork

and another awesome thing is that plot armor just is an in univers thing for power ups. It also helps with character development and makes is very rewarding.
First 120 episodes arc is a masterpiece of a story with its foreshadowing, twists and reveals that are slowly given and the viewer gets to enjoy slowly piecing it together
Only problem I have with Black Clover is that none of the villains are likeable in the same way you'd like Frieza/Cell/Gaara/Orochimaru/Madara/All For One etc

Black Clover is hella worth the watch. Never before have I seen a show that simultaneously fails the 3 episode test while also showcasing everything that makes shonen great.
Well It kinda did, first 3 episodes didn't show much in terms of catching someone's attention, One badass moment and that's it Best comparison to Black Clover is Katekyo Hitman Reborn as in my opinion also failed the 3 episode test and THAT anime did quite well

I usually have a really hard time staying invested in anime’s that are super long and haven’t ended but black clover is one of the only ones I stayed completely invested in. I have a short attention span but black clover kept me so freaking invested, I had so many questions and wanted them answered so badly I kept coming back every season and I was never disappointed. The main 2 character’s relationships is much different then I’ve seen in other shows, they both want the same thing but they are legitimately good friends and more like brothers then anything and it’s so adorable to me and it’s one of the things that kept me coming back, there’s so many characters but eventually you feel connected to all of them and it’s brilliant.
It's crazy how knowledgeable you are already despite not having watched the show. I mean you got the grimoires and the red thread of fate right! Also when you said you love and appreciate magic, contrasting colors, style overlays, etc, I knew right then you are going to completely love the openings and the show itself. How cool it is that you seem already connected with the show lmao.
What definitely puts black clover above other shonens is that even though they have a big cast the author always makes sure they get their time in the spotlight

I'm subscribing just because of how you reacted to the guy at 3:46. That was hilariously unexpected. Also when you mentioned the protag getting a muscle glowup in op 12; he was like that since the beginning they just hadn't shown much of it in the openings. This boy has always been doing his one handed handstand pushups in the thousands. 13 is where the glow up at.
Really enjoyed your breakdown of this and you have me as a new fan of the channel. Black Clover is a great anime that was held back by a few things that are honestly only important if this stuff bothers you. The animation goes really hard sometimes but it also can tip to the other side of the scale where you can tell these animators were rushed getting this stuff out. It takes a small amount of investment to get to the meat and potatoes so to speak. I think its around episode 34 or so but it's worth it. Even if you watch it off your channel you will like the story and character development from everyone including side characters. Alot of thought and planning goes into it all. The biggest gripe everyone has initially is the main character. He's loud and screamy when you first meet him but as time goes on both the English and Japanese voice actors really nail it. He's turned into one of my favorite shonen protagonists of this new era. Personally if I had to choose one it would be dub for this show...especially for the cigarette daddies voice 😳. Glad I found your channel, keep up the good work, and keep fighting what your going through...your making new fans all the time.
The first set of dog barks fit perfectly with the breaks in opening 13! Made me laugh a bit. I love Black Clover. I definitely recommend watching it, but you just need to get past roughly the first twenty episodes. The issues most have, I think, is with the Japanese voice actor of the main protagonist, the buff guy with the swords. But, keep in mind that this is his first time as the main role, and he gets soo good later. I love your enthusiasm and analysis of both the song and the animation! Hope you're feeling well now!
Black Clover is peak basic Shounen imo. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but perfects it to the best of it's ability, and I love it for that. Although, hearing that it's BC or One Piece, I'd rather see you react to OP. Either way I'll be happy tho
Op 3 is considered the Song of Black Clover. BLACK ROVER felt like you said, unique and compliments the shows dynamic perfectly. The similarity of the names also clutches the feeling of them being hand in hand.
I love the way you pick apart what it is you actually like about it, without throwing around any difficult terms around. And I'm so glad you did a reaction to these openings. The endings I would say are also pretty good. Also, as far as the show goes, my favourite part has to be the side characters. I mean, it usually is, but here they are especially loveable and the way they are executed makes it so tempting to create fan-content for them. No, they are not perfect as characters nor as people, but that just makes it more fun to build on them since they already have a fun starting point, and none of them are particularly boring and very few are forgettable. Plus their interactions are so entertaining. And it's funny. Though I will say the anime/manga both have quite a few weaknesses, it was still a fun anime to watch, so if you do ever get the chance, I would recommend checking it out. Ah... guess few people escape Yami's... charm. Well, there are plenty of charming characters. For me it's William even though um... You'll know if you watch. (And if you do, once you're about 130-ish episodes in and you don't mind reading, the light novels do have fan tranlations and they do add to the characters and world a little bit, and are somewhat canon because the manga and anime did make use of some parts of them and the mangaka did draw illustrations for them, so I would check those out on tumblr.) Visually, BC is definitely its own thing, true. Musically it's more of a mixture of existing things; not to say they're not good, but the editing and visual choices really feel like Black Clover. And then there's William's mask that is both red and blue along with the rest of his outfit... which kinda' hints at a little something now that you've talked about contrast and stuff. Man, you nerding out makes about stuff I have at least some clue about is great to watch and it's a nice learning experience too. Black Clover seems to be a master of overlays. Or in the very least I don't see it done that much in other animes and especially not this well. Maybe it's because I've heard a lot of pitchy songs, having listened to a lot of pop and "emo" stuff, but to me Black Rover is not THAT unique, just unique among anime songs. Yeah, the glowy colour is the colour of their mana... can't actually be seen but it represents the difference between them in a way the viewer can sense. Otherwise viewer would be just like Asta. XD I'm glad you too think that pairing visual transitions with transitions in music is a cool idea. And the way the music creates a bang effect followed by an explosion of the characters powers and zoom in on them, works really well too. Certain transitions just work really well together and it's hard to explain why. I mean no offense to the One Piece community, but I kinda' can't imagine One Piece winning the opening war. World building, certainly, it wins low diff, but openings are where BC shines. Don't worry, the main characters never remain separated for too long. They're basically bros. It's just they both have their paths to power; it's a natural thing for two people to do. "Threads of fate". Huh, you caught on fast. Spoiler wise, that makes sense. I mean, a lot of animes hit you with so many hints you can't remember them all, and that's true for BC as well. Besides, you need the actual anime for a lot of these to piece them together fully. Hell, some people were confused even with the anime giving them hints on some things later on the in the story. Opening 6 I LOVE the dramatic landscape shots for. Surprised you never mentioned it. I'm pretty sure the fight scenes in the openings aren't even in the anime. The ones from OP12 definitely aren't, but they do have the characters involved. I like screw ups. Little bit of edgy isn't bad either. And the soft ones. Yay! Opening 7, da catchy one. Pffft. Just, go back to look at Vanessa for "research purposes". Definitely not what a lot of fans do. Nope. Same goes for Mereo and others. Mereo being the red head fire lady from opening 6 onwards. Yeah, Noelle's a real swan princess. Also someone to protecc once you get to really know her. In one of the endings "cute" girl even dances on water. Opening 8 is so sweet and chill and nostalgic, but also sad at parts. "There's nothing that develops a character more than if you kill off their best friend." I personally think that's a big stinkin' lie. All it does is make them go into rage mode half the time. Welp, that marriage in opening 9 didn't last long. Also Opening 9 is chilling. Oh, the white haired beans do have trauma. But then, a lot of beans have trauma in this one. Most if not all of them need therapy by now, so that'll be fun to watch. Opening 10 is... Aesthetics TM. I dig it, but still. Opening 11 - That one I mostly like because of specific scenes. Including the blond kiddo in front of crumbled ruins, the emo kiddo standing on a tree and the white haired been looking down on his mask in the moonlight. The feels in those moments... it's all very pensive. Regretful even. Asta compensating for his small ass height with a big ass sword. > > Opening 12 - So clean, so much of the captains. I remember being in the fandom when this one came out and screaming in excitement right along with them when it finally dropped in its finished form. It was such a proud fandom moment. Which was helped by the fact that the episode it first featured in became one of my faves just because of it focusing on my favourite squad. Emo kid slowly making friends in his own squad was part of the episode it first aired in, so that's fitting. This opening has the most of the captains and the most of my favourite captain too... so. Easily a favourite of mine. Opening 13 is the only one I didn't like, mostly because it's the only opening in this series so far that in none of its version has my favourite character. Even opening 10 had him in the second version, but 13??? Nada. Even though he's relevant and even though he plays a part.
Jjust by commenting on the animations so much, I adore your reaction to these openings soooo much! Honestly would love to see your excitement for animation and songs from the bleach intro's as well. I watch people react so often to these things but it's almost always just them liking the song or the events happening, so seeing an animation enthusiast finally talking about all the smaller details I also love feels so freakin' nice lol. Black Clover and Bleach are some of the top tiers in both songs and unique animation that deserve every bit of love they get!

Check all gintama openings if you can. It's mainly a comedy series, and it's hard to explain but this show can make people laugh and cry at the same time 😂 It's a rare series that make me love and care about all the characters. Definitely my favorite Anime of all time.
First time I've seen a video of you (I think), and it was weirdly cool. Because usually when I watch someone reacting to the openings of something when the person pauses to talk I skip, only listening when it's a channel that I've been following for a while, but this time on a channel that I've never seen I stopped to pay attention to the pauses, weird. But what you said about the colors was a great example of contrasting colors, saying that red goes well with green, and there's proof with you having red hair but with green eyes and wearing green jewelry, congratulations, you said something interesting, you did example and it is already the proof itself.
Honestly, if you're going to pick up Black Clover and are worried about Asta's screaming, watch it in the English dub. The dub is almost as good as the sub, and Asta's English VA did a much better job controlling Asta's exuberance than the Japanese VA did initially.
I agree with dub Asta. I've watched entire series dubbed and subbed and both are great. The problem with subbed Asta voice is his scream in the first 10 or so episodes. And it's not that it's loud, it took me a while to figure it out, but the VA does this weird grinding/guttural/gravly thing to his scream half way through it each time. It's like he adds 20 K's to the end of it
@@VikingVillage01 tbf, it was his Japanese VAs first major role, and Asta IS supposed to be that annoyingly loud, boistorous kid with a heart of gold for like the first few chapters before he learns to chill a bit more.
@@Justic_ I listened to the scream carefully many times trying to figure out why it was so annoying, so much more than any other scream. That sound he makes at the end of each scream is unlike any other scream sound I've ever heard and that's what makes it so grating.
Holy damn, finally i see someone react to the animation of the openings and not only the song as other react videos are, really liked all the insights and comments across the video, i'd reccomend a lot to watch this anime or the manga as, despite being pretty simple in terms of shonen series go, it executes its themes and uses tropes in a good way, its execution is really great and the series is really consistent and doesnt really drag out, manga is in its final arc, and anime is at few arcs behind where it finished, also, this series actually shows friendship in the way of team work, also, as a dude, i can tell you, we all love Yami, the one character you instantly liked in the first op xD
I actually really love BC as a series. It's nice and plot IS an interesting one. Story is just well crafted and coherent and logically sound and I love that in my stories

black clover is definitely a must watch. one of the best ones i've seen in a while. but I would recommend reacting to the dubbed version since the main characters screaming isn't as obnoxious to listen to and the dubbed in general is A tier.
I agree with this, but sadly the dubbed reaction will probably get her more fan hate and less views 😢. I figured out why Japanese VA screams are so bad. It's the guttural throat sound he puts behind the end of the scream. Took me a while to identify it. Also it stops around ep10 or so
So, the thing to know about the main protag of Black Clover is: if you want an idea of his personality before watching it, Asta is basically the love-child of Naruto and Rock Lee in personality.
OP 12 came on and I was so confused cause I had heard the song before but hadn't watched the anime, I knew it was by an artist I liked... and so I looked it up and it was TXT. It hit me like a bag of bricks cause I still remember when they had just debuted T-T

I found you because of your JoJos reactions, but from what I've seen of you so far, I'm sure you would fall in love with Black Clover's cast. Also, I would strongly recommend watching the Gintama openings! The series is a strong candidate for one of the greatest anime of all time, and it's in my top 3, if not my number one spot

I would love to see you react to older anime. I find most of reaction channels only focus on anime from 2010 onward. You're missing some amazing anime and openings. Such as Gaogaigar, Shin Getter Robo Armagedon, Berserk, and many more. The 90's were some of the most badass animation and music. Also, since you watched all the Gundam openings, you might wanna check out the Wing Zero Endless Waltz Launch scene. The music for it amazing and it happens on Christmas so it would be perfect for right now.; but it would have to be the full version. The OVA version took out the singing for whatever reason.
I hope you watch this soon I’m watching currently as well on ep.36 and it’s been great so far. Animation stepped up a bit with the past few. I think you’d like it. English dub is hilarious in a good way I could see how people say it’s bad, but the goofiness that Asta and some of the other VAs bring are golden.

OP 3, Black Rover, is what got me to start watching/reading the series after I saw it during one of those "Anime OPs you can't resist dancing to" compilations, it just goes so hard compared to the first two OPs!
Love that you were able to react to these amazing openings, will say Black Clover has banger after banger after banger of OPs, and what you said about OP vs Black Clover, OP is peak anime, and the openings will take you on a journey of trends for anime openings through the years (at least my take and the nostalgia I feel I go back and watch them), but Black Clover was just a constant stream of amazing OPs. But after all that I just wanted to say great work on all your content, I hope you stay happy and healthy, and keep up the amazing work.
The protagonist only screams until around 20th episodes, the studio heard the fans being annoyed so after that, there's no annoying screams anymore iirc.
Ya know I was thinking we always see a lot of popular openings and while I love most of them. I would love to see an openings reaction where we go by studio so we can appreciate their evolution as they gain more experience and give some love to older series and less popular ones. Like a Trigger, Gainax, Wit studio or Kyoto animations openings reaction. It's more work but honestly so many studios have super hidden bangers that no-one talks about. For example Wit has things like Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Seraph of the end, Ancient Magus bride and Great pretender which are all super solid shows and no-one ever mentions them ever.
Oh I just remembered a series withsome great openings and one of my favourite shows in general. Hajime no Ippo! If you haven't seen it already, it's a boxing anime about this soft good boy learning how to box and what it means "to be strong" Even if you don't like boxing or even sports anime I would highly recommend it

You might wanna check out Samurai Champloo. Its just a short series but it has such a VIBE. 26 episodes, so it only has one opening and one ending but both are absolute bangers. It is by the same director as Cowboy Bebop. Probably not gonna pull many views, you dont have to react to it but just watch it in private because its great
Not a really popular anime, but please check out "Moriarty the Patriot". It's an anime based on the Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels, and it is fantastic. It takes place from the point of view of Holmes' arch nemesis, Professor Moriarty, but somehow it still stays true to the original. It's got some fantastic storytelling, fight scenes, and amazing animation and OST. You've gotta check it out, I think you'll love it.

I'm subscribing just because of how you reacted to the guy at 3:46. That was hilariously unexpected. Also when you mentioned the protag getting a muscle glowup in op 12; he was like that since the beginning they just hadn't shown much of it in the openings. This boy has always been doing his one handed handstand pushups in the thousands. 13 is where the glow up at.
Im going to be the happiest of men when you begin this series. Its quickly become one of my favorite Shonens due to the plot writing.
It’s by no means a perfect series but it’s definitely worth watching. The world building is amazing and the plot flows nicely
Really enjoyed your breakdown of this and you have me as a new fan of the channel. Black Clover is a great anime that was held back by a few things that are honestly only important if this stuff bothers you.
The animation goes really hard sometimes but it also can tip to the other side of the scale where you can tell these animators were rushed getting this stuff out.
It takes a small amount of investment to get to the meat and potatoes so to speak. I think its around episode 34 or so but it's worth it. Even if you watch it off your channel you will like the story and character development from everyone including side characters. Alot of thought and planning goes into it all.
The biggest gripe everyone has initially is the main character. He's loud and screamy when you first meet him but as time goes on both the English and Japanese voice actors really nail it. He's turned into one of my favorite shonen protagonists of this new era. Personally if I had to choose one it would be dub for this show...especially for the cigarette daddies voice 😳.

The first set of dog barks fit perfectly with the breaks in opening 13! Made me laugh a bit.
I love Black Clover. I definitely recommend watching it, but you just need to get past roughly the first twenty episodes. The issues most have, I think, is with the Japanese voice actor of the main protagonist, the buff guy with the swords. But, keep in mind that this is his first time as the main role, and he gets soo good later.

Black Clover is peak basic Shounen imo. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but perfects it to the best of it's ability, and I love it for that.
Although, hearing that it's BC or One Piece, I'd rather see you react to OP. Either way I'll be happy tho

Op 3 is considered the Song of Black Clover. BLACK ROVER felt like you said, unique and compliments the shows dynamic perfectly. The similarity of the names also clutches the feeling of them being hand in hand.

I love the way you pick apart what it is you actually like about it, without throwing around any difficult terms around. And I'm so glad you did a reaction to these openings. The endings I would say are also pretty good. Also, as far as the show goes, my favourite part has to be the side characters. I mean, it usually is, but here they are especially loveable and the way they are executed makes it so tempting to create fan-content for them. No, they are not perfect as characters nor as people, but that just makes it more fun to build on them since they already have a fun starting point, and none of them are particularly boring and very few are forgettable. Plus their interactions are so entertaining. And it's funny. Though I will say the anime/manga both have quite a few weaknesses, it was still a fun anime to watch, so if you do ever get the chance, I would recommend checking it out.

Well, there are plenty of charming characters. For me it's William even though um... You'll know if you watch. (And if you do, once you're about 130-ish episodes in and you don't mind reading, the light novels do have fan tranlations and they do add to the characters and world a little bit, and are somewhat canon because the manga and anime did make use of some parts of them and the mangaka did draw illustrations for them, so I would check those out on tumblr.)
Visually, BC is definitely its own thing, true. Musically it's more of a mixture of existing things; not to say they're not good, but the editing and visual choices really feel like Black Clover.
And then there's William's mask that is both red and blue along with the rest of his outfit... which kinda' hints at a little something now that you've talked about contrast and stuff.
Man, you nerding out makes about stuff I have at least some clue about is great to watch and it's a nice learning experience too.
Black Clover seems to be a master of overlays. Or in the very least I don't see it done that much in other animes and especially not this well. Maybe it's because I've heard a lot of pitchy songs, having listened to a lot of pop and "emo" stuff, but to me Black Rover is not THAT unique, just unique among anime songs.
Yeah, the glowy colour is the colour of their mana... can't actually be seen but it represents the difference between them in a way the viewer can sense. Otherwise viewer would be just like Asta. XD
I'm glad you too think that pairing visual transitions with transitions in music is a cool idea. And the way the music creates a bang effect followed by an explosion of the characters powers and zoom in on them, works really well too. Certain transitions just work really well together and it's hard to explain why.
I mean no offense to the One Piece community, but I kinda' can't imagine One Piece winning the opening war. World building, certainly, it wins low diff, but openings are where BC shines.
Don't worry, the main characters never remain separated for too long. They're basically bros. It's just they both have their paths to power; it's a natural thing for two people to do.

Spoiler wise, that makes sense. I mean, a lot of animes hit you with so many hints you can't remember them all, and that's true for BC as well. Besides, you need the actual anime for a lot of these to piece them together fully. Hell, some people were confused even with the anime giving them hints on some things later on the in the story.
Opening 6 I LOVE the dramatic landscape shots for. Surprised you never mentioned it.
I'm pretty sure the fight scenes in the openings aren't even in the anime. The ones from OP12 definitely aren't, but they do have the characters involved.
I like screw ups. Little bit of edgy isn't bad either. And the soft ones.

Opening 8 is so sweet and chill and nostalgic, but also sad at parts.
"There's nothing that develops a character more than if you kill off their best friend." I personally think that's a big stinkin' lie. All it does is make them go into rage mode half the time.
Welp, that marriage in opening 9 didn't last long. Also Opening 9 is chilling. Oh, the white haired beans do have trauma. But then, a lot of beans have trauma in this one. Most if not all of them need therapy by now, so that'll be fun to watch.
Opening 10 is... Aesthetics TM. I dig it, but still.
Opening 11 - That one I mostly like because of specific scenes. Including the blond kiddo in front of crumbled ruins, the emo kiddo standing on a tree and the white haired been looking down on his mask in the moonlight. The feels in those moments... it's all very pensive. Regretful even. Asta compensating for his small ass height with a big ass sword. > >
Opening 12 - So clean, so much of the captains. I remember being in the fandom when this one came out and screaming in excitement right along with them when it finally dropped in its finished form. It was such a proud fandom moment. Which was helped by the fact that the episode it first featured in became one of my faves just because of it focusing on my favourite squad. Emo kid slowly making friends in his own squad was part of the episode it first aired in, so that's fitting. This opening has the most of the captains and the most of my favourite captain too... so. Easily a favourite of mine.
Opening 13 is the only one I didn't like, mostly because it's the only opening in this series so far that in none of its version has my favourite character. Even opening 10 had him in the second version, but 13??? Nada. Even though he's relevant and even though he plays a part.
they're straight up the most healthy relationship I've ever seen in Anime Rivals.
Jjust by commenting on the animations so much, I adore your reaction to these openings soooo much! Honestly would love to see your excitement for animation and songs from the bleach intro's as well. I watch people react so often to these things but it's almost always just them liking the song or the events happening, so seeing an animation enthusiast finally talking about all the smaller details I also love feels so freakin' nice lol. Black Clover and Bleach are some of the top tiers in both songs and unique animation that deserve every bit of love they get!

First time I've seen a video of you (I think), and it was weirdly cool. Because usually when I watch someone reacting to the openings of something when the person pauses to talk I skip, only listening when it's a channel that I've been following for a while, but this time on a channel that I've never seen I stopped to pay attention to the pauses, weird. But what you said about the colors was a great example of contrasting colors, saying that red goes well with green, and there's proof with you having red hair but with green eyes and wearing green jewelry, congratulations, you said something interesting, you did example and it is already the proof itself.
Op 13 (the last one) is my fav of them all, the last few seconds, when that devils wing pop out with the beat is so *mwah*
Honestly, if you're going to pick up Black Clover and are worried about Asta's screaming, watch it in the English dub. The dub is almost as good as the sub, and Asta's English VA did a much better job controlling Asta's exuberance than the Japanese VA did initially.

I agree with dub Asta. I've watched entire series dubbed and subbed and both are great.
The problem with subbed Asta voice is his scream in the first 10 or so episodes. And it's not that it's loud, it took me a while to figure it out, but the VA does this weird grinding/guttural/gravly thing to his scream half way through it each time. It's like he adds 20 K's to the end of it
@@VikingVillage01 tbf, it was his Japanese VAs first major role, and Asta IS supposed to be that annoyingly loud, boistorous kid with a heart of gold for like the first few chapters before he learns to chill a bit more.

I listened to the scream carefully many times trying to figure out why it was so annoying, so much more than any other scream. That sound he makes at the end of each scream is unlike any other scream sound I've ever heard and that's what makes it so grating.
Black Clover is one of the animes that needs to exist so there's peace in this world.
Holy damn, finally i see someone react to the animation of the openings and not only the song as other react videos are, really liked all the insights and comments across the video, i'd reccomend a lot to watch this anime or the manga as, despite being pretty simple in terms of shonen series go, it executes its themes and uses tropes in a good way, its execution is really great and the series is really consistent and doesnt really drag out, manga is in its final arc, and anime is at few arcs behind where it finished, also, this series actually shows friendship in the way of team work, also, as a dude, i can tell you, we all love Yami, the one character you instantly liked in the first op xD
I actually really love BC as a series. It's nice and plot IS an interesting one. Story is just well crafted and coherent and logically sound and I love that in my stories
I love how it excels at a lot of "standard"-shounen tropes. Like how power of friendship actually means teamwork and side-characters getting the time to shine (and great character development)

black clover is definitely a must watch. one of the best ones i've seen in a while. but I would recommend reacting to the dubbed version since the main characters screaming isn't as obnoxious to listen to and the dubbed in general is A tier.

I figured out why Japanese VA screams are so bad. It's the guttural throat sound he puts behind the end of the scream. Took me a while to identify it.

So, the thing to know about the main protag of Black Clover is: if you want an idea of his personality before watching it, Asta is basically the love-child of Naruto and Rock Lee in personality.

I would love to see you react to older anime. I find most of reaction channels only focus on anime from 2010 onward. You're missing some amazing anime and openings. Such as Gaogaigar, Shin Getter Robo Armagedon, Berserk, and many more. The 90's were some of the most badass animation and music. Also, since you watched all the Gundam openings, you might wanna check out the Wing Zero Endless Waltz Launch scene. The music for it amazing and it happens on Christmas so it would be perfect for right now.; but it would have to be the full version. The OVA version took out the singing for whatever reason.

I hope you watch this soon I’m watching currently as well on ep.36 and it’s been great so far. Animation stepped up a bit with the past few. I think you’d like it. English dub is hilarious in a good way I could see how people say it’s bad, but the goofiness that Asta and some of the other VAs bring are golden.

OP 3, Black Rover, is what got me to start watching/reading the series after I saw it during one of those "Anime OPs you can't resist dancing to" compilations, it just goes so hard compared to the first two OPs!
Love that you were able to react to these amazing openings, will say Black Clover has banger after banger after banger of OPs, and what you said about OP vs Black Clover, OP is peak anime, and the openings will take you on a journey of trends for anime openings through the years (at least my take and the nostalgia I feel I go back and watch them), but Black Clover was just a constant stream of amazing OPs.

Ya know I was thinking we always see a lot of popular openings and while I love most of them. I would love to see an openings reaction where we go by studio so we can appreciate their evolution as they gain more experience and give some love to older series and less popular ones. Like a Trigger, Gainax, Wit studio or Kyoto animations openings reaction. It's more work but honestly so many studios have super hidden bangers that no-one talks about. For example Wit has things like Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Seraph of the end, Ancient Magus bride and Great pretender which are all super solid shows and no-one ever mentions them ever.

Oh I just remembered a series withsome great openings and one of my favourite shows in general. Hajime no Ippo! If you haven't seen it already, it's a boxing anime about this soft good boy learning how to box and what it means "to be strong"
Even if you don't like boxing or even sports anime I would highly recommend it

You might wanna check out Samurai Champloo. Its just a short series but it has such a VIBE. 26 episodes, so it only has one opening and one ending but both are absolute bangers. It is by the same director as Cowboy Bebop.

Not a really popular anime, but please check out "Moriarty the Patriot". It's an anime based on the Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels, and it is fantastic. It takes place from the point of view of Holmes' arch nemesis, Professor Moriarty, but somehow it still stays true to the original. It's got some fantastic storytelling, fight scenes, and amazing animation and OST. You've gotta check it out, I think you'll love it.
