i miss this side of Squidward. Too bad that many of the later episodes made Squidward being a total ass almost justified, considering what he's put through against his will, for the sake of "humor". even the better ones of current-Spongebob don't seem to give Squidward any kind of character-depth like this.

Sandy introducing christmas & santa claus to Spongebob, Squidward being disillusioned to the whole thing, followed by him actually playing the part of Santa for everyone and giving them all something as a gift. and the fact that none of it was what they actually wanted but made it work just adds even more to the whole idea.
I’m surprised that they’ve never tried a SpongeBob Christmas Carol parody, because honestly they have THREE great candidates for Scrooge, between Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Plankton.
I agree I think Mr Krabs would be a perfect choice for Scrooge while Squidward is Charles Dickens/the narrator, Plankton could be the spirit of future yet to come or maybe the flying Dutchman, SpongeBob would be Bob cratchit, Patrick is Christmas present, Sandy is Christmas past!
