That non-stabilized footage can be run through Sony Catalyst Browse and it will turn out much better.. (run shutter speed about 3x though). Get a Tamron 11-20 f/2.8 or Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 and you won't notice the crop. Loving mine with the Tamron lens.

You would think that Sony could make it so you don't have to increase your shutter speed to use catalyst browse. Other companies have come out with software to use gyro data to stabalize footage and you didn't have to.

@@rogerdayton you don't have to.. it does look better. Helps gopro too.

@@rogerdayton It does use the gyro data in catalyst browse. motion blur in digital stabilization looks bad, increase shutter to compensate.

good review and you found similar things as me that are not ideal

I bought one and I'm happy with it. It's on a tripod, audio is recorded separately, and I'm behind the camera / not vlogging. So all the cons are irrelevant for me.

i am also behind the camera, but the rolling shutter and bad stabilization makes it hard for my usecase. for static tripod videos without much movements, like sit down videos, its probably the best affordable option.

@@truthseeker6804 Yea, I have it 100% of the time on a tripod and I infrequently need to do a short / slow pan. So I have no complaints.
