Yep, I used to work in a factory that made corrugated cardboard packaging. The processing of the cardboard creates a shitload of paper dust. There's a lot of care taking into account to suck the dust away and seal it in explosion safe zones.

Puck also lost a lot of power by forcefully ending the contract with Emilia he can only manifest right now because he sucked out Garfiels mans when Subaru stabbed him with the crystal that puck was in -Roswaal wasn’t the one to attack the village but the tomb of wisdom for some reason made him wait till Ram lost her horn to then rescued them and take them him since that seems to be part of the “correct” timeline he was trying to achieve for himself -I think it’s just personal preference season 2 gave us great build with the odds stacking against Subaru, world building, lore about the witches and immense character development from all of the Emilia camp and its new members so now it feels like the foundation is set for events on a way bigger stage and scale to take place that’s why season 2 is liked so much by Re:Zero fans I don’t think anyone is blinded by the last episodes most of us really enjoyed the trials and finding out about the past of our characters 42:17 She can make her horn come out to about 10% because that’s what was left after cutting it off but this was only her very last resort since it makes her spit up blood and causes her incredible agony since she can’t take in enough mana with her broken horn to sustain this form as you could see 44:33 We will know more after anime Japan which is the end of March but if we go by the pattern of previous seasons and announcements fall seems to be realistic since the studio who’s making re zero currently is airing another 3 cut anime. Is it known that the physics are different? Or is it just speculation? Cause from the looks of it, the conditions of a dust explosion probably wasn't met for subaru's attempt. Even with normal physics.
Physics isn't different in re:zero world,it just didn't happen because it wasn't compact and air tight enough, although re:zero world has little bit lower gravity subaru noticed this in arc 1/2 but obviously anime cuts it. Arc 8 Spoilers... The dust explosion comes back and is successful because it happens inside a mill
Time for a little fun fact. This song this episode during the Ram fight was Sung by the Voice Actor of Ram, it all says "aishiteru" a lot which means that she really loves him. The song that played during Emilia and Subarus Kiss was sung by Emilias Voice Actor. The Song that played during Rems Confession to Subaru was sung by Rems Voice Actos. Thats why re zero is goated once again.
The name of the song as well is “Anata no Shiranai Koto”, which roughly translates to “The Thing You Don’t Know”, which is very appropriate since the OST starts playing right as Ram confesses her love, to Roswaal’s shock.
Idk why they phrased it like Roswaal is directly behind the destruction of Ram's village. It is just a bad translation. There is an implication that Roswaal knew about the attack, but didn't prevent it and exploited the situation to his advantage, i.e getting Ram. Also it should be mentioned that her feelings for a clown were amplified by the erasure of Rem by Gluttony. The feelings she had for Rem went to Roswaal.
The other witch cultists who attacked Ram's village were following their gospels' instructions, and Roswell was following his. It's likely he was present as more than just a neutral third party to the battle, especially considering the amount of oni we see killed by fire magic. He is a member of that cult, and he has no compunctions about committing atrocities, so long as his gospel instructs him to do so.
42:11 You weren't seeing a horn, just the scar where her horn used to be. Ram can still go into her Oni Form which lets her use her powers to greatly boost her combat abilities for a short while, but she ends up vomiting blood and being unable to move for a long period of time.
The song that plays during the fight (also Ending Song) between Ram and Roswaal is an insert song sung by Ram's Voice Actor (Rie Murakawa). It is called "What you don't know". A fitting song for Ram's confession to Roswaal. Not only does White Fox squeeze every last minute out of every episode to get as much story across as possible in season 2. They also managed to hit everything emotional right. They are really amazing.
people still have a valid reason to dislike the amount of cut content in season 2, but you cant deny that for the amount of time that was slotted for season 2, they did one hell of a job putting in as much as they could and getting it as right as they could too. the problem was never white fox, they really love re:zero. the only thing that kept season 2 back was that a 2 cour season was NOT enough for how insanely long arc 4 is

The decision of what to show and what is important for the current season is not just random. If 25 episodes are commissioned for the season then 25 episodes will be made. Here we don't have a manga to anime production but LN to anime. Of course there will be more content. In Season 1, I could already explain a lot of cut content to myself with Chekovs gun. By that I mean the principle in a modified form To put it simply: Forshadowing for something that might be important in Season 3 or 4 (if they are made at all) then becomes cut content because it's not important for Season 1 or 2. It's then limited to the bare minimum. So as not to confuse the viewers with too much forshadowing (Chekovs Gun's).
Well, they did not elaborate on the vampire stuff. As they were already going over the normal runtime, this is something that was cut. I elaborate: She is not a vampire, she explained it to him during the fight. She uses a special curse (cursed doll) on herself that is like Russian roulet. Meaning she cannot die and heals instantly all sustained damage as long as she does not trigger the "bullet" and as long as her target is alive. If she triggers the "bullet" and dies, she will become a mindless puppet which sole purpose is to hunt and kill the target and will only stop once the target dies. She triggers the curse by edging special runes into her body which contains informations about her target. This was also cut out, because she would actually turn into that mindless puppet her after being squashed by Garfiel and start going rogue and hunting Subaru while he is searching for Beatrice in the next episode, but that whole sequence was not included, so they left that info out altogether. Here is the official wiki for it: "Elsa's seeming immortality was caused from an ability that made her into a so-called "curse doll". It is a curse art which involves the user carving a curse mark that includes the information of the target they want to kill on someone, and upon activation, the person with the curse mark gains immortality, but as a cost, they lose their sense of self and can't do anything else but kill the target and they die when the target is killed. Also, there seems to be a limit to the immortality. However, there's supposedly a way to cast the curse without the person losing their sense of self, which is what happened to Elsa, though repeatedly dying turned her into a curse doll. People who become curse dolls are mistakenly referred to as vampires due to a curse doll once drinking blood in an attempt to die. Though in fairness to Luke, some systems of vampire rules say a person will turn into a vampire if their blood is drained by a vampire, but not enough to kill them (Bram Stoker's Dracula) while others say a person becomes a vampire by drinking vampire blood. Both of those happened here, so it makes sense that he would be concerned.

Most of the lines actually came from the IF chapters in Web Novel. so yes indeed, those future from 'what if' actually do count as a possibility and maybe the studio wants to give a little bit of fanservice for novel readers.

When there's fine dust such as flour and heat is applied such as fire, a violent explosion can occur due to the particles quickly moving and clashing with each other thus producing a chain reaction of sudden increase of heat in a enclosed space. (that too, it must be done in a room so the density of dust is higher than clean air, unlikely to work on an open room, less so an open field) That's the basis of Subaru's plan and it is a real thing that happens in real life. (my explanation is simplified but it gets the point across)
Presumably all of the quotes shown in the trial about the future will appear in the story and are only a spoiler until you finally get to that point. I'll go over who i think said what. Keep in mind that these lines are supposed to be easily brushed over since they will only leave you with piles of questions. It is a perfect way to set up hype and once this story is fully completed, you will look back at this scene with a big smile on your face and say "What an amazing author man..." All right time to go ham on speculation. This will have SPOILERS about ARC 5 AND 6 and will be heavily speculative, so be warned!!!!! Reinhard is gonna get a lot of character development until Tappei is done beating him down emotionally it seems. Is Wilhelm talking to Reinhard about the blessing of the sword saint? If so, this makes sense since he calls him a thief for stealing it from Theresia. It would be odd for him to be saying this since he's let what happened die normally. Petra is definitely gonna get more importance. Expected. Rom is self-explanatory. It's gotta be about Felt. Al I have 0 clue. Al is such a big blur of a character in the light novels. I don't know enough. Otto is really going through it. Don't worry. He'll be fine like always, right? I don't think the black blood is a curse, so Crusch is talking about something completely different. Her voice also sounds powerful so it can't have to do with that. Priscilla wins, as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary, which is what makes it odd to be included. This will be speculative since I haven't finished arc 6 yet but Ram might be talking about either Maylie or Arneb. I'll have to wait and read though. Julius I know is something he says in arc 6. It's clearly hinted since arc 3 in the light novel that Anastasia has issues with making friends, and one of her friends happens to be an artificial spirit created by a witch that may or may not be created for her immortality plan. If Foxidna betrays Anastasia, even if she did so unwillingly, I'll never forgive her. Subaru probably just made that promise with Garfiel if something went horribly wrong. Hopefully, the Ryuzus are gonna be fine. Roswaal might be legit and is talking about Ram, or he's saying that because Echidna is actually alive in different forms. Frederica is saying something very un-Frederica-like. It has some religious undertone to it so maybe something with witch cultists possessing- I'm stretching too far for this one. Felt is gonna fight a dragon?! Sounds great. Maybe it's THE dragon, but I have no clue. Ferris just gets bullied so hard by the author, that I can imagine him using Sacrament of the Immortal King on Crusch and it not working out like he wanted or something. Rem just being Rem as usual
This is not a spoiler, but I noticed Emilia and Minerva have similar color pattern for their clothes, white and purple. Also from how Minerva act and her words, she talk like she's Emilia's mother / someone very close to Emilia's mother at the very least.
Minerva is definitely Emilias mother in the anime version as she is the only human to also be one of the witches as well as having the same gentle eyes that Emilias mum is also said to have. They also are both bad singers and like helping people and hence her not wanting Emilia to see her face as she knows that she will recognise her. In the manga though it is Satella instead.

I don't read the manga BUT what I can confirm is that there is just just one Satella and there is said to be a seperate one. Let me talk a bit about what is so incredible regarding the themes in S2. By now we have got to know Roswaal bases his assumptions on not just the book but also the weakness of people. He believed Emilia to be unable to overcome her past, he believed Garfiel wouldn't be able to throw down the shackles of the sanctuary, and he also believed Ram wouldn't step out of order considering her hatred fro him, and how the present situation would be a great opportunity for her to revenge her clan. When Subaru was still shouldering everything alone, trying to finish the trial in Emilia's stead, avoid getting on Garfiel's wrong side, and avoid a conflict with Ram, he was essentially believing in the same things as Roswaal, and there are two incredible things regarding this. One is that they were right at the time. Thanks to the repeated attempts we got to see definitive proof that solving the situation with how things were was impossible. However for this attempt Subaru chose to believe in the good of those around him, and this pushed them to grow, becoming something more they had been before, sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Subaru, without his conscious volition, had been robbing them of what they could have become, and that held an opportunity to turn things around that even Roswaal did not see because of his twisted worldview. The other thing that's so incredible about all this is that Roswaal is so full of himself, that he doesn't realise that what has been pushing him forward for this 400 years, the love he has for Echidna, is the same strength he denies in others when he only accepts the negative in people, or even when he says "Who would believe in such a cheap emotion?!" to Ram. All this despite him being the living testament of what can be achieved through that "cheap emotion".
The OST at the end was sung by Ram's voice actor, its name is "What you do not know". We have Emilia's VA singing the 2nd ending and the OST of the lap pillow scene, Rem's VA singing the OST for Rem's confession, and Ram's VA singing the OST for Ram's confession.
The timelines don't match tho, the witches died 400 years prior where as Emilia was only frozen for 100. I'm really waiting to see how Tappei explains all this
@@RockPileHardAf We dont actually know Emilia's age. Tappei has always refused to answer her real age(which obviously implies its not 114~ like Subaru guesses). The issue is there is some clear connection of Minerva knowing Emilia(which wouldnt make sense if she died 300~ years before her birth), and the fact we know Emilia's mother is a full human(so even IF Minerva isnt the mother it makes no sense how Minerva would know the mother who would be born near 300 years after her death too). Along with the fact Puck was searching for Emilia for 300 years before finding her frozen and waited 100 years for her to unfreeze. That alone seems to imply Emilia was around 400 years ago.
@@TempRF Also from the novels heavily imply her parents had her during the age of the witches. The big theory involves arc 7 knowledge so spoiler warning ahead. But If your soul gets shrunk your body follows, Subaru is a kid because of Olbart's technique to do that. I'd assume either Emilia is Satella's twin sister and she had a shrinkification happen 300 years ago. Or Emilia is part of Satella's soul, Souls in Re:Zero are your body too, and aging is your soul expanding, and your body looks in the way it does because thats what the soul dictates. A soul that is smaller will result in a smaller body and mind, in other words a younger body and mind. But the big thing is I think people forget Tappei was originally a fanfic writer and he is heavily Kingdom Hearts inspired. My hot take is given the soul split you'd have a kingdom hearts style Ventus/Vanitas - light side dark side split into two and that eventually Emilia and Satella will unify into a complete person. This was a big theme for Subaru who even directly quoted Roxas in Arc 6, "I guess my summer vacation is over" when he reunited with his self to regain his memories. But as for Minerva, yeah it sure seems like Emilia's parents are minerva and a silver haired elf man who got turned into a cat spirit

But a mother who had to give up raising her daughter though? And thus no longer having "the right" to cry about it? That would make a lot of sense. 18:45 the reason rosawaal loses to garf in the other loop is because if he uses his spells he self destructs with them and the distance from garf to him is to short for him to defend properly in time even with his injury if they were outside a building with some actual distance between them rosawaal couldve kicked ass (since you know he can fly also wont hit himself with fireballs) on a side note rosawaal specializes in large scale magic

8:50 yes, some of those lines can be traced to arc 5 and 6 (season 3). some of the voices we hear that we do know are subaru, garfiel, otto, crusch, reinhard, wilhelm, julius, priscilla, felt, and maybe anastasia, but i could go on. there are many characters that say lines that may or may not come up in some shape in the future. some of these are very mysterious while others are straightforward, like why subaru would be in the same situation as puck, telling reinhard that he is a hero, and a hero is all he can be. 16:20 with the way that echidna's face was covered in the flashbacks as well as here, and adding on with emilia's question on who this is, implies the echidna that lies in that tomb (and the echidna from ryuzu's trial) is not the same echidna that we know from the tea party. this goes into a much bigger mystery as we dont know why the author chooses to make a distinction between different versions of echidna. 17:00 you can assume that in the same way that echidna creates her world through memory reconstruction, that the witches are probably also memory reconstructions. theyre all already dead, echidna just keeps their memories alive 29:00 i like bringing this up because i think it goes to show just how persistent and crazy elsa is. in the webnovel her death doesnt go down like this. she is reduced to a crawling, burning demon that still has the will to kill, and she wheezes around the burning mansion chasing garfiel to kill him despite being in a very critical state. it gets to the point where the narration of the novel does not even describe her as elsa, let alone a human, she is more so described like some sort of mysterious creature from hell. she is eventually left to burn in the mansion and meets her end to the flames. 36:00 roswaal didnt do anything like sending the witch cult anywhere. he knew about the attack and was there to see it happen, but the book instructed him to watch and collect rem and ram once its over. so his abstinence from doing anything is reason for him to feel like he may as well have been a part of it. sort of a bystander's guilt i guess, which is rare from a man like roswaal
17m this one specifically, in the context of emilia trial and echidna word previously when she met subaru makes us speculate she might have kept her own first trial up forever just to not be alone and seeing emilia reject that illusion of peace and happiness is what made her cry. because she choose the lie instead of the truth of being alone forever.

ARC 6 SPOILERS FROM HERE ON subaru undoubtedly reminds echidna of flugel, and given the fact that echidna and flugel worked together, and the fact that echidna seems to hate satella, and the fact that flugel and satella seemed to have a bond similar to subaru and emilia, it would make sense for echidna to hate emilia and want subaru for herself. thats just my theory tho

Not much is known of Emilia's mother, just that she was human and her father was an elf. Beyond that.... perhaps it has yet to be set to paper? He was trying to get a dust explosion. Carbon based substances in powdered form if the particles are fine enough and you get just the right mix of them of air to powder can ignite and explode. An issue seen in bakeries and often depict in anime and manga as something easily achieved by just throwing a sack of flour at an enemy in a closed room. Reality is not that easy and Subaru thought he was clever for basically repeating what he saw in an anime, just to fail.

I highly recomend you to get a notebook for the reactions on this channel, because you forgot things often, and its not bad, much stuff to remember at first glance on anime. But the idea of the notebook is not just because you can go and reread something important, its because boosts the memory, and a lot of great reactors do this, in fact, most of the betters do this. I just discovered Autosave who use a notebook. It makes the discussions so much more enjoyable and coherent. I also think using a notebook for dialog heavy anime is a necessity. Their Discussions are on another level.

I don't think the show forgot Roswall is injured, his injuries probably weren't as serious as Roswall said them to be (he probably did it to appear weak to others) or he used some sort of healing magic, or he just fought injured and simply didn't give a crap 😅.
he used his contracted spirit to help heal faster, he let ram treat him as he was more injured becasue that makes her happy, and his injuries werent that grave to begin with, echidna would never endanger a person life, that her personal choice, so the magic incapactitates you. only read the light novel and it wasn't there, so that is probably a webnovel only thing. from what i can tell, the webnovel can drag things out since it's the original version of the story. i might read it once to compare it to the light novel, but i assume the light novel is the author's finalized version that he wants readers to look at the most
Minerva being Emilia’s mother is currently the most accepted theory as to who it could be right now I believe. Minerva when she was alive was very involved with the Elves and was great friends with them. We also know that she is one of the human witches (sloth is a half giant, it is believed that Lust is the vampire witch that garfeil talked about, with Pride and gluttony they are too young) and as you pointed out they have similar facial features. We know it can’t be Satella because she is also a half-elf. So given all that plus the reaction Minerva had with Emilia most people believe she is Emilias mother, of course nothing is confirmed. Also this meeting probably has some more significance in that it is completely different to the Web Novels chapter of this scene (basically the light novels rough draft). In the Web novel it was actually Sloth that met with Emilia because Minerva wasn’t allowed to or couldn’t talk to Emilia, but when the name Minerva was mentioned Emilia felt extremely nostalgic.

There were somethings the anime didn't told us, but the fiction told in the same time: 1) The seven witches are a group of close friends with diverse perspectives and frequent disagreements, yet bound together by shared experiences and circumstances. If the assumption that 'Emilia's mother is Satella' holds true, then perhaps Minerva's feelings towards Emilia are simply an aunt's affection for her niece. 2) The person in the coffin should also be Echidna, but she appeared differently in Emilia's dreams, which is why Emilia couldn't recognize her true form when she saw her.
Satella cant be the mother. Emilia's mother was a full human: "Emilia's half-elf parentage comes from her parents, her father an elf and her mother a human.” - from the author's twitter during S2 E17. Since Satella is a half-elf then it auto eliminates her from the role since it explicitly says "human". Since the barrier stopped Emilia we know she really is 50/50.

Emilia was able to overcome the second trial because she considers that those were possible futures but that they were avoided, mostly thanks to Subaru. But for Subaru it was the worst test because Subaru lived many of those futures and for him it may be that those worlds with those futures continue to exist and that the people he loves are suffering without him being present. Ignorance is a blessing sometimes
Episode 23 of S1 and S2 were my fav episodes. Remember the ending of Ep 23 of S1 was a certain person getting cut down after being possessed. Such a good ending.
These episodes are indeed amazing epic and great content, but I think the reason I and many others like season 2 has more to do with the witch's tea parties, and the lore we got out of the early part of Sanctuary. However, in episodes 5-13 of season 2 that lore and mystery was mixed in with a ton of absolute despair. That can make those episodes rough to watch emotionally especially if you haven’t spoiled yourself and you seemed to have missed a lot of subtle things and clues in those episodes which were later explained in comments, so that might be why those episodes stuck with you less than these ones which are epic, emotional, and revealing some of the mysteries we’ve been worried about for so long. However, that complexity is also what gives the show high rewatch value, and makes the novels/ Web Novel worth a look. Not taking anything away from Garfiel's absolutely savage brawl with the Bowel thrasher, but my girl Ram just performed the most BEAUTIFUL, BADASS, SELF SERVING, SATISFYING act of love I have ever seen in this show. All this time, Roswaal thinks Ram is really trying to kill him, only to be totally off the mark. Ram loves Roswaal. She wants to save him. What she wants to kill is his obsession, and the root of that evil is his tomb of wisdom. She even goes full oni mode to do it. She doesn't have her horn, so when she activates it, there is a backlash. How fitting that it was his own fire that burned the tomb to ashes. I'm proud of you Ram. ♥ Ironically, knowing the source material beforehand, this was the episode that I thought would be a train wreck given the pacing of the story up to this point. I was like "How in the world are they going to actually fit all this stuff in one episode"!? I feel confident that my worries were needless 😊 Minerva = Emilia's mom is a running theory, so I wouldn't say it is crazy, especially with this brief interaction between them. Minerva is the most popular pick for who people theorise was actually Emilia's mother. Emilia's past is major plot to the story of the series according to the author. So it should come as no surprise that her mother's identity is still a mystery.

3:52 Subaru thought the dust would ignite and explode. Which is a real thing that's pretty useful to know - dust clouds are more flammable than you may realize! You can find videos online of people doing that prank where you put flour in a hairdryer, but it goes very wrong as the heat of the hairdryer ignites the cloud of fine powder it just dispersed into the air, potentially causing burns when it was supposed to be just an innocent prank.

3:50 To be fair, Subaru actually did have a logical idea and what he was going for was a very real thing, he just didn't know enough about dust explosions to realize a single bag of flour is too little for the size of the room he was in. Flammable dust + fire in an enclosed space tends to result in an explosion as the fire VERY quickly ignites all the dust in the air, however the bigger that enclosed space is the more dust that is needed for an explosion to happen. So since this was a pretty big dining room, the single bag of flour Subaru used didn't fill the room with enough dust to trigger an explosion. Granted, Subaru is REALLY lucky it didn't work, since if it did he would've likely died as well. 27:40 Ram is 18 iirc. 42:10 Ram doesn't have a horn, however like all Oni she is able to go into her "oni form" to increase her power, which for most oni (like Rem) causing their glowing horn to appear, however because Ram doesn't have a horn anymore all that shows up with the glowing scar of where her horn should be. Because Ram doesn't have her horn anymore to absorb mana and facilitate this power increase however, using her oni form is very dangerous and results in, as seen here, her quickly collapsing and hurting herself (coughing up blood and bleeding from her horn scar in this instance).

Just to add the biggest hurdle for minverva being Emilia's mother is timeline elior forest incident is 100 years old with emilia/fortuna meanwhile minerva allegedly died 400 years ago. So it could be that emilia is elves even when smol she could have been 300 years old but that's as huge stretch but more importantly minverva isn't an elf and was allegedly human,so there is wierd time stretching going on and this one of many multiple cases of time stretching especially with AL from season 1 which had very important stuff cut about him.
So, about Roswaal's condition, he was not weakened as he made it seem. His comment about Garfiel being trouble on episode 11 was because of the specific circumstances at the time. Treat every word spoken by him in the failed loops as farts, he was bullshiting his way around to manipulate Subaru and everyone else.

A detail from the novel, regarding the conversation between Elsa and Garfield. When Garfield calls Elsa a vampire he is wrong. She is a cursed doll. Garfield is wrong, because some cursed dolls experimented with drinking blood, hence the confusion. Another thing, Elsa's death is different in the novel, she survives being crushed by the mabeast and then burns to death while chasing Subaru, that scene in the novel was scary.
Others think that the third trial was taken from Emilias memories and made the possible futures I actually think its all because of Subaru actually The whole time he fights against the fate - "Bring it on, oh inevitable fate!!" Elsa is not a vampire actually, but they didn't said it in anime for some reason. Originally she is a "cursed doll" - victim of an experiment and there is limit to her regeneration, so probably when she got bit by Garfiel she finally reached that limit.

After Re:Zero has finished you have to react to all the insert songs. The song at the end was Rams insert, Rems was in ep 18 of season 1 and Emilia has one, too. The special thing about these insert songs, is that they are sung by the VA's themselves.

Puck has been Caring for emilia since she woke up from the ice... at that point her mind was still ten years old, while her body had grown to a 14 year old body (while encased in the ice) but 100+ years had passed (she is now in a 17is body, with a 14ish mind, while chronologically 117ish)... therefore even though she looked like a teenager and was of adult age she was still but a child... so puck took care of her as if she were his daughter... Puck has been treating her as his daughter since episode one and subaru said as much having his conversations with puck as if he were talking to emilia's dad... even if just in a playful manner... so everybody does consider to be puck emilia's father figure...

They actually have the same face designs and this scene placing them side by side is a very intentional way of referencing how the novels have a very particular usage of descriptors. The novels make it a point to draw a distinction between cute and beautiful features. Emilia is always described as cute, and Minerva is described as cute as well. Fortuna also said that Emilia got her cute features from her mother. It's also worth noting the only other trait Fortuna talked about in regards to Emilia's mother was that she would be angry at her for dying. Cute and angry. That's how Minerva is described in the text, and it just so happens those are the only two traits Fortuna reveals about Emilia's mother. If we assume it to be true that Emilia is Minerva's daughter a couple parallels do line up between their personalities. They are both individuals that impulsively help others. Like Minerva's introduction to Subaru is her saving him, just as Emilia's first meeting with Subaru was. Funnily enough Subaru even noted to himself that Emilia is cute when she's mad in this first meeting. There's also Emilia's first trial which showed Emilia can lose herself and become wrathful, indicating she may be compatible or susceptible to the sin of Wrath. There's also two bits of cut content that the anime cut for time that further imply Emilia has a connection with Minerva at the very least. First is the description of Emilia's feelings when Minerva held her in this scene. Emilia felt a nostalgic sense of security in Minerva's embrace that she couldn't explain, like this was her proper place. The other bit of cut content is that back when Subaru had all the witches present more details were given about each of their deaths. Satella killing them all was a myth, another aspect of Satella just being blamed for things because she was the convenient boogeyman for history to place the blame. Anyway, one detail revealed about Minerva was that she had a very close relationship with the Elves. All in all the implications in this arc that Minerva is Emilia's mother is crazy strong. Many in the community consider it soft-canon until it gets officially revealed.
10:25 in the novels it was the witch of sloth who showed up and spoke to emilia here not wrath (i cant spell sloths name so i went with their titles) conversation was also a bit different and i dont think it ended the same way

9:00 These lines aren't spoilers (unless Re:Zero gets a bunch of spinoffs) those lines are from "what if" stories that the author releases on special dates about Subaru succumbing to one of the sins, for example the line "You're a hero and a hero is all you'll ever be" is from the Pride route where Subaru refuses to call for Reinhardt's help in the alley (from season 1) which then leads Subaru into a much darker timeline where instead of ever asking people for help he puppeteers events from the shadows to ensure that Emilia becomes king. If you're a big fan of Elsa, there is a what if story where Subaru joins up with Elsa and works int the background to help Emilia become Queen. It's referred to as the Pride storyline.
dust explosion: when air and some fuel are mixed together, in this case air and flour, is it possible to ignite it with a similar fashion of an explosion due to the temperature of ignition being very low since the resistance of the flour to get burned is reduced to basically 0. but, it can only work in exceptional dry atmosphere since humidity will raise said resistance again. so, of course, here it couldnt work (wrong climate zone). he does use it effectively and oneshot an enemy much later on in the novel though.

Few things I wanted to get out of my head: (apologies if I wrote an essay) 1.Bro, the final announcement that you've dropped on us is the reason why we're sticking round and watch your content. You give each anime its fighting chance and that's really thoughtful of an approach. 2. IMO season 2 is the reason why season 1 works. It hinted on the world's problems, the challenges on the way and it finally gave the characters that we've met their story and their ideologies which made EVERYTHING in season 1 more reasonable. 3. This is by far one of the most invested, pure-emotion reaction I've seen from someone reacting to this episode. This video is proof that you don't half-ass these reactions. in the novel we had more insight on emilia conversation with minerva. first thing first, she was being emotional all the time. and emilia felt strong nostalgia when she heard her name, despite not having any memories related to it. which is strange of course. in the web novel instead, she met sekhmet which tells her minerva cant show her face to her since she promised not to to her mother. she also says emilia mother is evil.

Yep, I used to work in a factory that made corrugated cardboard packaging. The processing of the cardboard creates a shitload of paper dust. There's a lot of care taking into account to suck the dust away and seal it in explosion safe zones.

Puck also lost a lot of power by forcefully ending the contract with Emilia he can only manifest right now because he sucked out Garfiels mans when Subaru stabbed him with the crystal that puck was in
-Roswaal wasn’t the one to attack the village but the tomb of wisdom for some reason made him wait till Ram lost her horn to then rescued them and take them him since that seems to be part of the “correct” timeline he was trying to achieve for himself
-I think it’s just personal preference season 2 gave us great build with the odds stacking against Subaru, world building, lore about the witches and immense character development from all of the Emilia camp and its new members so now it feels like the foundation is set for events on a way bigger stage and scale to take place that’s why season 2 is liked so much by Re:Zero fans I don’t think anyone is blinded by the last episodes most of us really enjoyed the trials and finding out about the past of our characters

Physics isn't different in re:zero world,it just didn't happen because it wasn't compact and air tight enough, although re:zero world has little bit lower gravity subaru noticed this in arc 1/2 but obviously anime cuts it.

Idk why they phrased it like Roswaal is directly behind the destruction of Ram's village. It is just a bad translation. There is an implication that Roswaal knew about the attack, but didn't prevent it and exploited the situation to his advantage, i.e getting Ram. Also it should be mentioned that her feelings for a clown were amplified by the erasure of Rem by Gluttony. The feelings she had for Rem went to Roswaal.

The other witch cultists who attacked Ram's village were following their gospels' instructions, and Roswell was following his. It's likely he was present as more than just a neutral third party to the battle, especially considering the amount of oni we see killed by fire magic. He is a member of that cult, and he has no compunctions about committing atrocities, so long as his gospel instructs him to do so.
42:11 You weren't seeing a horn, just the scar where her horn used to be. Ram can still go into her Oni Form which lets her use her powers to greatly boost her combat abilities for a short while, but she ends up vomiting blood and being unable to move for a long period of time.

people still have a valid reason to dislike the amount of cut content in season 2, but you cant deny that for the amount of time that was slotted for season 2, they did one hell of a job putting in as much as they could and getting it as right as they could too. the problem was never white fox, they really love re:zero. the only thing that kept season 2 back was that a 2 cour season was NOT enough for how insanely long arc 4 is

The decision of what to show and what is important for the current season is not just random. If 25 episodes are commissioned for the season then 25 episodes will be made. Here we don't have a manga to anime production but LN to anime. Of course there will be more content. In Season 1, I could already explain a lot of cut content to myself with Chekovs gun. By that I mean the principle in a modified form
To put it simply: Forshadowing for something that might be important in Season 3 or 4 (if they are made at all) then becomes cut content because it's not important for Season 1 or 2. It's then limited to the bare minimum. So as not to confuse the viewers with too much forshadowing (Chekovs Gun's).
Well, they did not elaborate on the vampire stuff. As they were already going over the normal runtime, this is something that was cut. I elaborate:
She is not a vampire, she explained it to him during the fight.
She uses a special curse (cursed doll) on herself that is like Russian roulet. Meaning she cannot die and heals instantly all sustained damage as long as she does not trigger the "bullet" and as long as her target is alive.
If she triggers the "bullet" and dies, she will become a mindless puppet which sole purpose is to hunt and kill the target and will only stop once the target dies.
She triggers the curse by edging special runes into her body which contains informations about her target.
This was also cut out, because she would actually turn into that mindless puppet her after being squashed by Garfiel and start going rogue and hunting Subaru while he is searching for Beatrice in the next episode, but that whole sequence was not included, so they left that info out altogether.
Here is the official wiki for it: "Elsa's seeming immortality was caused from an ability that made her into a so-called "curse doll". It is a curse art which involves the user carving a curse mark that includes the information of the target they want to kill on someone, and upon activation, the person with the curse mark gains immortality, but as a cost, they lose their sense of self and can't do anything else but kill the target and they die when the target is killed. Also, there seems to be a limit to the immortality. However, there's supposedly a way to cast the curse without the person losing their sense of self, which is what happened to Elsa, though repeatedly dying turned her into a curse doll. People who become curse dolls are mistakenly referred to as vampires due to a curse doll once drinking blood in an attempt to die. In the past, she called her ability a Blessing, a term used for abilities that originate from Gusteko."

My main complaint about Re:Zero is the copious amount of cut content from the anime adaptation.
Though in fairness to Luke, some systems of vampire rules say a person will turn into a vampire if their blood is drained by a vampire, but not enough to kill them (Bram Stoker's Dracula) while others say a person becomes a vampire by drinking vampire blood. Both of those happened here, so it makes sense that he would be concerned.

These voice lines may or may not be said in the actual story. But considering, that Future Trial is Echidna's creation, just like both "books of wisdom" , the situations that voice lines describe might happen (cuz book of wisdom could predict future good enough (but not perfectly))
Most of the lines actually came from the IF chapters in Web Novel. so yes indeed, those future from 'what if' actually do count as a possibility and maybe the studio wants to give a little bit of fanservice for novel readers.
Reading this is actually like the reveal of RbD and Subaru being the villain... If this is in actual story, then it's 100% happened but in Subaru POV only.

When there's fine dust such as flour and heat is applied such as fire, a violent explosion can occur due to the particles quickly moving and clashing with each other thus producing a chain reaction of sudden increase of heat in a enclosed space. (that too, it must be done in a room so the density of dust is higher than clean air, unlikely to work on an open room, less so an open field)
That's the basis of Subaru's plan and it is a real thing that happens in real life.

Presumably all of the quotes shown in the trial about the future will appear in the story and are only a spoiler until you finally get to that point. I'll go over who i think said what. Keep in mind that these lines are supposed to be easily brushed over since they will only leave you with piles of questions. It is a perfect way to set up hype and once this story is fully completed, you will look back at this scene with a big smile on your face and say "What an amazing author man..."

You can make many assumptions about what they say, but they may be HEAVILY taken out of context to make it seem like something while it's the complete opposite. We can be certain about the fact that these people said the lines and that they're not just placeholder voice actors.

All right time to go ham on speculation. This will have SPOILERS about ARC 5 AND 6 and will be heavily speculative, so be warned!!!!!
Reinhard is gonna get a lot of character development until Tappei is done beating him down emotionally it seems.
Is Wilhelm talking to Reinhard about the blessing of the sword saint? If so, this makes sense since he calls him a thief for stealing it from Theresia. It would be odd for him to be saying this since he's let what happened die normally.

It's clearly hinted since arc 3 in the light novel that Anastasia has issues with making friends, and one of her friends happens to be an artificial spirit created by a witch that may or may not be created for her immortality plan. If Foxidna betrays Anastasia, even if she did so unwillingly, I'll never forgive her.

This is not a spoiler, but I noticed Emilia and Minerva have similar color pattern for their clothes, white and purple. Also from how Minerva act and her words, she talk like she's Emilia's mother / someone very close to Emilia's mother at the very least.
Minerva is definitely Emilias mother in the anime version as she is the only human to also be one of the witches as well as having the same gentle eyes that Emilias mum is also said to have. They also are both bad singers and like helping people and hence her not wanting Emilia to see her face as she knows that she will recognise her. In the manga though it is Satella instead.

Let me talk a bit about what is so incredible regarding the themes in S2.
By now we have got to know Roswaal bases his assumptions on not just the book but also the weakness of people. He believed Emilia to be unable to overcome her past, he believed Garfiel wouldn't be able to throw down the shackles of the sanctuary, and he also believed Ram wouldn't step out of order considering her hatred fro him, and how the present situation would be a great opportunity for her to revenge her clan.
When Subaru was still shouldering everything alone, trying to finish the trial in Emilia's stead, avoid getting on Garfiel's wrong side, and avoid a conflict with Ram, he was essentially believing in the same things as Roswaal, and there are two incredible things regarding this.
One is that they were right at the time. Thanks to the repeated attempts we got to see definitive proof that solving the situation with how things were was impossible. However for this attempt Subaru chose to believe in the good of those around him, and this pushed them to grow, becoming something more they had been before, sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Subaru, without his conscious volition, had been robbing them of what they could have become, and that held an opportunity to turn things around that even Roswaal did not see because of his twisted worldview.
The other thing that's so incredible about all this is that Roswaal is so full of himself, that he doesn't realise that what has been pushing him forward for this 400 years, the love he has for Echidna, is the same strength he denies in others when he only accepts the negative in people, or even when he says "Who would believe in such a cheap emotion?!" to Ram. All this despite him being the living testament of what can be achieved through that "cheap emotion".
The OST at the end was sung by Ram's voice actor, its name is "What you do not know". We have Emilia's VA singing the 2nd ending and the OST of the lap pillow scene, Rem's VA singing the OST for Rem's confession, and Ram's VA singing the OST for Ram's confession.
Takahashi Rie (Emilia's VA) also sings Ep15 kissing scene OST ("Door") as well ❤

The issue is there is some clear connection of Minerva knowing Emilia(which wouldnt make sense if she died 300~ years before her birth), and the fact we know Emilia's mother is a full human(so even IF Minerva isnt the mother it makes no sense how Minerva would know the mother who would be born near 300 years after her death too). Along with the fact Puck was searching for Emilia for 300 years before finding her frozen and waited 100 years for her to unfreeze. That alone seems to imply Emilia was around 400 years ago.

I'd assume either Emilia is Satella's twin sister and she had a shrinkification happen 300 years ago. Or Emilia is part of Satella's soul, Souls in Re:Zero are your body too, and aging is your soul expanding, and your body looks in the way it does because thats what the soul dictates. A soul that is smaller will result in a smaller body and mind, in other words a younger body and mind.
But the big thing is I think people forget Tappei was originally a fanfic writer and he is heavily Kingdom Hearts inspired. My hot take is given the soul split you'd have a kingdom hearts style Ventus/Vanitas - light side dark side split into two and that eventually Emilia and Satella will unify into a complete person.
This was a big theme for Subaru who even directly quoted Roxas in Arc 6, "I guess my summer vacation is over" when he reunited with his self to regain his memories.
But as for Minerva, yeah it sure seems like Emilia's parents are minerva and a silver haired elf man who got turned into a cat spirit

8:50 yes, some of those lines can be traced to arc 5 and 6 (season 3). some of the voices we hear that we do know are subaru, garfiel, otto, crusch, reinhard, wilhelm, julius, priscilla, felt, and maybe anastasia, but i could go on. there are many characters that say lines that may or may not come up in some shape in the future. some of these are very mysterious while others are straightforward, like why subaru would be in the same situation as puck, telling reinhard that he is a hero, and a hero is all he can be.

I don't think the show forgot Roswall is injured, his injuries probably weren't as serious as Roswall said them to be (he probably did it to appear weak to others) or he used some sort of healing magic, or he just fought injured and simply didn't give a crap 😅.
he used his contracted spirit to help heal faster, he let ram treat him as he was more injured becasue that makes her happy, and his injuries werent that grave to begin with, echidna would never endanger a person life, that her personal choice, so the magic incapactitates you. (see patrache wounds to get a comparison of entity of damage)

Fun fact, in the novels, even after getting crushed, elsa still wasn't dead. From what I remember, She was fully out of shape and walking around like a jumbled humanoid creature until she finally burned to death in the mansion.

Minerva being Emilia’s mother is currently the most accepted theory as to who it could be right now I believe. Minerva when she was alive was very involved with the Elves and was great friends with them. We also know that she is one of the human witches (sloth is a half giant, it is believed that Lust is the vampire witch that garfeil talked about, with Pride and gluttony they are too young) and as you pointed out they have similar facial features. We know it can’t be Satella because she is also a half-elf. So given all that plus the reaction Minerva had with Emilia most people believe she is Emilias mother, of course nothing is confirmed. Also this meeting probably has some more significance in that it is completely different to the Web Novels chapter of this scene (basically the light novels rough draft). In the Web novel it was actually Sloth that met with Emilia because Minerva wasn’t allowed to or couldn’t talk to Emilia, but when the name Minerva was mentioned Emilia felt extremely nostalgic.

Well, I can't recognize some voices but here's the rest.
There were somethings the anime didn't told us, but the fiction told in the same time:
1) The seven witches are a group of close friends with diverse perspectives and frequent disagreements, yet bound together by shared experiences and circumstances.
If the assumption that 'Emilia's mother is Satella' holds true, then perhaps Minerva's feelings towards Emilia are simply an aunt's affection for her niece.
2) The person in the coffin should also be Echidna, but she appeared differently in Emilia's dreams, which is why Emilia couldn't recognize her true form when she saw her.
Satella cant be the mother. Emilia's mother was a full human: "Emilia's half-elf parentage comes from her parents, her father an elf and her mother a human.” - from the author's twitter during S2 E17. Since Satella is a half-elf then it auto eliminates her from the role since it explicitly says "human". Since the barrier stopped Emilia we know she really is 50/50.
Well, OST is known as "What you don't know" and it's singed by the voice actor of Ram! Looking forward to you listening to full version of it! It's another character song, next to Stay Alive and DOOR (from Emilia and Rem).

Yes, Ram lost her horn and that's why she can faint during fights (like in season one during Rem rescue) and that's why she spilled blood after attack. She used all her mana to do this one quick as wind attack to take book and after that she was so weak she spilled blood and couldn't get up.
Roswaal planned the attack on Ram and Rem village and then "rescued them" after everything that needed to be done was done and what was done I think you'll see in the future (just not this season).

Emilia was able to overcome the second trial because she considers that those were possible futures but that they were avoided, mostly thanks to Subaru. Episode 23 of S1 and S2 were my fav episodes. Remember the ending of Ep 23 of S1 was a certain person getting cut down after being possessed. Such a good ending.
Yeah i always feel so bad/sad when that scene happens.
But there are many scenes that Re:Zero made me emotional.
These episodes are indeed amazing epic and great content, but I think the reason I and many others like season 2 has more to do with the witch's tea parties, and the lore we got out of the early part of Sanctuary. However, in episodes 5-13 of season 2 that lore and mystery was mixed in with a ton of absolute despair. That can make those episodes rough to watch emotionally especially if you haven’t spoiled yourself and you seemed to have missed a lot of subtle things and clues in those episodes which were later explained in comments, so that might be why those episodes stuck with you less than these ones which are epic, emotional, and revealing some of the mysteries we’ve been worried about for so long. However, that complexity is also what gives the show high rewatch value, and makes the novels/ Web Novel worth a look. The importance of the difference between anime adaptations and novels is only going to increase as we start Overlord.

Not taking anything away from Garfiel's absolutely savage brawl with the Bowel thrasher, but my girl Ram just performed the most BEAUTIFUL, BADASS, SELF SERVING, SATISFYING act of love I have ever seen in this show. All this time, Roswaal thinks Ram is really trying to kill him, only to be totally off the mark. Ram loves Roswaal. She wants to save him. What she wants to kill is his obsession, and the root of that evil is his tomb of wisdom. She even goes full oni mode to do it. She doesn't have her horn, so when she activates it, there is a backlash. How fitting that it was his own fire that burned the tomb to ashes. I'm proud of you Ram. ♥
Ironically, knowing the source material beforehand, this was the episode that I thought would be a train wreck given the pacing of the story up to this point. I was like "How in the world are they going to actually fit all this stuff in one episode"!? I feel confident that my worries were needless 😊

3:50 To be fair, Subaru actually did have a logical idea and what he was going for was a very real thing, he just didn't know enough about dust explosions to realize a single bag of flour is too little for the size of the room he was in. Flammable dust + fire in an enclosed space tends to result in an explosion as the fire VERY quickly ignites all the dust in the air, however the bigger that enclosed space is the more dust that is needed for an explosion to happen. So since this was a pretty big dining room, the single bag of flour Subaru used didn't fill the room with enough dust to trigger an explosion. Granted, Subaru is REALLY lucky it didn't work, since if it did he would've likely died as well.

A imporante point is that Emilia first vision wasn't the mansion on fire, but the Royal Palace of Lugnica, you can compare with season 1 to see.
Some of these have already happened, so yehhh, it isn't just Echidna trying to bullying Emilia. Some of those may happen and some may not, or maybe all these will. We can just wait.
Just to add the biggest hurdle for minverva being Emilia's mother is timeline elior forest incident is 100 years old with emilia/fortuna meanwhile minerva allegedly died 400 years ago.
So it could be that emilia is elves even when smol she could have been 300 years old but that's as huge stretch but more importantly minverva isn't an elf and was allegedly human,so there is wierd time stretching going on and this one of many multiple cases of time stretching especially with AL from season 1 which had very important stuff cut about him.
So, about Roswaal's condition, he was not weakened as he made it seem. His comment about Garfiel being trouble on episode 11 was because of the specific circumstances at the time. Treat every word spoken by him in the failed loops as farts, he was bullshiting his way around to manipulate Subaru and everyone else.

A detail from the novel, regarding the conversation between Elsa and Garfield. When Garfield calls Elsa a vampire he is wrong. She is a cursed doll. Garfield is wrong, because some cursed dolls experimented with drinking blood, hence the confusion. Another thing, Elsa's death is different in the novel, she survives being crushed by the mabeast and then burns to death while chasing Subaru, that scene in the novel was scary.

Puck has been Caring for emilia since she woke up from the ice... at that point her mind was still ten years old, while her body had grown to a 14 year old body (while encased in the ice) but 100+ years had passed (she is now in a 17is body, with a 14ish mind, while chronologically 117ish)... therefore even though she looked like a teenager and was of adult age she was still but a child... so puck took care of her as if she were his daughter... Puck has been treating her as his daughter since episode one and subaru said as much having his conversations with puck as if he were talking to emilia's dad... even if just in a playful manner... so everybody does consider to be puck emilia's father figure...

They actually have the same face designs and this scene placing them side by side is a very intentional way of referencing how the novels have a very particular usage of descriptors. The novels make it a point to draw a distinction between cute and beautiful features. Emilia is always described as cute, and Minerva is described as cute as well. Fortuna also said that Emilia got her cute features from her mother. It's also worth noting the only other trait Fortuna talked about in regards to Emilia's mother was that she would be angry at her for dying. Cute and angry. That's how Minerva is described in the text, and it just so happens those are the only two traits Fortuna reveals about Emilia's mother.
If we assume it to be true that Emilia is Minerva's daughter a couple parallels do line up between their personalities. They are both individuals that impulsively help others. Like Minerva's introduction to Subaru is her saving him, just as Emilia's first meeting with Subaru was. Funnily enough Subaru even noted to himself that Emilia is cute when she's mad in this first meeting. There's also Emilia's first trial which showed Emilia can lose herself and become wrathful, indicating she may be compatible or susceptible to the sin of Wrath.
There's also two bits of cut content that the anime cut for time that further imply Emilia has a connection with Minerva at the very least. First is the description of Emilia's feelings when Minerva held her in this scene. Emilia felt a nostalgic sense of security in Minerva's embrace that she couldn't explain, like this was her proper place. The other bit of cut content is that back when Subaru had all the witches present more details were given about each of their deaths. Satella killing them all was a myth, another aspect of Satella just being blamed for things because she was the convenient boogeyman for history to place the blame. Anyway, one detail revealed about Minerva was that she had a very close relationship with the Elves.
All in all the implications in this arc that Minerva is Emilia's mother is crazy strong. Many in the community consider it soft-canon until it gets officially revealed.

9:00 These lines aren't spoilers (unless Re:Zero gets a bunch of spinoffs) those lines are from "what if" stories that the author releases on special dates about Subaru succumbing to one of the sins, for example the line "You're a hero and a hero is all you'll ever be" is from the Pride route where Subaru refuses to call for Reinhardt's help in the alley (from season 1) which then leads Subaru into a much darker timeline where instead of ever asking people for help he puppeteers events from the shadows to ensure that Emilia becomes king.

If you're a big fan of Elsa, there is a what if story where Subaru joins up with Elsa and works int the background to help Emilia become Queen. It's referred to as the Pride storyline.

dust explosion: when air and some fuel are mixed together, in this case air and flour, is it possible to ignite it with a similar fashion of an explosion due to the temperature of ignition being very low since the resistance of the flour to get burned is reduced to basically 0. but, it can only work in exceptional dry atmosphere since humidity will raise said resistance again. so, of course, here it couldnt work (wrong climate zone). he does use it effectively and oneshot an enemy much later on in the novel though.

A dust explosion is something that happened in real life mills sometimes, and in a lot of Isekai anime the main character uses their "knowledge of the real world" (read: "knowledge of other Isekai where the main characters cause dust explosions") to cause a massive explosion with just flour and fire, so Subaru thought he could do the same
Few things I wanted to get out of my head: (apologies if I wrote an essay)
1.Bro, the final announcement that you've dropped on us is the reason why we're sticking round and watch your content. You give each anime its fighting chance and that's really thoughtful of an approach.
2. IMO season 2 is the reason why season 1 works. It hinted on the world's problems, the challenges on the way and it finally gave the characters that we've met their story and their ideologies which made EVERYTHING in season 1 more reasonable.
3. This is by far one of the most invested, pure-emotion reaction I've seen from someone reacting to this episode. This video is proof that you don't half-ass these reactions. Can't wait for you to react to my favorite episode of this series: episode 24!
in the novel we had more insight on emilia conversation with minerva. first thing first, she was being emotional all the time. and emilia felt strong nostalgia when she heard her name, despite not having any memories related to it. which is strange of course. in the web novel instead, she met sekhmet which tells her minerva cant show her face to her since she promised not to to her mother. she also says emilia mother is evil.
Of all the idioms Garfiel uses, the one about Reid laughing is my favorite.
