Re:zero without PAIN and SUFFERING actually DOES EXIST, it's (unofficially referred to as) Vainglory If, Subaru just goes to school, Beatrice is his little sister, Rem is his childhood friend who has a crush on him, Ram is Ram, Satella is Subaru's crazy yandere (self-proclaimed) girlfriend (who may or not live in his attic without anyone knowing), and of course Emilia is Subaru's crush. The other characters just fill in various roles that I can't remember at the moment.
Not sure if you've noticed, but Beatrice pretty much never called anyone by their name, not wanting to form any kind of emotional attachment to them. It's always been "the elf girl", "the blue maid", "the beast maid", "the clown" etc, so her finally calling Subaru by his name is a pretty powerful moment.
Honestly Beatrice is a masterclass representation of how to do foreshadowing right. From her not addressing people by name, to nearly every scene she's in be her facing the door waiting to be rescued. Genius ways to show emotion without telling.
*"Choose me, Beatrice! You WANT someone to get you out of here! Isn't that why you've always sat in front of this door!? "* This is PEAK Fiction and this scene makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME.
8:29 Yes, here, the Echidna voice actor is speaking as Ryuzu Shima. there is an explanation to this, but maybe you want to find out yourself in the future. Ryuzu Shima had her body hijacked by Echidna when she entered the tomb to save Garfiel when he had tried to take the trial as a kid. This info is revealed at the end of Arc 4 when Ryuzu Shima (Echidna) is sneaking out of the sanctuary with the 5 witches. She's now calling herself Omega.
Even tho I know this. I can't believe I just now made the connection between this and Garfiel being an Apostle of Greed when he presumably never got invited to a tea party like Subaru did.
Knowing you’re a Betty enjoyer I knew this episode would be peak for you, this is the first time she called Subaru by his name they now have a formal contract. Also great detail of her sitting in front of the door even in season 1 you saw it but just now you realize she actually did and why she did it -Audio is a bit weird from your mic feed this episode -Good you noticed the voice being different, what I can say is that it was Echidnas but why that is would fall into spoiler territory since like Season 1 the actual ending of season 2 had been cutout as we’ll probably get it at the beginning of season 3 -Puck being alive or dead never has been a question as explained in the comments previous episodes ago he already existed before the contract with Emilia and breaking it or not having a crystal doesn’t mean his end. We just saw him this episode talking to Roswaal not too long ago -The point is her wanting to die for a long time so she’s seeing this as opportunity to finally put an end to her existence she split that part of the dimension the forbidden library is in to kick Subaru out
i do wonder if we will get the proper ending of season 2 in season 3 since this time, its not immediately important and could be ignored until way later. I really hope they do though
@@ilikehatzz2899 I don't know. I doubt it, because it has yet to become really relevant in the story.. they did the typical nodge towards the source readers with the Echidna VA swap with Shima, to let us know that they did not forget about it but thats about it i think.
@@sam_mitschiro yeah i agree, maybe they would have included it in a s2 director's cut but thats not happening this time around so almost no chance we see it
Waited the entire season for that Beatrice x Subaru scene. It was so heartwarming to see how much she opened up to him. Credit to Subaru’s persistence. Betty was always my favorite side character.
"Choose me" those were the same words with which Subaru asked Rem to escape from the capital with him. but this time he did not do it out of desperation, spite or cowardice. This series continues to hit the heart with these speeches. I really want to hear Subaru's speech in the city of pristella in this third season. I remember that when I read it in the novel, I spent the whole week with a silly smile on my face..
Remember, that Subaru has affinity for spirits? Now he's officially a spirit arts user. And right on time, after he lost his own gate and isn't capable to use magic. Also remember, that Beatrice's magic element is also Yin/Darkness (just like Subaru's was), so this is also shared between them, which surely makes their affinity even higher. And this element is pretty strong, considering it's what allows you to impare opponents, manipulate space and time, and even fight directly, like Beatrice did before. Considering this, Subaru didn't actually lose his Shamac for sure. They are perfect contract partners AFAIK. The only problem is maybe that Subaru's mana pool is low and he lacks good magic and spirit arts training (which would take years). But affinity itself is very high. Even Beatrice wouldn't deny that. Also this kind of reminds about that one timeline, where they formed a temporary contract, but then, when it was supposed to end, Beatrice said something like "I don't remember discussing a time limit". Just tells you, that she basically wanted to make a permanent contract. Also she was ready to fight Roswaal and everyone else probably over it, because this was the most important thing to her. Not library or old acquaintances. Back then she also left the library, most likely because she didn't need it anymore, as her contract with Echidna ended, when she chose Subaru. Back then she also did this, because Subaru asked for her help. I think the parallels between those events are very interesting. This time it was much more real though, because they both understood and wanted this contract, in permanent form of course. And obviously it's also more than just a contract, they became much closer and accepted each other. Beatrice finally fully opened up to someone and it's not even before that someone dies.
you were this close to noticing something REALLY big. You mentioned that ryuzus voice sounded different there for a second when talking to emilia next to the crystal. The reason why she sounded different was because the voice was echidnas. Play back the scene again and you will notice that it is echidnas voice actress talking there for a second. Gives you something to think about doesnt it? The whole reason the sanctuary was created was to experiment on transferring your own soul into a different body to make you immortal. Then someone completed the trial and "freed" sanctuary and one of the clones of the person with the highest affinity for your experiments suddenly talks in echidnas voice. Also god damn. Beako is my favourite character in this anime and watching this episode always hits so damn hard. From the early beginning of season 1 they sprinkled some details about her character here and there and if you rewatch the reason you think back and realise how much sense some of those seemingly random scenes made. This made the payoff in this episode hit so much harder
You'll notice Betty will constantly be holding onto Subaru's hand. This is because she is both incredibly clingy, but also because Subaru is her new source of Mana now that they formed a contract. Since unlike most spirit users he is very weak in mana so she constantly needs it. In the LN they even sleep together every night so she can keep constant contact for that energy. It's pretty cute and creative.
This isn't a spoiler because it was cut out from the anime but: In the Web Novel version of the scene, right before Subaru opens the last door to Beatrice, a mutated zombie version of Elsa (similar to Petelgeuse in the last episode of Season 1) appeared behind Subaru. Subaru entered the door to Beatrice before she could get him and she was engulfed in an explosion and burned down with the mansion.
@@arnabbiswasalsodeep it’s less the archbishops but more of Petelgeuse really since he’s a spirit possessing a human body. He uses his unseen hands to regenerate. I think it’s just that it messes up the pacing of the scene since the guiltylaw also came back here and it might’ve taken away from the actual impact or purpose
@@arnabbiswasalsodeep Also, I'm pretty sure it would've killed most of the pacing and emotional tone they were going for at this point lol - any implementation of that would've interrupted Betty and Subaru's heartfelt conversation (since it takes place over different instances, and Subaru rushing back into the manor is basically still part of the same emotional moment). It'd be a bit like some random Stormtroopers interrupting Luke's nice goodbye scene with Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi to chase him around the throne room, or Palps jumpscaring him as he was taking off the helmet lmfao
Re:Zero season 2's last few episodes peak SOOOOO freaking hard man, I've seen the Beako argument so many times and it never fails to get to me. Season 1 may have had alot more diverse and action packed plot points that catch new viewers, but season 2 is a perfect slow-burn of buildup leading into the most satisfying series of events I've seen any Isekai pull off with all of its characters being relevant. The music use is so perfect because the earlier episodes didn't use things like op's or ed's often so we've been getting really good insert songs that fit the mood perfectly, and after all the emotional buildup this episode used that ED at it's peak! Man, I know I adore the next few arcs of the series more than this one, but the anime did soooo many things so well that it made this arc one of my favorites through its own merits!
Beako best girl as always. Fun fact, im pretty sure this chapter ("choose me") of the webnovel held up as the top fan favourite chapter for years. And it's easy to see why 8:39 I'm glad you noticed. It's echidna's voice. Make of that what you will. Kinda sad the anime didn't have time for the epilogue of the light novel volume. 26:49 I love how the first time he grabbed that door, his fingers froze there. And the second time he did that, his fingers burned.
Fun fact-not sure if this can be considered as a spoiler cuz the ln heavly implied during the ex novels before and during arc 4, so be warned: 'that person' was subaru all along. subaru being isekaid was predicted by the tome of wisdom and from the looks of it, Beatrice was created to aid someone with 0 power that has shadow atributes.
I think luke would love season 3 the most, imo s2 is the best but S3 will bless us with a lot of action and the build up is real for you know who vs you know who 👀👀
We all knew this episode was going to be great. But damn it, look at Otto's face at 32:50. It looks so painful, the face of losing a friend. Damn, I love Otto.
Peak Zero at your service, Choose Me is definitely the best episode there is in Re;Zero! I knew you would absolutely love these final episodes, and now you'll soon know the pain of the weekly Re;Zero release in season 3. Betty and Subaru's shenanigans will be even funnier as well. Let us pray now folks, ALL HAIL THE LOLIMANCER!!!
@@shauryasuri3653 I used to think the same, and I'm an anime only too, (idk if you are) but being part of the weekly discussion for S3 might be one of the worst things you could miss out on ngl. I hate waiting a week for episodes, but I would advise doing so this time. Who knows when s4 will come out, as the source material gets drastically harder to adapt into anime-form after s3. Sometimes those comment sections and talking about it with people in the loop can make memories.
Betty is finally free!🎉 Knew you'd love "Choose Me", easily one of the best moments of the series. Betty and Subaru make such a good team. Makes me even more excited for S3! Beatrice is a great spirit who specializes in Yin magic. Yin magic lets you 'debuff' things, but it also allows you to manipulate space and time(to a limited extent). Her purple crystals are literally made of time frozen in place, and they rapidly decay anything they touch. She can also make portals and looping hallways, as you've seen throughout the show. The library itself existed inside a pocket dimension contained within the mansion, though it's been destroyed now. Yin magic is pretty rare overall, but Subaru also has an affinity for it, making the two of them even more compatible with each other. Remember that Subaru broke his gate, meaning he can't use magic anymore. But with Beatrice as his contracted spirit, he can work around that now.
I just realized another possible explanation for why Enchilada left the Library of Knowledge to Beatrice and for her to wait for "that person", SHE WAS LOOKING FOR A SUCCESSOR!!! In the event she were to die, she did not want all the knowledge she acquired to simply go to waste, so she left Beatrice with task of being the Library's Guardian, and "THAT PERSON" was supposed to be whoever Beatrice found worthy of succeeding Echidna in her endless pursuit of knowledge!!! I was so fkin used to Tappei's writting past that arc that I did not consider one way the story could have gone to, had Tappei not scratched that idea early on. Holy shhh
it was a white lie. she remains there, roswald too, and so when hector find her and kill her they wont be harmed (she let herself be killed). thats all. she hoped beatrice will realize the promise she made was a lie, get angry and then chose someone to spend an happy life with. she underestimated her stubborness and her fears. naturally, if beatrice behave like she hoped, roswald too would have known the lie and not be stuck with the book. but sadly ti didnt went like that.
@@doublehit9165 Echidona doesn't strike me as a frivolous person, so if she created the great library of knowledge, she must've had a purpose for it. I'll just it as one of Tappei early ideas that got scrapped, Echidona wanted a successor in the case she did not make it out of the sanctuary alive. As the witch of greed she would have a failsafe for all kinds of ways the situation could've gone through, I can't believe I noticed a theory like this could exist only now.
@@SilverYPheonix *spoiler * we don't know how much older echidna in grave & in next ep was mellow and different than the younger one in castle of dreams, but they had certainly been quite different from even emila not recognising the face much. Younger was quite quippy in response while older one with face obscured had similar mannerisms resembling her young self but had kinder intensions than just pure greed of curiosity.
@@arnabbiswasalsodeep perfect, and this brings me to my one idea I'd never even considered past this point. Young Echidona is uber unhinged, but Oldchidona might have had purer intentions to send Beatrice looking for "that person". And we might've had a true Apostle of Greed that could even reach Archbishop powerlevel by having access to the library of knowledge and learning all sorts of occult things just like Roswaal.
10:00 as of this scene pucks status is the same as subarus day 1 using magic where he was stuck on the bench and couldnt move until he got some mana back (except pucks kinda unconscious on top of that since hes a spirit and requires more mana to function than subaru does)
Re:Zero is a peak story-writing and Nagatsuki Tappei is a genius author. Also the love that all the staff of White Fox studio has toward this series is amazing.
20:10 echidna created multiple spirits (this is why beatrice refers to her as "mother") puck was created before beatrice so hes the older brother (though spirits have no blood so no blood relation)
Since rezero s2 about to end React following videos 1) rezero s3 teaser and posters 2) rezero break time episodes 3) rezero if story summaries And 4) how rezero s2 actually ends
oh, and in the web novel version, satella creates a shadow shield to filter the air and stops the heat around subaru so he could search for beatrice in the middle of the fire with zero problems. she also make sure subaru doesn tsee the shield. seems like she was very happy with what he said earlier.
Satomi Arai, Beako's VA, said she cried HARD during her performance in this episode.. She wasn't the only one, I was BALLING too. Another fun fact: during Roswaal's breakdown he stops using "Watashi" for "I" and then uses "Boku". "Boku wa" as "I" is exclusively used for boys. In that breakdown he reverted to a childlike state, which was brilliant performed by one of the GOAT of GOATs: Takehito Koyasu!
Roswal continued Edchina's research into immortality but realized that he could not transfer his soul to any body, because the body would reject the new soul. so he changed his strategy by transferring his soul into compatible bodies. That unfortunate Roswal has been possessing his family for generations. By the way, the second Roswal was called Roswal B. Mathers, while the current one was Roswal L. mathers. that's 12 generations😅
Roswaal was researching soul transfer on his first visit to the forbidden library. He is basically just moving his soul to a new body to keep himself alive forever.
An interesting note about Roswaal: In the scene after Puck left and when he asked Echidna what he should do next, he switches from the formal 'watashi' he usually uses to address himself to the bit more informal 'boku', which is often also used by young boys (but also adult men can use it). This shows how, without the book, he reverts back to the more insecure young Roswaal he was 400 years ago. I love how the japanese language is able to pull off stuff like that so subtly.
The Tome of Wisdom works largely based on your decisions and actions, the main reason that Beako's book stopped showing her the future was that Beako sat there and did nothing, waiting for "that person" that Echidna told her to wait for. Roswaal's worked perfectly because he always had a goal in his head, always had a plan in mind and never changed that, he was going to reunite with Echidna no matter what it took and the book showed him the options to seek that future out. Echidna knew that Beako choosing nothing would leave the book blank, she didn't inform her of this as a way to test Beako of her decisions and choices, on the face of it she was valuing Beako's decision-making on her own and letting her have independence but she was in fact just manipulating Beako to make decisions that would be interesting for Echidna to make, whether she chose to help someone or whether she decided to sit and do nothing, both options were interesting for Echidna as they were possibilities that were outside of the "true future" she could see via her Authority, we know this as Echidna explained the books are imperfect copies of her Authority and they show the future, that she also did this after the loss of Ryuzu was evil as well as Beako was fragile and scared, would therefore do whatever a person she cared about said and not question it.
17:00 the book itself was not incomplete its that the book is a imperfect copy of echidnas power (which implies she knows the future to some degree but disregarding that) rosawaals book still had written pages (which adapted to the current present for his instructions of what to do later) semi explanation idk if i can do it without spoilers: beatrices copy of the tome stopped saying anything becuase she doesnt have a goal in life like rosawaal did (this is like a half baked outline of how they work) so there are no steps to take in the future to achieve that goal since it doesnt exist (remeber rosawaal says the book will lead him to his dearest wish) the gospels of the witches cult are defective copies of the same tome of wisdom and betelguese was always checking his to see what to do next or who he would meet so it makes sense if the tome is just a life guide to achieving ones desires (we will ignore the part where betelguese was only seen using it AFTER he went insane)
First of all I like how you glossed over the "I feel like it's been a lifetime ago" pun of epicness even I had to appreciate. Second, Subaru absolutely handled Beatrice the correct way. He had to make her willingly choose him because had he just told her Echidna had lied to her she never would have accepted it. Hell, she couldn't accept such a thing after hundreds of years. But by being stubborn and forcing the issue she's finally chosen herself.
Roswaal is the same, he replicated his soul and passed it down to his child, from roswaal A mathers to B to C to D, all the way till the current one, roswaal L mathers. He is the same as 400 years ago. He implants his soul into his unborn offspring. Btw roswaal J mathers, the grandmother of the currect roswaal was female, so he's been upto some stuff 😂😂
Same! This was the episode that hit me first time watching on just how much he had grown. Comparing s1 ep 13 Subaru to THIS Subaru is a massive difference, and I just love it so much.
yin magic, hers and subarus magic, it's also very closely linked with both time and space magic. So, she can alter the fabric of space within the mansion and used that magic to "eject" him as you said.
When Roswell first went to the library with Beatrice remember he was researching soul transference. You can do the math on why his descendents all act like him.
19:13 It is pretty much implied with Roswaal's line at the start of the scene, but it is (from my understanding, if I'lm wrong someone who knows better can correct me) the same soul, passed down from vessel to vessel, most likely (confirmed?) starting from Roswaal A Mathers (or Roswaal Mathers) and going B, C, D etc... to the one vessel we currently know, Roswaal L Mathers
I watched Re:Zero only once since it first came out. I used your reactions to rewatch it and what can i say. I cried again thats how powerfull the story is. Right before the music kicks in i was holding back but then when the music starts and they fly together ... tears of joy
33:55 Seeing you go through that wave of emotions at the end was great 😁 "Choose Me" is probably my favorite episode of Re:Zero (so far, anyway). Everything about it is amazing.
its kinda irelevant honestly, its just now shes on his side finnaly, but the story moves forward in even crazier ways, this show just keeps going up and up in insanity, honesty im scared for how it may end, because it just builds up and up,its hard to land it,just look at attack on titan
also it's the same roswaal because in beako memories he was reading about how to copy the soul and make a vessel like betelgeuse, so even if he present himself descendant of... to beako and others it's just him after transfered his soul to a new vessel
Genuinely love this interaction so much. Subaru could have just said he's that person and it'd be so easy, and I see people even call him an asshole for it. His honesty is so great though; he'll never be this person. Don't choose him for being some random who he'd have to strive to meet those expectations. Choose him for him. Choose him because you want to. Don't make a decision because you were told to by your mother make a decision for yourself! If he hadnt done this, Betty would still be trapped by Echidna's path even if she'd gone with him. Now she's free.
I knew you would love this episode as how much you have spoken about Betty as a character! Seeing your reactions to this episode was just pure joy and put a smile on my face! 😊
When Echidna said the Tome of Wisdom is incomplete, it's in comparison to HER book which literraly has all the knowledge the world could possibly have. Betty and Roswaal's book only tells them their future and instructions to cause it, but that's all, Echidna's book knows tue future of everybody in all ages.
It's never really stated explicitly, but I'm pretty sure just like Echidna gave Betty a book that ends up blank to see if she'd make a decision on her own to do something, she gave Roswal a book that ends with him doing terrible things to see if he'd make a decision on his own to not do something. It's definitely something Echidna would do.
Minerva did say Echidna was a jerk who played mean pranks. The idea that she would give such advice and such to see if someone would do it or not just to feed her Greed
This episode is really emotional that I felt like tearing up even though I've watched this before. Betty telling about her life these 400 years and how she felt about everything explains why in the other timelines, she kept saving Subaru's life and in some get angry when Subaru decides to get back in the danger. She felt like someone else she got close to is leaving her again and she even once thought Subaru could be "that person" so there's also the disappointment in there. After this season, you'd be with us all in waiting for the next one.
This is arguably the best episode of season 2. While I wouldn't say top ten or anything, in terms of epic anime entrances, but Subaru and Beatrice’s dramatic entrance to the Sanctuary is up there. The moment the ending starts playing as Subaru and Beatrice burst out the mansion in a streak of light is just perfect. If you liked Beatrice up till now then you'll definitely love her relationship with Subaru going forward. Their whole dynamic is like siblings and it's the cutest thing.
For Roswaal, it's weird you didn't ask yourself HOW could he be 400 years old only now. I will not say it to you because it will be subtly mentionned after but I will remind some bits from the flashback and this episode. When Roswall the first, Roswaal A Mathers, lost against the Warlock/Devil of Melancholy, Hector, it crippled him for ever, his gate was lost and he was unable to do magic like how he used to. That's why it was a big loss for Echidna's side. Here, we see the crippled Roswaal A coming to Betty's library in search of knowledge as Betty said, and we saw Roswall talking about "replicating a soul", "needing a vessel". And then, we saw Roswaal B, with a different voice, fun fact, the voice actor is the son of Roswaal's voice actor that you like, he has basically the same behaviour as his father. And we saw rapidly multiple Roswall at Betty's library entrance up to the current one. The current one is Roswaal L Mathers, each generation initial are in alphabetical order, A, B up to L.
I’ve suspected getting emotional in both episodes u did, so no surprise here, just glad we are many. Also that scene and Beako Subaru dynamic was amazing.
36:30 You also need to watch isekai quartet if you want to see the characters living a 'normal life'. But this is an anime that brings together characters from at least 4 works, including Re:Zero and konosuba. Even if you don't react to RUclips videos.
Roswaal Mathers (Prime), plus Roswaal "A.-L." Mathers of Palpatine-style body handoffs via Soul Transfer for 400 years. (It will mess with your head) The Ryuzu pack is variable, and all of them are temporary, and replicated in numbers as needed, because they don't last. Only the 4 "core" Ruyzu's with names are enduring. Technically they (the mass clones) should be better bait for the Rabbits because they are MADE of mana. They were not fighting Garf before, Garf was fighting WITH them against Bonkers (Satella-mode) Emilia.
Roswaal is the same. He is passing his soul into other vessels. Remember the book he was reading? Also talking baout s2 timeframe. The entire season is only 4 or 5 days.
By this point in the story it should've been revealed that Geuse was Beatrice's manners teacher before he became an archbishop and the events of Emilia's backstory. They excluded it from the anime but showed it in the break time spinoff episodes that were released after each episode aired.
I like how you pick up small details like the voice changing in Ryuzu. Well, I'll just say that is the answer of one of questions of the last Re:Zero's reaction. The directors of Re:Zero don't like cliffhanger. They cut off the "Who is Rem?" scene from the original anime and they cut off the cliffhanger of this season too.
Anime op ed suggestions: Raven Of The Inner Palace Op "Mysterious" by Queen Bee(one of your fav artist) Ed "Natsu No Yuki" by Krage(the one who done solo leveling ed and it's far better than request)
Roswaal couldn't fight at full strength because he already exhausted a lot of mana to make it snow, and Puck has lost his anchor crystal (it broke with the contract with Emilia remember) which basically means he's limited by the mana in the atmosphere(he doesn't have mana coming from Emilia which is A LOT OF MANA like she became more powerful after her memories came back and the contract broke).
I love this episode. Based on all the clues, I believe the Tome of Wisdom copies show the future based on the holder’s desire. The fact that it eventually went blank for Beatrice one day suggests that she lost all desire for the future, which is so sad. Echidna told her to give the library to one worthy of inheriting it and Beatrice mistook that for “the one” and blindly shut out everybody for a sign that would never come. Subaru could have physically saved her by saying he was the one, but her mind would forever be bound by the thought that it was just a lie, limiting her. Instead, he fought to get her to choose to leave by her own will, but to do so he had to fight her 400 years of sunk cost- if she could have left at any time, what were the last 400 for? Why did she choose 400 years of loneliness? What was the meaning? Did she self-suffer over a mistake? After Echidna said she thought Beatrice’s misinterpretation was kind of neat, Subaru was not just going to save her partially, he was going to save her fully and completely. And we know he succeeded when she began crying his name over and over. Beatrice rarely refers to or calls anyone by name. I love this episode. :)
so its a bit longer i wont do a time stamp but funfact: emilia seeing ryuzu shima and the crystal disappear isnt a scene that happens in the novel (its already gone when she shows up) if i remeber correctly
For Roswal, I dont know if it is mentioned expicit, but I believe it is hinted on, he is changing bodies. He has Kids or something like artifical humans and the power to change bodies. That is why he is such a strong mage and that is why he lives so long. I'm convinced by that. Also Beako is not a Pet, she is a spirit. Puk is also a spirit. Puk is not a Pet, he is Family. The same goes for Beako.
If you do decide to rewatch re:zero from the start, I recommend watching the English dub. They really made sure to do the voice acting justice and it can be even more immersive for native english speakers.
Even this request was repeating over and over again you didn't see it and damn It was hard to guess this:) Beako finally joined the mc's gank, I wonder how many will call him boss or make jokes about him being called boss by Garf:))
And thus the loli-mancer proves his worth once more 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥 Also echidna was the one who's voice you heard while ryuzu shima was thinking to herself, yes echidna is now inside ryuzu. This isn't a spoiler it's actually a huge reveal which Luke happened to miss coz he didn't recognise the voice
You can react to Rezero side stories we would love to see that. The ( If ) stories show what if Subaru chose the wrong path? There is no anime for it but there is a web novel and an amazing RUclipsr by the name of Echidnut animated and explained those stories very well.
when you really think about it, all of these people who interacted closely with echidna 400 years ago live to regret it. everyone is a victim. roswaal is a victim of her poisonous words, so is beatrice, so is garfiel, so is ryuzu, and so is puck. i honestly think that when puck says "you wont ever be like that devil" he means it two ways maybe. i dont know if roswaal is actually trying to be like hector, but devil could also be referring to echidna, given that puck is not a fan of her at all. 8:38 i was so waiting for you to catch this, and you did! yes, that was the voice of echidna all of a sudden, coming out of the mouth of ryuzu shima. i wonder why? maybe after the season is over, you should react to a youtube video explaining how arc 4 REALLY ends, where that question will undoubtedly be answered 17:00 its not that one is more incomplete than the other, they both are. when echidna says that the books are incomplete, it means that it doesnt tell the exact past, present and future that the tome of wisdom usually gives. the tome of wisdom is much more OP than the books that roswaal and betty have. theirs gives a simpler guide to the future, and the ones that witch cultists use guides them to whatever the fuck, idk.
Btw this is not a spoiler just something they cut from the novel to anime, presumably not to leave it on a massive cliffhanger while season three would still take a few more years

Well she does call rosswal by his name
She did called Roswaal by his name a lot
@@lucynatas8458 Yeah, and Puck, technically
@@natsukisubaru07Because she already have some previous attachment to him, i suppose. Even puck she calls Bubby, i suppose.

Roswaal near the beginning was reading books on how to replicate a soul, so that's why the original Roswaal is still technically alive

That clicked in the next episode was he talks with Betty but wow 🤯🤯
When did she posses her?

yeh i kinda literally wrote when…
Knowing you’re a Betty enjoyer I knew this episode would be peak for you, this is the first time she called Subaru by his name they now have a formal contract. Also great detail of her sitting in front of the door even in season 1 you saw it but just now you realize she actually did and why she did it
-Audio is a bit weird from your mic feed this episode
-Good you noticed the voice being different, what I can say is that it was Echidnas but why that is would fall into spoiler territory since like Season 1 the actual ending of season 2 had been cutout as we’ll probably get it at the beginning of season 3
-Puck being alive or dead never has been a question as explained in the comments previous episodes ago he already existed before the contract with Emilia and breaking it or not having a crystal doesn’t mean his end. We just saw him this episode talking to Roswaal not too long ago
-The point is her wanting to die for a long time so she’s seeing this as opportunity to finally put an end to her existence she split that part of the dimension the forbidden library is in to kick Subaru out
i do wonder if we will get the proper ending of season 2 in season 3 since this time, its not immediately important and could be ignored until way later. I really hope they do though
@@ilikehatzz2899 I don't know. I doubt it, because it has yet to become really relevant in the story.. they did the typical nodge towards the source readers with the Echidna VA swap with Shima, to let us know that they did not forget about it but thats about it i think.

Still holding out hope that S3 will debut in the Fall '24 season.
Waited the entire season for that Beatrice x Subaru scene. It was so heartwarming to see how much she opened up to him. Credit to Subaru’s persistence. Betty was always my favorite side character.
same here...since their first contract in s1
She is an awesome character 🔥🔥
the part of the ending song when they flew & arrived with emilia was so emotional & epic.
It's pretty cute and creative.
also because he has a broken gate he can't get rid of/filter his mana so it would build and build till it killed him without Beatrice to drain it
This isn't a spoiler because it was cut out from the anime but:
In the Web Novel version of the scene, right before Subaru opens the last door to Beatrice, a mutated zombie version of Elsa (similar to Petelgeuse in the last episode of Season 1) appeared behind Subaru. Subaru entered the door to Beatrice before she could get him and she was engulfed in an explosion and burned down with the mansion.
(and cut out of the official light novel as well)
@@azureNotsuremakes sense. Better to only let archbishops have that
@@arnabbiswasalsodeep it’s less the archbishops but more of Petelgeuse really since he’s a spirit possessing a human body.
@@azureNotsureIt was not cut from the light novel, I only swapped to the web novel at arc 5 and I still remember that happening
And that's how Subaru unlocked Betty

Beako best girl as always. Fun fact, im pretty sure this chapter ("choose me") of the webnovel held up as the top fan favourite chapter for years. And it's easy to see why
8:39 I'm glad you noticed. It's echidna's voice. Make of that what you will. Kinda sad the anime didn't have time for the epilogue of the light novel volume.
26:49 I love how the first time he grabbed that door, his fingers froze there. And the second time he did that, his fingers burned.
If they have another directors cut for s2, they'll probably show omega. Just like s1 had a happy ending then directors cut had "who is Rem"

I hate waiting a week for episodes, but I would advise doing so this time.
Who knows when s4 will come out, as the source material gets drastically harder to adapt into anime-form after s3.
Sometimes those comment sections and talking about it with people in the loop can make memories.
Betty is finally free!🎉
Knew you'd love "Choose Me", easily one of the best moments of the series.
Subaru doesn't want Beako to be selected and be under him or anyone else. want's her to gain FREEWILL
@@SilverYPheonix *spoiler *
we don't know how much older echidna in grave & in next ep was mellow and different than the younger one in castle of dreams, but they had certainly been quite different from even emila not recognising the face much.
"You can step back and leave the rest to me now." Remember those words for next season..😊
20:10 echidna created multiple spirits (this is why beatrice refers to her as "mother") puck was created before beatrice so hes the older brother (though spirits have no blood so no blood relation)
Since rezero s2 about to end
React following videos
1) rezero s3 teaser and posters
2) rezero break time episodes
3) rezero if story summaries

4) how rezero s2 actually ends
I will elaborate on Roswaal if it's not clear by next episode.
oh, and in the web novel version, satella creates a shadow shield to filter the air and stops the heat around subaru so he could search for beatrice in the middle of the fire with zero problems. she also make sure subaru doesn tsee the shield. seems like she was very happy with what he said earlier.
17:00 the book itself was not incomplete its that the book is a imperfect copy of echidnas power (which implies she knows the future to some degree but disregarding that) rosawaals book still had written pages (which adapted to the current present for his instructions of what to do later)
semi explanation idk if i can do it without spoilers:
beatrices copy of the tome stopped saying anything becuase she doesnt have a goal in life like rosawaal did (this is like a half baked outline of how they work) so there are no steps to take in the future to achieve that goal since it doesnt exist (remeber rosawaal says the book will lead him to his dearest wish) the gospels of the witches cult are defective copies of the same tome of wisdom and betelguese was always checking his to see what to do next or who he would meet so it makes sense if the tome is just a life guide to achieving ones desires (we will ignore the part where betelguese was only seen using it AFTER he went insane)
The first Roswaal was looking for method to replicate soul (he literally said it). He just copy and paste his soul to a new body before he died.
Btw roswaal J mathers, the grandmother of the currect roswaal was female, so he's been upto some stuff 😂😂
dude, thats spoilers for next episode
He is indeed Roswaal L Mathers, because he takes L after L (not a spoiler I'm anime-only)
I really love the contrast of Subaru's selfish "pick me" in episode 18 to this. The character growth is insane
Damn this episode is so darn emotional. Just can't hold back the happy tears
Right before the music kicks in i was holding back but then when the music starts and they fly together ... tears of joy

also it's the same roswaal because in beako memories he was reading about how to copy the soul and make a vessel like betelgeuse, so even if he present himself descendant of... to beako and others it's just him after transfered his soul to a new vessel
In the ryuzu's clones cene, one of them is enchida that posses her body now, and call herself like "omega"
Betty and Roswaal's book only tells them their future and instructions to cause it, but that's all, Echidna's book knows tue future of everybody in all ages.
oh and she did not told her to stay alone nor to not exit from the library. just to guard it. she did all that by herself.
He transported his memories into his children and ,,killed them" and became his children to stay alive
(It will mess with your head)
The Ryuzu pack is variable, and all of them are temporary, and replicated in numbers as needed, because they don't last.
My personal favourite episode of Re Zero ever, actually trumped out the infamous ep 18 of season 1 for me
"Why did her voice sound different there?" Oh, I don't know - we might find out in Arc 8 or something (which will be like Season 4).
I'm glad to see people having the same reaction I got when I first saw this. The moment is just so good.
bro sacred the shit out of me with that intro

This scene after "that" in arc 6 hits so hard.
Waited since chapter 1 for this moment, chapter 24 is my favorite out of any anime I have watched
Godly episode man, Chadbaru at its finest 🔥
Good thing that you caught the voice change in Ryuzu Shima
so its a bit longer i wont do a time stamp but funfact: emilia seeing ryuzu shima and the crystal disappear isnt a scene that happens in the novel (its already gone when she shows up) if i remeber correctly
The same goes for Beako.
it's hilarious that this is the second time you've stated you want to move to that village only to change your mind
That scene with Betty makes me cry every time.
Why Subaru can find Betty at will ???
Because they both share the same magic element (shadow)
just like emilia has her spirit puck, subaru now has his, beatrice
And thus the loli-mancer proves his worth once more 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
Also echidna was the one who's voice you heard while ryuzu shima was thinking to herself, yes echidna is now inside ryuzu.
30:31 Spend these days with Rem, you damn Dumbaru!!!!!!
32:57 that slap always gets me xDD
25:10 beatrice ejected him using magic (not the door magic she usually does a stronger one that rips space) its one of hte stronger spells she has
when you really think about it, all of these people who interacted closely with echidna 400 years ago live to regret it. everyone is a victim. roswaal is a victim of her poisonous words, so is beatrice, so is garfiel, so is ryuzu, and so is puck. i honestly think that when puck says "you wont ever be like that devil" he means it two ways maybe. i dont know if roswaal is actually trying to be like hector, but devil could also be referring to echidna, given that puck is not a fan of her at all.
8:38 i was so waiting for you to catch this, and you did! yes, that was the voice of echidna all of a sudden, coming out of the mouth of ryuzu shima. i wonder why? maybe after the season is over, you should react to a youtube video explaining how arc 4 REALLY ends, where that question will undoubtedly be answered
17:00 its not that one is more incomplete than the other, they both are. when echidna says that the books are incomplete, it means that it doesnt tell the exact past, present and future that the tome of wisdom usually gives. the tome of wisdom is much more OP than the books that roswaal and betty have. theirs gives a simpler guide to the future, and the ones that witch cultists use guides them to whatever the fuck, idk.
8:31 Because that was ECHIDNA's voice
Or OMEGA, as she is now known
Btw this is not a spoiler just something they cut from the novel to anime, presumably not to leave it on a massive cliffhanger while season three would still take a few more years
A blank book that represents your future, I tought anyone would get it's bc you can write your own future none less beako that is a artificial spirit.
21:30 🚫👻"when some asks if your s god you say YES!"
25:20 Betty might well be one of the most frustrating tsunderes in all of anime. So stubborn xD
