It's difficult to decide which videos are my favourites. Either the snow filled episodes which are great fun. Or the Sara and Denali episodes. Sara's humour is an excellent addition and Denali, well having a dog present is always a great idea. Especially with coyotes around. Not having large predators in the UK makes me feel that your safer having Denali around. Either way you're always a great watch. Thank you.
I always enjoy watching a Sintax production, but it’s phenomenally satisfying to watch the family unit laugh, meander, suffer and eat together. It’s been a LONG time since we had a Sara and Denali trip, so bravo!!
DO NOT FEED THE BEARS!!! LOL! Last night I watched a video about that Goofball who thought he was going to make friends and live with the grizzly bears only to get himself and his girlfriend eaten by them. On a lighter note, Denali is a super cute dog. Sara is hilarious! 🤣 Nice trip. 👍🏻
Recently found you and new Sub. Caught you on Kyle Hates Hiking. Great video, just love how you can get out with Sarah for a few days. Really enjoyed the vid even though I'm a year behind on this one but I'm loving the channel. Just love the genuine way you are and the way you bounce off each other. Obviously a great relationship. Looking forward to watching years of back Hikes.
"Oh, you have thoughts too!" Sarah you are so funny! Its so good to see you discuss the gear and watch your husband cook at the same time! Having fun together with your dog child made me smile all night. Funny because my husband and I were just saying what tents are we going to bring for this weekend's overnight...car...xmid trekking pole and then we looked at each other and said Walmart...a few seconds later you pulled out a Walmart tent. Every good hiker must have at least one Walmart tent hidden somewhere. Anyway, great husband for letting her sleep and make sure that the night went well! Thanks for letting us share!
Sintax and Sara and the wonder pup on Dolly Sods. Makes my day. Your banter with your wife is so funny. I love the chips and makes me remember when she broke them out and everyone was so happy! I was even happy and I want there.
Great video Stntax! It was just what I needed. I've seen many of your other dolly sods videos and I still really enjoyed this one. You and Sara are the best. I was down at Dolly Sods this fall too. Definately more people than before. Im glad to see you going with the extra heavy pack. That's my style. Looked like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing.
Your Dolly Sods video from 2013 got me into backpacking. I recently (this week) re-watched that video and your Dolly Sods solo trip from last July along with about 5 of your other videos. I'd say it's pretty serendipitous that you just uploaded this trip to add to my Sintax77 binge! Thanks for putting these videos together man. I really appreciate them!
Really enjoying this video! So refreshing to see someone camping with not ultralight, expensive kit and more importantly, not hiking for hours and hours on end. You chilled out, took your time and enjoyed yourself! Got a knee injury just now but can’t wait to get back out!
Love your travel videos to these areas. Seen another group on Adventure Archives backpacking here too. It looks like an amazing place. Wish I was healthy enough to do that. Keep the videos coming, love them all. Good luck on your next trip.
Love it when you camp with Sara and Denali, they add so much comic relief.... It's great. Also, been missing camping adventures with Trailkilla! Any future plans??
I have a deaf Dalmatian the loves to wander in the woods. She always has bells on when we camp. Last trip she wandered out of hearing of the bells. I'm thinking a large cow bell for next trip. Maybe the lighter bells for in camp in the evening. Don't care if I annoy anyone, have to keep my pup safe and she needs some romp time because I work 3 jobs. Happy camping!
Another Pennsylvanian, and from the best part of PA no less. I have been wanting to get down to dolly sods, actually I wanted to go in a few weeks, but if I leave the state I have to take two extra weeks off of work, and I can't afford to miss that much work. So I'm going north to Tioga for the west rim trail. ATB brother, happy trails
About having to quarantine for two weeks ....buy all your stuff in Pennsylvania drive directly to Dolly sods have no contact with anybody because chances are you won’t unless you want to and enjoy your trip go back home you actually only walked a little bit around in another state and around no people and if you like to fish it’s not to bad either
Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this family video. It's good to see you, Sara and Denali once again. The very best of good health and safety to all of you. 🤗
nice area, I put a bear bell on my pooch as well. cant wait myself to get back to camping and hiking , to snowy here in ontario for me to be comfortable thanks folks for taking us along on the adventure.
Spent this weekend at Dolly Sods with my daughter in perfect weather. In return for the saved experiences you've given us with shared experiences in forgetting tree straps, hiking boots, etc, I want to return the favor. If you hang your Benchmade (or any other) knife from your ridgeline, don't forget to grab it first before packing your hammock :).
Sarah definitely adds more character to your video. Strongly recommend she be a regular to future videos. Love her laughter a comical comments and expressions.
Is anyone keeping track of how many times Sarah snorts? 🤣. Great video, great she gets out and enjoys a trip with you. Also got to add you take good care of here.
I want to thank you for your videos, especially backpacking trips to Dolly Sods. I first visited Dolly Sods in 1971, and first backpacked the Sods in 1979. I have camped at many of the same sites you have shown in your videos. I had a friend with a camp at Laneville near the Red Creek Trail Head and another friend with a camp around Mt Storm. I still visit the Sods at least once a year, but a bad knee keeps me from backpacking. So, through your videos I have been able to see sites I thought I would never see again. Have you ever hiked The Otter Creek Wilderness in the same general area? Keep the videos coming!
Always great to see the vibrant fall colors back East to contrast our bland CA fall colors, but the most fun was seeing your "family" hike together. I forget which of your previous videos said to never go cheap on the sleeping pads, but you should watch that one again. Thanks Shawn.
That first site you saw in the trees is one of my favorite camps in the whole sods area. Surprisingly most people miss it completely even though its so close to fr 75
What a shame you had to deal with a faulty valve. Chivalry isn’t dead. This was a fun video. Loved seeing Denali included too. Thanks for sharing this one. Stay safe and see you again on the next one. ATB
My daughter and I stayed at the same (night #1) site on 9/17. Same deal, got in late and we packed in just enough water to get through the next morning. Definitely a hearth, some people put a lot of work into that and the rock chairs.! I know it is dry up there, so didn't expect to see many others camping, but we did not see or hear a soul all night. The only company we had were 2 deer that hung around and one of the jackrabbits that have Donnie Darko eyes when you hit them with a flashlight. Will say we heard the coyotes ALL NIGHT.
Your wife’s pack from ULA is a prime example why manufacturers need to make the water pockets taller and still find a way to make them accessible while wearing the pack. Good video though and mad props for being able to carry all the gear - just to carry it. Best part is 26:28 to 26:40.
I've used that same model of Ozark Trail tent for years and it's never let me down. I know it's trendy to hate on them, but if you know what to expect when you buy it, seam seal and water proof it, it gets the job done. With that said, I wouldn't trust it for anything more than a day's hike from the car though.
I've done Dolly Sods a few times and its awesome. I have friends that live in Elkins and gave me the whole history about Dolly Sods. Did you know the wilderness is so vast that military would test bombs in that area? The blue berries are so yummy!
Nice backpacking trip with Sara and Denali.😀 That pack had to be the heaviest since your first Whites trip years ago. I'll have to give the Peak breakfast skillet a try. It sure does look better than the Mountain House skillet!
If your looking for a good pad that won't break the bank, the Trekology UL80 inflatable sleeping pad is 4 inches thick! It looks really tempting. We have some of there older pads and they work well! In fact we just had to replace our regular mattress at home. I was so uncomfortable that I spent a week on the floor with my trekology pad and 90% of my pain went away! I didn't have to re-inflate that matt at all and my kiddo kept jumping all over it too. When I was looking for a matt I was very tempted to get a Big Agnes but quite a few reviews noted leaks. Hiking with Braids had one on the At for a while brand new and it leaked on her too! Just a thought. Glad you both got out to enjoy the fall colors!
So ya couldn't fit a couple of backpacking chairs in your pack?? C'mon!! 😆 Hey! Enjoy the time and effort you take in making your videos and where you take your destinations. Very cool that your Wife and dog get out with you as well. She brings the comedy and class ... with her choice of wines. Stay safe out there. Aloha from Hawaii ~ 🏄🌴☀️🌈

Sara snorts when she laughs. So funny
@Craig G I’m sure many of us feel the same about Sara. Shawn is a lucky man.
Love Sarah’s facial expressions when you express indecision. Awesome!

More more please
I do so enjoy your adventures -- including your wife is always an excellent addition -- you are so lucky to have a wonderful partner!!!
I never realized how big the Ohm's side pockets are. Oh my goodness that is glorious.
My gosh, that Denali is one handsome fellow!
Nice to see everyone again, Sintax, thanks for another adventure...

Thanks, Ledge. Glad you're enjoying them :)
Laughed a lot at this one thanks guys
There was cracking me up while you were cooking dinner by the fire, good fire by the way
Great video. Dolly Sods is on my must do list. Thank you for a fun video.
I'm from not far from there in WV. I have spent so much time on that Plateau. That is really one of my favorite places ever!
The Sara version of the transition scene sound had me chuckling. You should implement that more often😅
I'm shopping for a backpack and I think I need what Sara has because anything that holds a full bag of Tostitos is definitely amazing!
That outside back pocket on her ULA Ohm pack is like a bottomless pit, haha.
