For anyone getting the Wyze V2 cameras, I bought these after watching this vid & mine arrived yesterday... there’s a glitch that won’t show your timelapse in your album after stopping them. After googling & reading a tonne of threads it seems heaps of ppl have the same issue BUTTTT I worked it out, it’s a quick fix, just take a random photo on the Wyze cam and then look in your album and your timelapse will be there now in videos as well as that random pic in photos. 💜✨

    Great video Hoocho.
I recently made a time lapse camera setup that suited my budget, meaning Free.
Using an old Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) installed a free time-lapse app.
I had the phone plugged in to a charger on the wall and the phone was on a tripod.
The phone's flash was handy for when the grow light was off, so the images were all in color. (no IR, BW images)
The phone goes in to sleep mode and only wakes up when the app is about to take a pic and it only connects to Wifi at that same time then shuts off again.
Every time it took a snapshot, it sent it via Wifi to my Google Documents folder, this was sync'd on my PC folder. This means my PC doesn't have to be on and I don't have to use a memory card or disconnect/disturb the camera from it's position.
It didn't construct a video but instead made snapshots which I then ran a dos command to assemble a video from them using FFmpeg (free small video tool)
I don't believe this is any more difficult than someone having to learn how to paste two videos together.

2:27 not true. With the proper power supply you can power the go-pro (I have the 11) directly with out the battery. If the go-pro complains that the power supply is not adequate but actually is, you can trick the camera by powering it on with the battery and after it booted up (and having the USB cable plugged in) you can remove the battery. I left the camera on for 6 months with this method.

@@phillip2304 the quality difference isn’t much in the end product, you’d save a lot by going to the V2
But if you need the waterproofing or don’t mind paying the v3 is a better package

@@Hoocho thank you for reply 🙌🏻. That is the weird part actually, v2 is $42 on amazon but v3 is $35. I thought v2 might be better because it is made for indoor but v3 made for indoor/outdoor. If it doesn’t make difference than it’s better to go with v3 I guess.

2:25 why not just charge the battery on a timer. Like 1 hour each day.

Great video, except the music at the end. It was giving me goddam arrhythmia.

Thank you. I have bought the Wyze cam v3 as v2 wasn't available. But when I keep it near my plants under grow light, I see black lines moving up how do I prevent it?
