For anyone getting the Wyze V2 cameras, I bought these after watching this vid & mine arrived yesterday... there’s a glitch that won’t show your timelapse in your album after stopping them. After googling & reading a tonne of threads it seems heaps of ppl have the same issue BUTTTT I worked it out, it’s a quick fix, just take a random photo on the Wyze cam and then look in your album and your timelapse will be there now in videos as well as that random pic in photos. 💜✨
Thank you so much for sharing that bit of info! I'm gonna try this camera out so it' good to know how to deal with the issue if I come across it. Yaye, sharing is caring...lol
I did a 3 day 5 minute timelapse, then stopped it, told it to 'stop and save' and there's nothing in the album. It does say it has 20 GB on the SD card, but no SD reader and taking out the SD card sucks. Tried a 3 second time lapse as a test and those do save and I can copy to phone, to PC. Bit annoying. I had to fix the focus of the v3 version with a reading glasses. And there's interference horizontal waves of differing brightness, maybe because of the grow light being really bright.
The horizontal brightness lines on some grow light videos recorded by the Wyze can are because the LEDs are mostly not always on. It may be they are 100% on at the highest brightness. If they are dimmable, they flicker. If your board opted to be higher efficiency, they may not run 100% even at 100% brightness. The image by Wyze cam is constructed horizontally, pixel by pixel. And it captures images at a certain rate. If there is a certain relationship by the frame capture rate of Wzye and the flickering of your LEDs, you can have some pixels that are darker because the LEDs at that point are not powered and less bright. Wyze does not allow you to adjust capture rate or shutter speed. Seems the only way to fix that is to adjust the LED brightness so they go out of sync.
No flipping way!!!! I bought my wyze cams in 2020. I've wanted to tape my plants growing for so long. I cannot believe I didn't realize this until I found your video! Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to start. Yayyyyyyyy 🎉🎉🎉
Great video Hoocho. I recently made a time lapse camera setup that suited my budget, meaning Free. Using an old Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) installed a free time-lapse app. I had the phone plugged in to a charger on the wall and the phone was on a tripod. The phone's flash was handy for when the grow light was off, so the images were all in color. (no IR, BW images) The phone goes in to sleep mode and only wakes up when the app is about to take a pic and it only connects to Wifi at that same time then shuts off again. Every time it took a snapshot, it sent it via Wifi to my Google Documents folder, this was sync'd on my PC folder. This means my PC doesn't have to be on and I don't have to use a memory card or disconnect/disturb the camera from it's position. It didn't construct a video but instead made snapshots which I then ran a dos command to assemble a video from them using FFmpeg (free small video tool) I don't believe this is any more difficult than someone having to learn how to paste two videos together.
I finally started a RUclips backyard gardening channel one year ago. Hopefully I can start recording time lapse grow videos. Love from California brother.
