Here's how I learn: One section at a time... 1. Learn left hand first 2. Then right hand 3. Slowly combine 4. Add speed when comfortable 5. Move on to next section
Wasn’t this the first piece Joplin wrote after his wife’s death? I can hear melancholy somehow. Probably why this is my favorite work from him besides the magnetic rag.
I can't put my finger on it, but there's something missing in this rag waltz. It's almost too sweet and bland at the same time, does not make me fall in love with it. I fell in love with "Solace" straightaway, then learned to play it, and love it to this day. "Bethena" does have nice 2 first themes but the rest is just more rag harmonies without going anywhere. It does not tell a story like "Solace" does.
ベセーナまじ名曲だわ、
意外と難しいから挫折してなかなかやろうとする者が出ないんだろうな、自分は気合いで覚えたわ。
.75 speed is more appropriate but other than that it’s perfect
