Sawyer is retiring made me cry he is blind and has some one to give him love this man is awsome I seen horable treated dods in sled racing after watching this and only hav most respect of how he races today him and love of his dog
I watched this documentary after reading Jonathon’s book “The Togo 261”. I fell in love with dogs in the book, so it was heart warming to see them live in action. I’m so inspired by this story and now I dream of being a musher!
As someone with a Siberian Husky, this film has brought a whole new light and respect for dogs, huskies alike. Incredible…just Incredible…thank you for sharing this film, with us and the world.
Thank you for posting this. There is no connection like a Seppala connection that will always remain in my heart. Thank you for making this Great film.
Love this story. I was a recreational musher for twenty years. Ran purebred Siberian teams of four to six dogs in southern New England - CT, MA, RI, and one trip to Tug Hill Plateau in NY. What you do is another world entirely. Your dogs are beautiful. I have a Border Collie mix now but there is nothing like a husky. My last husky passed in June 2022 and the house simply is not the same without one.
Thank you for the great movie. I've had a border collie shepherd Jezebel and now a red Dobie Lucy. Working dogs are the best friends. Cheers mate and happy trails
Mid Sept here in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies and waiting for weather to cool enough for some dryland training! My sled is all repaired after an accident on the 1st day of Spring 2023, due to trails chewed up by ATVs, a new coat of varnish and new runners...BRING on the SNOW😁👍👍 Thanks for the inspiration! Story of Sawyer brought a few tears to my eyes, I had a dog, Dash, who lost his eyesight to glaucoma in 2017. You could not slow him down, even blind he was the best puller on my team for another 2 years, until he took a fall, due to his blindness, which started arthritis problems. I had to say goodbye to him in August of 2022, at the age of 16 years, 2 months. His heart and his "never quit" attitude were still strong, however his body could no longer keep up. I know he is back pulling on the team North of the Rainbow Bridge and loving his new afterlife💖💖
It was an amazing adventure way to good to pass up!! Excites you enjoyed it thanks for taking the time to watch!!! We will see what the next adventure brings!
just an amazing and inspiring and beautifully done film..tears came to my eyes many times not just at the end..the relationship of man and dog came out so strongly..I love the north Maine woods..what a story ..thank you for raising awareness..
For ice balls on dogs' feet, there is nothing better than Musher's Secret. You can get it on Amazon. It doesn't keep their feet warmer but it keeps the ice from forming between their pads. The Iditerod dogs use it. It's all natural so it doesn't matter if they lick it off later. It won't stain carpets or floors either. It's amazing stuff! You HAVE to get some, especially if you're a musher. And btw, I LOVE this film! Great job!!
Our Siberian loves to run, when my girl Aleutia runs across the dog park everyone is amazed...its a beautiful thing.. What a Beautiful film you have made and it is so inspiring to see you honor the sled dogs of Alaska
There are "no words".......................simply fantastic. A love for a "dog"s is a love for a "god". What an honor to be amidst them all and in pursuit of nature! Greetings from Washington.
I don’t know how I found this but wow, great job! This deserves millions of likes and views no doubt. And the ending with sawyer made me tear up lol, such an amazing story and journey. Thank you and great work!
This was truly inspirational! Disneys Togo movie is my absolute favourite film and this was an incredible tribute to Togo and the sled teams. I absolutely love dogsledding and I love the dogs even more. These things really help me to work towards my mushing dreams! Thank you for the amazing film!
Great film! I've been waiting for this to come out, and I loved watching Jon's relationship with the dogs. Tears came to my eyes at the end with the finish line and Sawyers full-circle retirement. Beautifully done!
It was a pleasure to find this documentary, an unforgettable time in history. To think he has the opportunity to care for this rare, historical bloodline, what an honor! The film was put together beautifully! Thank you
Beautiful film Jeremy! Loved how Jon had a smile on his face in almost every shot. Watching from here in midcoast, this is just what I needed to get through the last stretch of another long Maine winter. Great reminder of the magic and history of this place and its people, past and present. Been enjoying your videos, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Jeff. He is an amazing dude I loved how he can bonus back from knee deep slush for miles to belly laughing by the fire! Thanks for following along more fun to come
Thank you so much for this. this is what i want to do when i retire. ( 25 this year lol) keep on mushing and dont stop :) goodluck on your future endeavours
I’ve always admired sled dogs and mushers, have always been fascinated with it, would love to try it. No tour guides or mushers in Kentucky though lol.
Great video. Your perseverance through those harsh elements is amazing. I loved your narration also. I’m so fortunate to have found your great channel. Best of luck to you!
A true great repeat of history of this epic challenge and life saving journey in its day. Congratulations to John and his team, Jeremy and John great filming to boot. John may your life be full of visions of a good team in front of you. Cheers
im about to embark on training a pup to sled pull in winter and cart (not bicycle style, but actual cart edwardian victorian style) pull in the other season. . my goal is first short pull in 2 years, but spend the first two years training and learning the trails. wish me luck.
great question- the mixed breed racing huskies (or Alaskan huskies as they are called) are much faster than our dogs- but have weaker feet. Our dogs have very tough feet that do not require booties PROVIDED that we keep the hair trimmed enough between the toes. I had trimmed them but should have trimmed them again closer to the trip.
@@theARChurch Yeah I have a lot of experience with Alaskans. I run dogs in Norway. Never really kept or ran sibs. Thanks for the reply my friend. Happy trails
Amazingly epic! Thank you for sharing. That was incredible to watch. Such incredible animals. Though, annoying the reporter at the end turned an amazing journey political. Ridiculous to compare Covid to dypyheria. For heaven sakes let’s just watch a good documentary without crap being thrown at you.
Poor sawyer being blind triping all over must of made it hard on him your true love of dogs letting him run with your team I like seeing the way he runs the Iditarod is awsome but you need 100s of dogs and take the best with 2 spare in the sled it's too serious for fun hope their OK from eating that moose meat seems like mose meat didn't agree with them Diarra isent good either at the end of race the they where pulling at their own speed and need 3 day rest before race like this you really need to get them use to hard run every day let them build go strong muscles like he even sead if you could give them rest let the muscels heal they would be 2 time better
This breed is a true artic spits breed dog where they don't need booties but the hair should have been tried. After they where trimmed they had no more feet issues amazing dogs
They don't automatically need booties if their feet are properly hardened. Their pads can get as hard as concrete! Dogs are naturally the ultimate endurance runners in cold climates; just like horses, their feet are designed to carry them vast distances.
This isn't a "video," this is a movie, this is cinematic. The character shots, the intimate dronescapes, the pacing, the story - this is a great work!
Thank you so much brother the trip was a blast and the edit was a wild learned so much even more hooked then before

“Our blood, our muscle, our bone tied together with strands and wood and love ….So strong they defy all reason “. AWESOME commentary .
Thanks :)

My first time owning a Husky, Siberian. I love her more everyday, she is just so dramatic and I gladly live my life around her to make her happy
A wonderful story! Thank you!
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this!
Three words....Brave and Pure...
The Siberians are absolutely gorgeous and live to run, run, and run. Amazingly they're also herding dogs that can organize 50 horses with no problem.
They are amazing

The connection of man and wild are thru his buddies. The ultimate survivor. K9

Looking at the one small trail with lots of small branches sticking out, I was wondering if the blind dogs eyes were protected?
He was always very closely watch to keep him safe he leans in towards the line when trails and tight too
