When all 4 players are up at the non volley zone line, the typical pattern is that there will be a dink exchange while all players are waiting for that ball that comes just a little too high, and is attackable.
A great way to mix things up, if this has been going on for several points in a row, is to throw in a lob-even a lob from a volley, one that is not so high that it can be easily attacked but just high enough to get your paddle under it well and lift it over your opponents heads putting them on the run and on the defensive.

Thank you for this video. Even though I just started playing a month ago the lob has become 1 of my go 2 shots. I see how effective it is when the ball placement is just right.

My question is, how to be on defense of the lobs? I don't run as fast as the ball flies...

If you find you're getting beaten by lobs frequently then you're best bet is to hang back off the NVZ line some so they have less area to hit to and you have less distance to cover and a better chance of getting it out of the air. If you want to hold the line then you have to work on your footwork and speed.

I very much appreciate this video. There just isn't enough quality instruction out there to help us to win against pregnant opponents.

Thanks. I really need to incorporate these lobs into my game. I NEVER think of it. Maybe doing this drill will get my mind where it needs to be.
