How tf is China any different? Do you honestly believe a foreigner can retire in China? Doing visa runs in their 60s and 70's? Unless your spouse is Chinese you are SOL there are literally so many better choices than China like Malaysia, Thailand and whatnot. Also the anti foreigner sentiment is visible for anyone who's been in China for an extended period of time, they also don't like people like yourself but won't say it to your face. I know you have a wechat channel, go find channels by any interracial couple and read the comments, it ranges from the N word to gorilla emojis and whatnot. Stop shilling bro, they like white shills more.

If poor financial planning mate. I have been going to The Philippines 🇵🇭 it's paradise islands since 2008. Yes, it's a poor country but the people are friendly. Thailand has healthier food, and medical services are much better. There are good pharmacy in the malls.

Sheku, you are so right about the Philippines. People are generally friendly but the saddest thing is the people are really proud of being Americanized. They think they are a step above everyone in S.E. Asia. They don't realized they're being fully taken advantage of by their colonizers, from back when to the present day.
That homeless westerner is a true eye opener for me. What?!! How can that be? That is so sad.

No Filipino thinks that! 🤣 Do you know how many wars we had to keep out colonizers? Filipinos welcome all foreigners, not just the white ones! It's a double edge sword unfortunately. Yes there are Filipinos who like to be Americanize, Canadianized, __(rich country)___ -ized, ect., but those Filipinos are working abroad and desired that for themselves! Please stop making generalizations.

    The best retirement plan is:
    [1] work hard
    [2] save plenty
    [3] resist credit
    [4] pay off your mortgage
[5] religiously build up a retirement savings plan
[6] work for a place that has a secure pension plan (civil, union, etc)
[7] *retire in your own country*

I've spent some time in expat bubbles in the Philippines and Thailand and the truth is most people go broke there. Common reasons are social security / government pension doesn't keep up with exponentially rising costs of health insurance and health care as you age and local women taking their money in various ways. Rent is also going up and the exchange rate can work against you. It doesn't help if you're alcoholic. It's a process though, it happens to most as they age in their 70s and 80s so you don't really hear about this RUclips. Most guys on RUclips hyping up these places are fresh off the boat or didn't even move yet. Definitely not 80 😂

Malaysia has disputed islands with china, we reached an agreement to put things aside, while we shared resources. We stuck with out side of the bargain and so have the Chinese. No warships, no ramming, water cannons. Nothing.
Maybe the Philippines can try our strategy a bit instead of listening to the US.

I was in Philippines a couple of months back and I agree with you with most of what you said. The problem with Filipinos is the obsession of 'celebrities'. They elected those who looks 'cool' who speak cool and know how to please the people not because they were good in running the country. That is why they keep electing corrupted people to run the country. Just like Bong Bong, his family held billions of dollars of ill-gotten money from the people during his father's day, but Filipinos had forgotten about it. If Bong Bong is seriously concerned about his people, he should first return those money to the country! Those who supported Bong Bong will tell you that you know nothing, and you have no right to criticized him! Fair, it is not my problem, it is not me suffering.
The poverty of Philippines did stunned me a couple of months ago and it is sad to see that it was the people themselves who had to take the blame.

  • @kremigmitsahne7197

The People in the Philippines need to realize why they're in this situation and who their actual enemy is. The Philippines' government and media love to blame China for everything negative that happens in the world and in their country, and they love to portray the USA and other imperialist countries (e.g. Japan) as their noble helping friends. But the reality is that China contributes massively to the economy of the Philippines and always seeking to help 3rd world countries building themselves up. China builds necessary infrastructure and hospitals in poor countries and often even forgives a lot of debt. The West on the other hand is forcing their own interest up on the Phillipines and using their country as a US military base, as a place for western sexpats, and for cheap resources that the Philippine government is willing to give almost for free to imperialist countries. The Philippines blames China and worships the West, to distract from reality and mislead their citizens.
The people of the Philippines need to realize this before it's to late for them. They need to stand up for themselves and free themselves from US imperialism, occupation and from their corrupt government. China doesn't have a single base in the Philippines and contributes imaginably much to their economy. Don't blame China for what your own government is doing to. Resist the lies, manipulated imagery, and twisted narratives your media is feeding you every minute of the day. That's the first step towards a better future. It all lies in the hand's of the people in the Philippines.

But more than once it gets suspicious, Philippines doesn’t even have a lot of foreign retirees in the first place, so doing these type of content that specifically targets a certain country is suspicious because we factually know some of these foreign china vloggers are being sponsored by their own government/CCP, so to make these type of videos right during PH-CH SCS disputes really makes you wonder if it was just mere coincidence or there’s an agenda here.

    @ryanspinoza6586 2 месяца назад +4

So you went to a rural or poor area in Philippines and stayed in a modernised city in China, got it.
The problems you listed in Philippines is very common among poor and developing countries, especially in rural areas but not as much if you’re in urbanised cities. Also, the reason foreigners retire in Philippines is because of the people itself (very common answer among foreigners) and the fact that they are multi-lingual. When China was poor, it had the exact same issues you listed for Philippines, why? because they’re rooted down to economic problems and corruption. So these kind of comparison is like trying to compare a poor/developing city in China to Japan’s Tokyo or Osaka.
