I don't think his finger snapping is your fault. it probably had a small crack when it was shaken about in shipping. personally I'd try to contact the company and ask them to send out a replacement hand. I don't know how ringdoll is for customer service but if you show them a picture of how shaken up the box was and a picture of it in the box with the broken finger hopefully they will send it out for free. but also as someone who is friends with archivists, gloves make you much more likely to damage fragile items. you don't have the same sense of touch when you wear gloves so you end up gripping and squeezing things a bit too tightly. but if you just have clean and dry hands then you'll be much more careful and
if i were me, I would utilise that missing finger in his character building and make it a part of his backstory :) (unless you want to fix it, that's your choice ofc
