Honestly, I'd LOVE to see a 3D remake of FF6:D I'm picturing the FFXIII battle style of Sabin and Cyan fighting the Phantom Train as I'm listening to this awesome sauce XD
Since (allegedly) Tifa got into Dissidia by being the rare traditional martial artist of the series (and maybe best girl), how about reserving the next spot for the heir of Figaro with this one!
@@pickling2787 I agree that it gets nowhere near as much love as it deserves but there isn’t really a problem with people preferring 7. 6 is an incredible game (so far) though.
Sadly, Japanise are so disgustingly proud that they can even use decompressed music that sounds bad to avoid using previous works or something better made by 3rd parties
Same, this is the song that got me into metal when I was 10 year old, now I cover FF songs on my electric guitars hahaha the whole loop has been done (O don’t post them so don’t ask lol)
The band who remixed this song (and other songs from FINAL FANTASY) also did the remix version of some MEGAMAN songs, they sound similar but from totally different games and OSTs.
Terra's Theme(Overworld), Locke's Theme, Shadow's Theme, Wild West, Searching for Friends, Forever Rachel, Devil's Lab, Slam Shuffle, Phantom Train, Aria De Mezzo Carattere, and let's not forget Dancing Mad. These are to name but a few, I could go on. FF6's OST serves FF7's on a sliver platter, no contest. Licking FF7's ass ain't gonna change that.
More broadly and abstractly, the main difference I find is that of my own imagination. Back in the day, DQ and FF series were played in my head as much as on the TV. I was painting my own impression of the world based on the cell-based low res graphics. With modern games I'm being given the creator's imagination on a silver platter. That's nice too, but no room for my own. They're just different, and fun in different ways for me. Some things can never be recreated by modern media heavy games.
Games like this were played for enjoyment of the storyline, for the endings, and because you enjoyed playing the game itself. Not the current generation of achievement score hunters.
I rated this 10/10. Now I am playing FF7... 10/10 So FF7 fans... don't judge FF6 if you haven't played it yet I treat them both equal but FF7 had the shocking moments that changed my life. at least FF6 had Perfect Music, Sad character scenarios, and epic story.. They both have the best Villains
On a slightly different note, I burned out of Morrowind at around 150 hours I believe, a bit less for Oblivion, far less for Skyrim due to the persistent burn out. I clocked up almost 350 hours on Dragon Quest 9 alone (ridiculous, I know) on DS. Not comparable as a game, but I'm just saying clocking up a lot of hours is an individual trait, I believe. But then, I have to say exhausting at about 30-60 hours is comfortable for 1 game for me. I get to enjoy and move on. No burning out.
@Scrythe If you read in the comments of the S.S.H - super mario bros video, you'll find a comment from chris himself (Powerglove member), in which he says the band was inspired by S.S.H
/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c FF7 has plenty of good music as well. Bombing Mission, J-E-N-O-V-A, and Still More Fighting are great at giving a feeling of excitement. Aerith's theme, Tifa's theme, and Cid's theme all bring about their respective emotions well. You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet, Forested Temple, Cosmo Canyon, Chasing the Black-Caped Man, and Lifestream are all nice calming. But no matter what, there is no better normal boss music than The Decisive Battle in FF.
ive been listening to this since 2006 and still a hit to me damm thats good!!
oops, same as me, ah nope. I heard about this in 2008 while looking for stepmania dwi file
Same, I still remember that a friend showed me this song back in 2006.
Suplexing ghost trains never been so damn epic.
LoL, Sabin has Monstrous strenght 😂
shame they never gave gladio a moment like that in ffxv. a lot of that game had homages to ffvi
and yet ff14 just added the phatom train and you cant suplex it lol
@@eacowind8936 ah that's a shame. a darn shame.
Just doing that alone is epic
11 years later I find this, great, it sounds very familiar it reminds me some melodies from the FF mystic quest
People can say what they want about MQ's gameplay, but I have always thought its soundtrack slaps!
Agreed

This makes me so hyped that I could almost suplex a Train. A Ghost Train even.
Der Ritter
Have you ever gotten *SO MAD*, that you felt like you could Suplex a Ghost Train?
And did?
X Y Down Up mashing ensues
One of the masterpieces... It will never be forgotten

[DISCLAIMER: I'm just a fan. Not nearly as cool as the real Manic. I just post his quotes 'cause I luv his work]
The ending to the most recent part of the saga was amazing! Looking forward to the epilogue!
This must be THE most powerful video game song cover i have ever heard.
Then you should go check out his cover of "Wish" from the PC-98 game MIME. I think that has this beat by far.
I recomend the Venus Fire cover... THAT is sheer e.p.i.c.
You think this is perfect? Wait til you hear ver.2
BRIES Vile X3 Check it out.
I agree!
That version is sounding great still in 2023
This has now become my favourite remix of Decisive Battle
i totally agree
This song still is amazing so many years after I first heard it.
If Square Enix ever does a 3D/FFXIII type remake of FF6, this sick-ass boss music remix had BETTER be in it
Honestly, I'd LOVE to see a 3D remake of FF6:D I'm picturing the FFXIII battle style of Sabin and Cyan fighting the Phantom Train as I'm listening to this awesome sauce XD
I'd settle for the FF4 DS style remake, even.
+barihawk They've already done that
If there ever is a 3D remake I will mod it in
got to love when they make epic battle music kinda makes you want to make the battle last longer

FF7 is fucking overrated as hell. 6 gets nowhere near as much love
@@pickling2787 I agree that it gets nowhere near as much love as it deserves but there isn’t really a problem with people preferring 7. 6 is an incredible game (so far) though.
I don't think ill ever have the same eargasm that i did when i first heard this song playing FFVI
SSH IS BACK!
I was fucking looking for this shit and for some reason couldn't find it
FFVI meets Mega Man X2. Well look at that, two of my favorite SNES games!
2:26 makes me think of the Power Rangers for some reason. Now why could that be... :)
Anyway, S.S.H. is a genius, and this remix owns HARD.
This is the song I always cap off my workouts with. Never fails.
This is brilliant. If Square-Enix ever remade FFVI, I would want this to be the boss music =D
Sadly, Japanise are so disgustingly proud that they can even use decompressed music that sounds bad to avoid using previous works or something better made by 3rd parties
This track should be called "The Decisive Battle (Suplex the Fucking Train)", since man... Listening to it makes me feel like I could suplex a train.
Recently bought FF3 (6) for SNES(complete in mint condition) The boss battle music alone makes it worth it.
FF6 is my favorite game out of the Final Fantasy series
And thats why i love final fantasy, there are much less games from today that enjoy compared to how many i love from the older systems.
This is absolutely,
positively,
our LAST battle!
Trust me!
Najlepszy edytor na całej KM
Why am I just now hearing this masterpiece?!?!??
Is this what happens when FF6 and Guilty Gear have a lovechild?
This is where it all started (for me)
This game was greatest RPG follow up for me after beating Secret of Mana. Alas the Squaresoft golden age is but a memory.
Fuck yeah still here in 2022
Same, this is the song that got me into metal when I was 10 year old, now I cover FF songs on my electric guitars hahaha the whole loop has been done (O don’t post them so don’t ask lol)
This gives me Hella classic street fighter vibes
If you use Mog’s dance command during this song, he does 9999 damage every turn.
Wow this version rocks.
The band who remixed this song (and other songs from FINAL FANTASY) also did the remix version of some MEGAMAN songs, they sound similar but from totally different games and OSTs.
Suplexing ghost trains has never felt cooler
I get more of a castlevania feel from this tune than final fantasy, but it's all good.
“Yes I could do that, but you know what’s even better? The Surf Warrior: Give it up!”

this theme goes well for any huge boss in any game. fricken epic
