I just did some work on my friend's mothers 2003 Chevy Silverado; she wanted a rust protector, so I sprayed the truck with Woolwax. I have put it on three of my trucks. If you build it up thick on the first spray it works really well. If you do a second or third touch up it will last longer. I check once a year and do touch ups as needed.
Hey brother you really need to buy and install a Lift pump. As these trucks get older with more miles the CP3's internal low pressure pumping gear set gets worn down thus not flowing as much fuel as it should. Also the feed lines can get sucked shut/collapse on bigger tunes because the stock setup sucks fuel from the CP3 in the engine valley all the way back to the tank through some very soft fuel lines... Installing a lift pump will keep them open from pressure vs closing from suction, not to mention it's much better fuel filtration which saves injectors... Your truck looks to me like it's probably dropping rail pressure because tune 3 seemed just as fast as 4 or 5 with the same smoke output. They should be noticeably different.
Hey man, thanks for the great advice! Yeah we’ve been meaning to get a lift pump, but haven’t had the chance to do so yet. You’re right about tunes 3 to 5 being similar. Our injectors were replaced once, but that was a few years ago and a couple of them are borderline within spec, so that’s not helping the situation.
Honestly not a huge fan 👎 It held up fine for the summer, but the snow and salt from the wheels flaked off most of the coating. We’ll keep adding coats every few months and maybe eventually it’ll build a stronger coat, but as of now there’s barely anything left.
I'm glad I live in Texas. No rust problems. Nice truck.
Yeah we don’t have that luxury 👎 Glad you like the truck though!
just binged watched all the video love the series keep them coming
That’s awesome, we’re glad to hear it! The next episode is almost finished

Yeah our undercoating didn’t hold up to well through the Canadian winter 👎 we’ll add some coats this spring though
Been waiting for this.
Glad to know someone other than my mom watches the videos 🤘😂
@@Motorbolt 😂 I’ve got an lb7 as well so I’ve watched every episode of this build so far
Right on! Hopefully you learned a thing or two. The next episode should be ready soon.

😍😍😍
Any update on the under coating? I got surface rust I’ve been wanting to clean up and been looking for something for a while

hey i have a 02 chevy duramax was wondering if the gmc hood would fit on my chevy?
It will, but some modification is required. We made a full episode about it if you want to learn more.
Where'd you get the lope tune for the LB7?
I’m interested on this whole list! Can i do the same to my truck being out of state or does it need to be flash tuned in house?
The guys at Precision Diesel did all the work, so you’ll have to reach out to them for details about the tune itself!
I think they have to do it in house, but I’m not 100% sure.
do injectornozzles cp3 and turbo and run that ecm file get trans tuning too
Yeah maybe eventually!
I would like to see that truck towing some heavy the reason why I’m asking is because I have a lb7 and it needs a tuned bad
We tow our cars and enclosed trailers around all the time. The truck works awesome!
@@Motorbolt I do construction and my lb7 struggles a bit I have done work done to it but not crazy
A tune is an easy way to gain some power! The switch makes it easy to switch between tunes.
What backbumper is that?
It’s from a 2014+ GMC/Chevy. We have a full episode about it on our channel if you want to learn more.
How much did that cost you
It varies based on the truck and tune. You can reach out to Precision Diesel to get a quote for your truck.
