I moved to NC in February after a traumatic experience and having to pack a whole apartment by myself made me realize how much “stuff” I was holding onto. It really inspired me to work towards minimalism and focus more on storing up my treasures in Heaven, and not material things on earth. Blessings to you 💛

Phil, I’m going to tell you what I’ve learned from moving. There was a time in my life I moved 10 times in 10 years and this is how it went down. I would start out with very little possessions and add things as I built that “home” feeling in each place. Every single time I moved I left things behind like a dining set for the next tenant, a patio set, dresser, sofa set, jewelry, mementoes…I either left them for the next person or “gave” them away, countless things. Things I worked hard to buy, even sentimental things. I now live in the smallest home I have ever lived in. I have let go of so many material things in life over time and I feel it has made me stronger. It’s not about the “things” it’s about the changes I was willing to make, the chances I was willing to take to experience something new NO MATTER THE OUTCOME. I lived my life the way I wanted to live it. So now the things I own all have a special place. I’ve kept one pair of my precious Mother’s earrings after she died well over 35 years ago and I know where they are. They are stored with love and care because they are special to me. Even down to my cotton underwear that’s folded carefully in a drawer and the few shoes I own I have carefully purchased and I clean them and respect the use they give me. I have come to value the few items I own and respect their place in my life which in turn has translated into me respecting and owning all of my choices in life and more importantly respecting those in my home that come to me at the highest value, my husband and my dog. So all of that said I would rather care for a few things than own a lot that I couldn’t possibly keep track of. People for me are more important than things, and the things lead us in different paths. For me, my path is having less material things to care for so my mind can be clear to live & love. ❤😊

I have some paper clutter to work on this week and watching her video today made me not want to procrastinate. I did the same. I left Albany, New York, last minute and did not look back . Not going to explain my story here but I am not from Albany, New York. I am traveling now (all of this I prayed for) and healing continuously and working in different cities in the field of medicine to feel out where God wants me to settle down.
