I didn’t think that I would ever say that about a RUclips channel. But I've been hanging out here for a week or two and yeah, that seems to be the case.
These are killer videos, man. Been mixing for years, and this is all spot on stuff for panning. But you know what I’ve never really thought about somehow? Using a mono signal the way you might use space before a drop to make it hit harder. Genius. I always come away with at least one new idea or perspective, and I love it. Great work, man.
the day synthet stops making videos is the day the world ends no but seriously, i love you dude these videos don't go wild they go FEROCIOUS, after over 3 years of using fl studio there is nothing in your videos that i HAVEN'T found useful, i can't explain how much i love 0:57 as well, i never thought of how important it could be to put alot of focus into the mixing in a buildup until now, thank you synthet you are our savior
Really love the panning to center for tension building before chorus. Working on something this morning and I think that’s definitely gonna help the feel! Awesome video as always!
I’m a visual artist, so learning subtle yet powerful tricks of other art forms is just one of the coolest things to me. It’s like a whole other world of ideas I never thought to explore
You've set the bar for informative music production videos as far as I'm concerned. Even when I know something you're talking about, it's still enjoyable. That's really difficult to pull off. Hats off to you sir!
Today i learned that panning doesn't have to be some god awful demon that rear's it's head when somebody accidentally clicks a panning knob on a whole video's audio or when somebody tries to get creative without thinking it through This was actually really cool to see and something I could even make use of in the future
That mono automation is genius. I'll use it in all of my future projects. I'll make sure to stereo my backing vocals as well. And also, I'll make sure to stereo my 808s
You are crazy dude, this high speed super stimulating videos, although pretty brain killing as this tiktok era is, are pretty fun and wild, and much info compacted, great job
I've never been so quickly won over by a video. The execution is clinical, the editing fantastic, the flow immaculate and uninterrupted. I pulled this video up and instantly had to restart it because I was immediately aware that this video needed my full attention. I'm not a musician, nor producer or anything of the sort. I'm an editor and video producer, I ate this shit up like I've just bought FL studio. You knocked this shit out of the park.
Finally a video with panning done correctly... Many people pan just 100% left and then 100% right to make it sound like you are in a spinning room. Panning different frequencies is the crucial, rather than the whole mix as a mono to one side.
Holy this is amazing. I just had a really weird empty feeling in a song and separating the "background" instruments with the lead ones then having drums and extra sounds in the middle immediately made it better
I knew this for vocals to get a better chorus effect (shown in video), but didn't know how much it effected instruments as well. Makes complete sense though. Great video
Love your vids dude, feels good finding out what I did without being sure if it was right is actually good and putting synthet(ic) descriptions on it, but also learning lots of new stuff on these different subjects! And your backing tracks are 🔥🔥🔥
You deserve all the attention your getting, you have such a unique way of teaching and when I saw your pitch video i KNEW you'd grow fast as hell. Good luck bro ! never forget me when you got a million subs ( or 10 ) ( million )
These videos are so perfect, short but sweet with very satisfying editing, I can't help but watch every one that pops up. I was surprised to learn I never subscribed to you, I remembered to do it this time lol
I just met this channel like a week ago, I have no idea about music production and you just made an entire video about my favorite effect on music... the use of panning and take advantage to stereo audio to make it sound better by mixing different audio in different channels I loved it I hope you show us some examples of songs using this
Y'know, I have precisely 0 interest in making music and I have no idea why this was recommended to me, but I felt like I had to comment because the production quality on this video is just phenomenal. The dry humour is so perfect and the way you broke down the topic so well in a short time is genuinely impressive.
Dude I love this channel, literally just cooked some multiman bar fight ah beat, and was like DANG I CAN'T HEAR SHID EVERYTHING SOUNDS TOO NARROW. Then this beautiful vid appeared.
I know that most people here are doing EDM type stuff but this is a big thing in rock music too. Tool’s Sober and Muse’s Microcuts use the “narrow prechorus wide chorus” effect mindbogglingly well, and the acoustic reprise version of Paramore’s Misery Business has the lead guitar swirling around your head. All phenomenal.
I just recently had surgery on my right ear, giving me hearing on both sides for the first time in my 40 years. I've been exploring a lot of stereo content, and this video was actually very informative.
Also mixing in mono (setting stereo separation to none) is a good technique as sometimes the panning can trick your ears. Put it in mono, and your mix can often sound muddy or muffled. Fix up the EQ and effects, then play it back again, in stereo and it will sound 10x better than before.
Great video to watch on my computer with a broken left speaker
Great video to watch on my phfone
You're right.
Same
That's good, it's panned for u
It's ok to watch on phone... You just need to hold it landscape and extremely close to your face 👀
the most productive 1:20 minutes of my entire year.
could be more punny if you put "my entire ear" XD

True
We have to protect his channel if people don't like his channel, which will never happen

*entertaining as hell, it's genius.*
So true
Love the deadPAN humor in your videos

Dude, this is just actually an insane video. Extremely fluid, concise, good music, 1:20 in length. Wild.
I love the way this guy explains things in fl studio with rhythm :D
So true, The tips and tricks are also the performance which solidifies all of it :]
Never have i thought that my favourite channel is going to be a song production tutorial channel.

the automated mono building up to the chorus is so genius
Listening on a phone with stereo speakers, it's wild how much difference this subtle shift makes
Yeah, listening to this from my web cam speaker is amazing, I wish everyone made songs like this.
I audibly gasped out loud when I heard the mono background track example because it was EXACTLY the type of sound I didn't know what to do with
This is like the best and most creative tutorial I've ever seen. Unironically a masterpiece
"Subtle but nice" underrated
