  • With more bad weather forecast we change our plans and travel south, taking a 150 mile trip from Glencoe to the border town of Melrose. We stop off to visit the intriguing Rosslyn Chapel, with its amazing architecture and supposed links to the Holy Grail and the Knights Templar, which made it a feature of the Dan Brown Da Vinci Code novel and 2006 film. The campsite at Melrose is perfectly situated in this lovely town, with loads of interesting places to visit right on the doorstep.

Hi both. Glad the video was helpful. It is a lovely part of the country, we really liked the town, it had a real community feel. If you get the chance take a trip out to Abbotsford, it is a fascinating house to go round. Thank you for your support. All the best 👍😀

We visited CAMHC Melrose for the first time this Spring and what a delightful find it was. We were meeting up with friends and it was very convenient for that. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy being "in the town" but it is a lovely High Street with so many independent shops, including book shops - and best of all for us, dog friendly. We spent an afternoon in the Kings Arms watching rugby on the TV - travellers and locals, dogs included and had a lovely pub lunch too. So many nice walks within a short drive. It does get booked up at busy times but we'll definitely return there - whether on our way south (or back north) or just for a weekend with friends. Thanks for the reminder of Melrose.

Yes Scotland has so much to enjoy - it does seem to be getting more and more popular nowadays, so can get a bit crowded in the well known places. Still lovely though 👍😀

Many a year since we were at the Chapel. Melrose the site is the place to go for a New Year Party apparently but it gets booked up early..

The chapel was fascinating. Sounds like Melrose has a lot going on - the circus was in town while we were there! 👍😀
