Every dish looks & sounds so delicious! I enjoyed seeing some of the recipes I've tried from your books, to see what they usually look like "in real life" 😊
Mumbai is more than just a city. It's an emotion, an energy, a trance. I live in California now, but going back to Mumbai every few years is a pilgrimage . Thanks for taking us with you
Thank you for taking us into the throng of the street food stalls as it felt like we were part of the hungry people waiting to be served with what looks delicious and freshly cooked food. You looked so excited going down memory lane too. 👍🏼
Hi Chetna, Loved this video! I was so surprised to see you dunking buttered bread into chai ! As a child we did this as an afternoon snack and I still do sometimes today. And yes I still enjoy it as much as you seemed to ! best wishes from me.
I’m a black American going to Mumbai for a wedding at the end of this year. It’ll be my first time in India and I’m very much looking forward to it especially after watching this. Can’t wait to eat all of this food.
That’s looooovely! I think that I could even feel the smells! These colors! Fantastic! We need a book from you with the recipes and the most highlights of your favorite food points))
Chetna, ah this brings back good memories. I havent forgotten the delicious pau bhaji and kulfi i had in 1985 on chhowpatti beach. Do they still serve food there?
Vegetarian food is healthy and awesome. Unfortunately, I can't eat street food in India. Doesn't agree with me. Also the hygiene puts me off. For those who can stomach it hats off to you😁. All the best to you Chetna. Been following some of your videos to improve my cooking👍.
Hello Chetna! New fan here from NZ. Didn’t use to have India in our travel bucket list until we tasted your food. Absolutely amazing! Glad to have found you here as we also share the same passion for cooking. Kia ora! xx
I'm amazed that most of the food stalls have a copy of the menus (and quote a lot of other signage too) in English as well as the local language (all I know is that it's not English). Are there lots of tourists?
Chetna! I love your videos!! Could you advice the best time of the year to travel to India North: Mumbai, Ahmedabad etc... January? (I look for the month with lower temperatures and humidity.... Thank you!!!
Yes January for Mumbai and the 4 Southern States (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh) and February for Delhi, Rajasthan and Agra (Jan is too cold for these states. maximum temperatures in January in Northern states could be in late teens/ early 20s in degree celsius with fog and mist on highways (unsafe for long distance driving). Suggest u try Middle of February if u want to cover all states including Mumbai.
Hi Chetna wow that was lovely 😍 it's good you had a wonderful time 🥰 the street food looks delicious 😋 I hope you have a safe journey back home, I can't wait to see you back at your kitchen 😍❤️💖🥰
change is so fast in Mumbai. Only London compares in tearing down old and building new so fast, leaving lots of old right next to brand new all over the city. Been past your train stop many times; ours is Andheri.
Five pooris and sabzi! My god, I would burst. Changed to CST long before you moved there (according to you saying you moved to Mumbai 20 years ago). My recollection is that it changed mid-90s. Mumbaikars still call it VT.
@@FoodwithChetna you can get as offended as you want for something that was not meant to offend you. But, reality won’t change and that is although India is very beautiful, India has a huge hygiene issue in all it sectors which I hope can one day change.
@Food with Chetna lol Love Indian food though. I'm a Brit expat in the USA, I live here with my American hubby, no Indian restaurants around, unfortunately, however, found a shop 20 mins away that sells all the spices I need to make your recipes 😊. Still, I miss a good Indian takeaway lol. My parents families went to India during the British Empire there, and where my parents were born. My Mum was an awesome cook and made wonderful curries, so thankful she showed me how to make them. Have you had pepper water Chetna? I LOVE it 🥰😊
3:26 Structure? Don't you mean "architecture"? Perhaps Victorian? When were these built? I am enjoying the travel vlog even though "Bald And Bankrupt" did a much better job at it than you and he is not even Indian.
Love love Mumbai been there several times and every time was better than last. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos, especially this one. Mouth watering food for all. Xx

If its all so delicious does anyone else here apart from me think they can male it a bit more presentable and clean. Sorry I could not eat there
no problem, you dont have to!
Yes, I have respect but it was a turn off when I seen him touch his feet nd then proceeded 2 cook.Hard Pass 4 me..Much luv 2 y'all...
ok Lisa
I hope the old buildings and establishments can be saved. Sad they are using so much disposable plates, cups etc now.
Well most of it is recyclable.....
@1:35 - love the combination of hair net and dirty feet!!
The guy was touching his foot and then he touched the dough. 🤦🏻♀️
😂 😂 😂 we Mumbaikars are immune. it gets deep fried @more than 200 degrees so …we figure no problem. but I see it from your point of view.
The best bit it that you didnt have to eat it?!?!?

I find it ironic that they're wearing hair nets, but their filthy feet are right next to the food prep. No thanks.
well you dont have to eat anything.......
