Hamlet and fellow introvert here. I'm trying so hard to get into a place to start making things for these kinds of markets.
These videos help out a ton and I appreciate the work you do on them. Thanks!

Thanks, they are fun videos to make. I'm excited about the ones later this year. I've got some good ideas to make them fun!

Extremely helpful video Hamilton! Fellow introvert and professional procrastinator maker checking in. Been focusing on online sales, but I fondly remember going to craft shows and markets as a kid. Seeing how you handle these markets solo gives me the inspiration and (slight) motivation of finally going to one myself! Keep up the great work, and really digging your green screen in the back ground!

your video's are great. The thing I have learned about doing markets. 1st you never know no how it is going to go. 2. is fall markets generally do better for sales.

Glad you did well. Was cool seeing you there. I should have taken a pic so I could be seen with a superstar. Glad you were able to make it through the wind that day as well. Also, don't remember if you mentioned it or not but I would guess your sign hanging from the top saying "$25 or less" probably brought people into your booth as well. Our new house is coming along so hopefully we'll be in by the end of the year and then a CNC is on my list.

Great video! Yep, I've noticed that interaction with people really helps. But the main reason I'm commenting is maybe a helpful hint on making the bottle openers. If you mark the place for the screws in the program when you're v-carving the image (2 small circles where you want the screws) it makes placing the bottle opener a breeze.

I like the recap at the end showing your time in the market; and in the videos.
That really helps understand what goes into making a product, including content. And I think that's the "how it's made" that is sort of glossed over. I subscribed a while ago because of your whiskey smokers, and I was thinking about getting a CNC when I saved up enough.
Big like to your videos my dude, and thank you!

I just want to throw an unsolicited plug for Hamilton’s course. I am a complete newbie to CNC and since my CNC purchase came with one year free of Carveco Maker, I decided to start out there. I am also a Mac user, so I had to set up Parallels with Windows 11 to use it.
I watched other videos on YT but found several very confusing and often explained like you already knew things. After this course, I had a much better understanding and already designed my first project. His videos in the course use his same style of say it like it is without getting all technical. I have designed online courses before and this one meets the mark when it comes to learning!

I applaud you for getting out there and doing the markets for research. I like that you took the don't try too hard approach. When I visit markets, I hate it when the vendor jumps up and tries to engage me right away before I engage them. Thank you for sharing.

It does take some trial and error when it comes to markets. Layout is really important. My last market I sold more afterwards then the actual show after people seen my post on FB. If you look at it as marketing for your business they make a little more sense to do them.

Cost of material seems right - definitely isn't factoring in labor time from the CNC or assembly though 😥

I once did a market in my hometown, and it was so bad. Only had 10 people coming that where not friends of boot holders. Not a single sell. Organisatie didn't put up any advertisement, not even at the street. basically you had to know to know.
There where couple of shady boot holders, I still wonder if the market was set up by them. These shady boot holders where just selling china crap, felt like the where laundering money.

@@HamiltonDilbeck LMAO that's hilarious. Because I was thinking "how will these regular people going to a wholesome crafts market react to a damn bottle opener that says I love cumming". But that makes a whole lot more sense now, though I bet it's still funny for residents.

Take a cue from the convention industry. Booth babes. They sell. As men, no matter how cute we get we just can't compete. If I ever did anything like this I'd have my wife there.

Personally, I am the type of person if I walk into a store and you talk to me within a few minutes, I'm extremely bothered. I feel like if you are going to scope me out, you better pull out your phone and set a timer for 5 minutes or more and then start to gradually come towards me. Even then, 99% chance I will say 'Just looking' and proceed to complain that why is everyone so pushy? Someone said that for an introvert, a 5 minute interaction can take a day away. I can see that.

Bottle openers are $1. You made 16 on the table. So $32 for wood, stain, cnc, and your time? Efficient...
