Thanks for this! I found that on the 2020 R1250RT I took out the two screws under the windshield above the Nav unit. That allowed me enough slack to lift the nav socket panel up enough to slide the key fob in about an inch. That did it for me. Not necessary to remove the speaker as it shows in the manual.
Hi, I need your help! I recently replaced a key battery for my 2013 R1200RT but i cant find any information how to connect the key to the bike now, so i cant switch the alarm on!! Any ideas please!!
First I would check to make sure the battery is installed properly. Then maybe try another battery. On my water-cooled RT I simple changed the battery and everything worked. No need to re-sync or anything. If that doesn’t work, I’d call the closest dealer and ask their advice. Good luck!

Good to know. Few weeks ago i wanted take bike for 1st spin of the year.an battery was dead.but shops were open so spin was just delayed a wee bit
A good tip is to replace batteries each year and carry an extra with you. Maybe your buddy will need the extra battery. Thanks for the feedback.

You don't need to remove the speaker.
Just pop the Nav out and stick your fob halfway into the bottom hole and it'll work.
No tools required
