No matter how much the music changes it's still Tool no matter what. There's just a feeling that you can't escape when you listen to their music. It's more than just his voice or the beat. There's a deeper feeling that comes along with every track on every album. Tool will forever be one of the greatest groups there ever will be.

How old were you? My first concert was in 1988, when I was 11! I saw Glass Tiger. But my first concert I went to see without an adult was Nirvana in 1992! I dropped four hits of double dose cosmic clinical acid, and snorted some Angel Dust beforehand, then we met these chicks in their early twenties who wanted teenage playthings for the night, and they fed us peyote and blow all night! Best 15th birthday ever!

    [Part 1: Opiate]
    [Intro]
Choices always were a problem for you
What you need is someone strong to guide you
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow
What you need is someone strong to guide you
    Like me
    Like me
    Like me
    Like me
    [Verse]
If you want to get your soul to heaven
Trust in me now, don't you judge or question
You are broken now, but faith can heal you
Just do everything I tell you to do
    [Chorus 1]
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow
What you need is someone strong to guide you
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow
Let me lay my holy hand up, hand upon you
    [Post-Chorus]
    My God's will
    Becomes me
    When he speaks
    He speaks through me
    He has needs
    Like I do
    We both want
    To rape you
    [Chorus 2]
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now
    [Bridge]
If you want to get your soul to heaven
Trust in me, now don't you judge or question
You are broken now, but faith can heal you
Just do everything I tell you to do
    [Chorus 2]
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow
Let me lay my holy hand up, hand upon you
    [Post-Chorus]
    My God's will
    Becomes me
    When he speaks
    He speaks through me
    He has needs
    Like I do
    We both want
    To rape you
[Part 2: The Gaping Lotus Experience]
    [Verse 1]
I had a friend once, he took some acid
Now he thinks he's a fire engine
It's okay until he pisses on your lighter
Kinda smells kinda cool, kinda funny anyway
    [Refrain]
    Satan, Satan, Satan, Satan, Satan
    [Verse 2]
I had a friend once, he took some ecstasy
Tried to marry me and every one in the room
He was sort of loving, kinda caring
Kinda tried to fuck my La-Z boy
It got a bit messy all over the curtains
Arm chair covers, throw pillows, and carpeting
    [Outro]
I'm getting bored, I'm getting bored
I'm getting bored, I'm getting bored
I'm getting bored, I'm getting bored
I'm getting bored, I'm getting bored

Maynard's lyrics were the catalyst for almost every change in myself that I personally approve of. Thank you Tool, APC, and Puscifer for always keeping me honest by always reminding me that I have no right to judge anything other than myself. I would have been hopelessly lost in this life if I had not used your lyrics to help find the parts of myself I never knew existed, but always knew I would not accept.

I still believe in a higher power but we have our own connection. Deaf and blind, born to follow. Lead your own path, I have my own connection with god and I don’t need a leader to show me it.
