      Her voice sounds like an animated child's voice, like you'd hear on a cartoon. She was a devoted mother central to her children's upbringing. Her strong faith got her through. Her subservience though is somewhat baffling, the stance her husband could did no wrong. Denial. Isn't it human nature to challenge things? It's like she went along with whatever happened.

      @@ReviewsChannel-e4rthe old man rubbed her nose in the fact of his cheating. She said every time he came to California to be with Gloria Swanson he’d come home with an expensive piece of jewelry for her. It’s the same code he expected the daughters in law, keep your mouths shut, don’t complain about the other women and I’ll pay you generously. Too bad Joan, Teddy’s wife couldn’t abide by the rules, gave birth as required, but drank. She finally dried out, divorced teddy and hopefully had a good life.

      She was a full of **** social climbing Vatican kook. I still feel sorry though for any mother that loses her children because of murder or disease. Yet she and her pro-Hitler husband Joseph were shallow enough to put their daughter, Rosemary, away and have her given a lobotomy. These people were shallow, cold as ice and crooked as a corkscrew. Many people that were famous in the 1930s supported the The Nazi Party officially the National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP). But when the Germans tried to reclaim their lost lands from their empire and then some, people had to choose a side. Joseph Jr. died from a military accident near Blythburgh, Suffolk, England.

    Of all the Kennedys, I admire Rose most because she was the backbone of the Kennedys. Having lost so many of her children, she still found time to handle these tragedies with such grace and kindness. She took her marriage seriously and was all about the better or for worse. Joseph was a parasite for treating her the way he did with all his adultery but she still stood by him.

    • @KB-nr3ls
      @KB-nr3ls 4 месяца назад +7

      @@char7945Rose was the epitome of a staunch, devout Catholic. It was a different time back then. However, I cannot imagine refusing to attend my daughter's funeral. I believe the way in which Rose comforted herself is by declaring that Kathleen had died "in a state of grace." Even Eunice was telling some white lies in this interview. I was surprised when she said she quizzed her mother about her autobiography and the fact that Rose didn't mention one disagreement or argument throughout the book. When the interviewer asked Rose about it, Rose firmly denied ever having any arguments or disagreements with her husband. That is probably how she survived all the tragedies. Denial.

    Truly truly, the Kennedy’s are cursed, as my father used to say. ( we are Kennedy’s)
    My father met Jack kennedy at a dinner when Joe senior was stationed in London- my father and JFK sat next to each other and were astounded to find that these two young men were not only born in the same year, but in the same month and the same day of the month. ( 29 May, 1917)
    We too had a large family, but had tragedy after tragedy with my brother Liam first to go, at 20, drowned on a fishing trip in a massive gale. My mother the next year, at 44, cancer, and on and on it went. We are now decimated. Rose is so strong and inspiring, we didn’t have anyone like that to pull us through.

We lost our father over 30 years ago. We also are a Christian family and most have put their trust and life in Gods hands. Not all is easy,and I live far from them all. I’ve sometimes thought of Rosemary because I have a daughter with a disability and I think Bonnie’s life could have been even worse, had she had Rosemarys treatment. I just wanted to encourage you this evening. I think there are blessings not to be wealthy or famous. Rose graduated high school at age fifteen, accompanied her dad Honey Fitz on campaigns, was accepted into Wellesley but was made to go to a Catholic school by her mother, and endured deaths of four of her children, one institutionalized without her knowledge, and adultery by her husband the entire marriage. She naturally birthed nine babies and lived to one hundred four years old. God Almighty what a lady!😮 🙏

      She did endure all those things but, she was self indulgent, cruel, cared more about her image, than her reality. She didn't take care of her own kids. She was horrible to her help. Out of the public eye, she was ruthless. She hid behind her religion. She was horrible to her daughters in laws. She was very jealous of Jackie. If she paid attention to Rosemary, then she wouldn't have ended up with a lobotomy. After Joe had his stroke, she got revenge on him.. For that I don't blame her.

      @@edp3202 She was present. She was respected but feared. Reality was different than, what is for show, for the cameras. I'm 64, grew up in Massachusetts. Between what I saw, ( she was covered a lot, obviously, a long with the rest)and read, from many sources, she was just someone, I had no respect for. I found her very mean, entitled and phony.. She never got over the fact, that Joe messed up when he was the Ambassador for England and he screwed up his chances for becoming president and she could never be 1st lady. She left her kids for months on end, to go shopping in Europe for new wardrobes. She was beside herself when they had to come back to the US, with their heads down.The Kennedy's were a well produced family.. Not saying, I didn't like the rest, or their place in history. I am a huge Kennedy buff. Just not a Rose Kennedy fan...

      @@labadoor2607 wow. She was called Iron Rose. Lived to 104 years. But maybe because she farmed out the work to everyone else to raise the children and to everything. It must have sucked to be cheated on all the time.

      @@edp3202 She knew he was going to cheat on her before they were married. She agreed to it. It was a bit of a transactional marriage. ( even with that knowledge it had to suck). It was acceptable behavior. ( openly). But even if she wanted to leave, her religion wouldn't allow it. She went to church everyday. She was a devout catholic. Joe's behavior was passed on to JFK, Robert and Ted. All their wives, were sat down prior to marriage and told, that their husbands were not going to be faithful. JFK, had every venereal disease going. Jackie had, had enough, was seriously going to divorce him. She was tired of him embarrassing her. Joe had a one on one with her, basically told her, her life would be a living hell, threw the kids in her face, then gave her a settlement. Eunice, Robert's wife, was to religious and looked the other way. She had her sites on being 1st lady as well. ( before JFK's death, she thought she and Robert, would occupy the WH, after JFK's 8 years). The of course Joan divorced Ted. She was called Iron Rose, because it was her way or the high way, she had the power and entitlement, learning it from her father. She cared more about being skinny than anything. She talked about her figure. She talked shamefully to her daughters in laws about getting their shape back right after giving birth. She gave Jackie a hard time about getting her shape back and getting out to publicly support JFK and that she had to look good. after she had lost her baby. She bragged that it only took her a couple of weeks, to regain her shape after all her deliveries. She was more ruthless than anything..

    I can't get pass her not paying enough attention to her daughter Rosemary, that's a sad story. However I think she was a strong woman who endured a lot.
