I wonder what she really thought about the murders of Kennedys. Did she know about Marylyn Monroe and the questionable accounts of history? Rest in peace, Mrs. Kennedy.
Jackie Kennedy is always remembered for her enigmatic beauty. Ethel embodied the best of the Kennedys with her lifelong work for the poor, oppressed and human rights. True soul beauty.
After I saw the long train ride that carried the body of slain New York senator and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy from New York’s Penn Station to Washington D.C.’s Union Station I knew that his assassination was the death of the American Dream. We live in a country where violence often has a profound influence far beyond its immediate victims.
Ethel lived a good long life; even with so many PUBLIC tragedies she showed grace and dignity. I can only imagine after losing RFK, hers wasn't an easy road, but I've always admired her from afar. RIP Ethel
I lived in McLean Virginia in the early 90’s. I went to the Catholic Church she attended. The first time I saw her she smiled very sincerely. She was so natural that I was shocked by her casual manner. One Easter Sunday we came and there was no sitting room. While my husband and I talked to her she scooped my little two year old in her arms. I found her charismatic and delightful. It made me realize how the media can paint people the way they want us to see them rather than the way they are.

They were terrific people, dedicated to justice for those who had neither power nor money to gain influence. Robert and Ethel stood as shining examples of the very best in America.

I am from Germany and I was always admiring Ethel Kennedy. I remember the morning, my mother came out of her sleeping room, telling the bad news, that RFK was shot. God bless her. .
I have an unusual and interesting RFK story to share. Years ago I was sitting in a doctor's office waiting room and a young woman was waiting, as well. Attractive and perfectly groomed, the woman was an airline stewardess, and looked the part in her crisp, tailored outfit and matching cap. Within a few minutes the two of us were engaged in an animated conversation. After mentioning that her professional focus was on international flights between North America and Europe, I politely enquired if she ever had any public figures on board her flights. Pondering a moment, the stewardess mentioned one....Robert F. Kennedy. She said it was an overnight flight from New York to London and Mr. Kennedy was on board. On into the night her job was to turn down the lighting to encourage the passengers to rest. She mentioned that Kennedy was wide awake and full of energy though...in his case, a great deal of energy. He asked her if it was OK for him to help tidy up the plane with her and she readily agreed. So Robert F. Kennedy and the stewardess together cleaned up the airplane while the other passengers slept. I once heard him live in New York giving a speech and his energy level was indeed exceptional, not to mention charismatic, so the story doesn't surprise me in the least.
